  1. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) Nite ... Felix Diaz is worse. He is getting absolutely torched at AAA, hitters are knocking him around at about a .320 batting average. IMO he is about the last guy you want to bring up. Bmac was also getting torched in AAA and getting worse before we brought him up again. Felix Diaz can't be any worse than BMac. And I mean that. About the White Sox drafting, they did miss out on quite a few guys in the early rounds. Honel was an alright choice, though I didn't like him, I blame his lack of success on injury. Other guys though haven't been so good. I'm skeptical about Broadway. It seems the White Sox are trying to find a bunch of Greg Maddux's because of the success Buehrle's had and the lack of injuries he's had. I think one of these days though, KW & company is going to have to develop a power guy. Else we'll be trying to trade for a bunch of Jason Schmidt's for a long time.
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) Didn't Beane pretty much say that he wasn't trading Hudson or Mulder to any AL team? I remember him specifically turning down BMac and I don't think it had anything to do with the White Sox being an NL team. Wasn't there also a rumor in which the White Sox traded Carlos Lee for Barry Zito in a waiver wire deal, but the A's then declined?? All I know is Beane didn't want either of those guys.
  3. BMac isn't ready. He's been rushed. Get his ass out of here before he gains negative confidence. With the way BMac is now, I believe that's attainable. Bring up Felix Diaz and don't fly him in 2 hours before his start either.
  4. Stud Bullpen guy. Billy Wagner - Kenny get him now!
  5. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) This is if it happens bout I doubt it will! Trade Rumors Blowing on the Northside! White Sox aquire Jason Schimdt in a Trade! Haha so true. Or if they both do a trade on the same day: Cubs Reacquire Superstars Kenny Lofton, Randall Simon, Jose Hernandez and Tanyon Sturtze...More Details Inside and What It Means for the NL Central White Sox Acquire Injured Pitcher Jason Schmidt for Ace Brandon McCarthy
  6. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) You are correct for the reason the A's let him go. However, people on here thought it would take a package of 4 or more players to GET Hudson, when in fact, it was 2 mid level prospects. Well I heard that KW offered Carlos Lee and I think BMac for him and BB said no. So it would've taken alot. Maybe Steff could confirm this, but I remember KW inquiring about him and Mulder.
  7. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) Mmmmmm not bad, can anyone else think of anything? YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

  9. If you plan on trading Contreras for another pitcher, forget about. You will not get an as good pitcher as Contreras if you're trading him in the same deal.
  10. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) why havent we talked to a redsox board? Yeah seriously, someone needs to get in touch with the Red Sox.
  11. I'm doing my best to get Pods in there. Yesterday I voted for an hour straight for Pods and Oswalt.
  12. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 09:59 AM) Is Andy really an improvement from El Duque? Yes. He has somewhere around a 3.19ERA pitching in the juicebox. I honestly would rather see him too if it were a starting pitcher because I know we would have to give up loads to get Schmidt and not as much to get Andy. My first choice would also be Billy Wagner or Brad Lidge. We need someone who will just strike fear in opponents.
  13. I hope another team picks him up because the Twins are a team that is looking at him from what I've heard. No need to help them out, so someone please be stupid and trade for him.
  14. I like it. You're basically putting Contreras at the 4 spot and El Duque at the 5 minimizing his starts. Quit the complaing guys. Have faith in management that got us so far. And this is coming from a guy who hates Ozzie's bullpen management.
  15. I would love to see Buehrle start, but realistically I know Halladay is unless he turns in a piss poor performance and Buehrle pitches a gem next time out.
  16. QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) Can somebody explain the Bandits to me? I mean, I know they're a pro softball team, and they seem to have a lot of hotties and talent, but do they play in any sort of league? I saw them once on Comcast and they were playing the China National Team, that had to be an exhibition though. Are they all exhibitions? I certainly can't complain about watching Jennie Finch pitch from the center field camera angle! They play in the National Pro Softball League I believe. They play both international competition and comp. from the states. She pitched a no hitter yesterday and the day before, her teammate pitched a no hitter. They've also have gotten some pretty damn good run support.
  17. The White Sox will probably give him a new contract over the offseason and forget about arbitration. He'll get his 3 year deal at the end of the season.
  18. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) Sorry folks, but if we have the chance to snag Jason Schmidt, we need to do it. That bumps Contreras into the pen for the post-season. Having more than 5 reliable starting pitchers in the play-offs can do wonders for a ball club. Look at the Red Sox last year, they had Derek Lowe and Bronson Arroyo coming out of the pen until later in the ALCS! Getting Schmidt would only bolster our rotation even more, a change of scenery may also be what Schmidt needs to get him back on track. I love Brandon McCarthy but there is no way you can rely on him to be solid in the post-season, let alone in consecutive starts. We need to get Jason Schmidt. CWSOX45 And just like Arroyo and Lowe, Count and Duque will be in the bullpen. Only reason why Lowe even got a shot was because of Schilling's injury. Else he would've been in the bullpen the whole time. Schmidt in his current state isn't going to help us more than Count or El Duque.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) What are you talking about. Early in the season he continually got screwed out of wins by the bullpen. Jose has pitched very well this season. I know he struggled last night and can be tough to watch, but his numbers have been good and he's kept the club in most games. Its frustrating to watch him, I'll admit, but thats probably because we all have seen the potential he has and expect to see it. I know I've seen a few starts this year where I'm just in awe at how he pitches. Problem is once he gets into a jam he's gonna struggle the rest of that inning. He just creates problems and needs to learn to pitch with some confidence. My sentiments exactly.
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) Here's a timeline on Schmidt's velocity and his last few starts; Actually I remember it too. He usually hit 97-98 and occasionally had it up to 99.
  21. I said AJ simply because even moreso than Mark, I feel he is the trendsetter. Mark has been here for awhile Garland and the other pitchers we had didn't pitch this good. AJ is a great game caller and knows exactly how to handle a pitching staff.
