  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) Odalis Perez wouldn't even be the 3rd best starter on this team. Odalis Perez is a better 4th/5th starter option than Jeff Weaver. Yes, but this whole move would be made so Contreras doesn't start in the playoffs. We can't face our own division if the division gets the wild card and more than likely not, we're going to be facing a really good offensive team(Bal, Red Sox, Yanks, Anaheim, Texas). Getting Odalis would pretty much defeat the purpose of getting a starting pitcher IMHO.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Lets wait to see who the prospects are first. Don't matter, 2 prospects for Randa is pretty high. One of them has to be at least a mid level guy.
  3. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) you all know the 1st game griffey plays for us, his hamstring explodes. i don't want him He's been healthy all year. Chill out. His bad luck is over. I'm convinced.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) I'll say I'm 99 percent sure he won't move Damaso without having another trade lined up for a left handed reliever. I agree. I really don't want to get rid of Contreras because statistically, you could make a case for him being better than Burnett this year. If we're trading for Burnett, have him pitch in the rotation while leaving Contreras in it or swing him to Philly for Wagner.
  5. Old news. Odalis also got shelled in the playoffs last year. I know it was against St. Louis, but an "ace" shouldn't get rocked like that. I'm intrigued by Jeff Weaver since he'll be cheaper and probably a good 4th/5th starter.
  6. I'm going to pat myself on the back and say I told ya'll. I said that the Padres were looking at him and probably would get him within the past week, but everyone overlooked my post about it.
  7. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) You dont take out Rowand who's starting to swing a very hot bat. I just dont where to put Griffey. Im suprised the Cubs arent a potential Griffey suitor, maybe they just gave up. Dye in RF is solid in all facets after a reallly slow start. Podsednik is an All-Star.... I dont know.. Can Griffey play 1B? Griffey in CF, Rowand in RF, Dye at 1B(like Ive been saying). Makes me smile. I would love him to be on the Southside of Chicago. Do it KW. GET TO DA CHOPPA!!!
  8. You wouldn't have to give up that much for Griffey. I'm telling you that as a Cincy Red fan. PK for Griffey is what I have proposed. They want to get rid of Casey, but it they can't, they at least get rid of most of Griffey's contract. And I'm holding on to Contreras over McCarthy or El Duque. We could probably trade BMac and another midlevel guy for Burnett and flip him into Wagner. That would be my best case scenario, but I don't see KW making any moves(for once, even though I think he should) that's going to make a difference at all.
  9. Cora ain't going anywhere. He made one mistake last night. For those saying to send him again...uh no. Manny had that ball as soon as PK tagged 3rd base. It's not like the ball was a deep base hit. It was a liner hit in front of Manny(not over his head). Cora should know PK's speed. If you look at the replay, PK wasn't even in the picture when Varitek got the ball. Manny probably could've hit the cutoff man and the cutoff man still would've gotten him out.
  10. Don't know the difference betwen the two, but the one Crede wears should be the one all of White Sox wear with sleaveless jerseys.
  11. They're wearing the sleeveless ones tnoight. Thank you Jon Garland. You have answered my call!!!!
  12. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) The more quality arms he has in the pen, the less he can make a mistake. I don't think there could be many mistakes made with Marte/Politte/Hermanson/Wagner at the end of the pen. Yeah he can. Using those guys for 1/3rd an inning and putting in Viz to close it out.
  13. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) I swear that is what they have been doing for the last 5 years lol. Seriously, it seems that the Ryan is in a perpetual state of "repair." Tell me about it. Damnit, I hate the Ryan.
  14. QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) We were talking to a bunch of dudes from boston and they were cool as f***. No doubt that some Red Sox fans are cool(I'm actually a fan of that team) but their fans(the bandwagoners that is) have really turned me off to them. I mean, guys with no connections to Boston and no reason to cheer for Boston are cheering for them like they're cheering for the Bulls circa 91-98.
  15. QUOTE(palesox38 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) I'd rather have him than The Cuban Pitching Crisis. LOL I would too, but if we could flip him for a Billy Wagner and still keep all 5 of our starters(Burnett is no more effective than Contreras this year) then I rather allow the Cuban Pitching Crisis to keep keepin' on.
  16. How about this idea?(Thinking like I'm K-Dub right now) White Sox trade for Burnett and proceed to move him for a package of Wagner and Lidle. Probably Burnett and Chris Young??? I don't know, but I know KW loves Corey Lidle and he could be a nice Spot Starter/Long Reliever. What do you guys think?
  17. They said on ESPN that Joe Randa would most likely end up with San Diego and that would pretty much be the end of Sean Burroughs there.
  18. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:00 PM) The thing i'm trying to figure out is what percentage of these red sox fans are fairweather? How many are just die hards that have ended up in Chicago, or traveled out for the weekend? If they are die hards and are annoying, it sucks...but if they are typical fair weather pieces of crap, then it's 100 times worse. I really don't have a clue on the percentages though. The ones I was around were fairweather and you can tell. They were shocked when I was explaining to my brother that Carl Everett used to play with them. They just kept saying, "No, we would never let that player go." I just told them, either they're bandwagoners or they know jacks*** about baseball since Carl was with them within the past 5-6 years(and these guys were like 22). Two of their friends who are Sox fans just said, "they're bandwagoners" and laughed at them. They felt really stupid the whole game. And they would get such an orgy whenever Boston had a basehit. They kept saying, "This is where the s*** starts, right here. All the time, it's over for the White Sox. We're blowing this b**** wide open." Being a former GSR was the only thing that made me keep my cool from proceeding to giving them a verbal b**** slap.
  19. QUOTE(Balance @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 09:55 AM) Last night's loss felt so bad because we beat ourselves. Here we are, trying to show that the Sox are for real against the champs, and we spit the bit. Our Sox need to show more focus and mental toughness if they're going to make a splash in the playoffs. It was very disheartening to see them play as poorly as they did last night. A couple good games this weekend and I think we'll all feel better. My sentiments exactly.
  20. Chicago is already congested as it is. Imagine all those goddamn tourists here. No point in having a car for those Olympic days since you won't be able to move anywhere.
  21. The Eagles and Patriots are two teams that won't pay your ass, good or bad. Notice how they're the top teams. The Eagles won't trade him to Atlanta like T.O. wants to think or anyone else except Bolivia. They'll let him rot and make an example out of him. He won't play in TC or preseason at all, but he will sure as hell play in the season. Why? Because if he doesn't, he'll have to pay back all his signing bonus from last year and he won't be getting paid jacks*** unless he applies at Jewel or something. I love T.O. as a talker and a player, but goddamn, he's gotten out of hand.
  22. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 10:46 AM) I'm going to be Florida. No. Takes Burnett hostage.
  23. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) If we trade Contreras for Burnett, we CAN'T flip him for Wagner. We'd be back in the 5th starter black hole. Yep. That's why Willie, Felix, and Joe(LTP) for Burnett. Take it or leave it Florida. DO IT DO IT DO IT!! GET TO DA CHOPPA!!!!!!
  24. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 01:02 AM) This lineup = the 2000 lineup. When they get to the playoffs they are gonna get shut down big time and then complain about the sun being in their eyes just as a certain someone infamously did back in 2000. They need to stop swinging for the damn fences every at bat. Sadly, that's what this offense reminds me of too, except we can't even hit good in the regular season. Imagine the playoffs. Is it possible to win games without scoring runs?? Let's hope so or else the White Sox are in trouble.
