  1. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) The thing about Curry he was really starting to hit a groove it seemed when he had to be disabled because of his heart.... And I think Skiles influence on him has gotten him to become a much better player and I think if his heart truly is not a problem and we do resign the giants we will see a huge huge improvement from them since last year. Good thing is Curry seems enthusiastic about working out I agree. His last 10 games, he was becoming a beast. LeBron wants him according to ESPN.
  2. I would say Amare's defense is average at best. He even admitted it when they got eliminated and said that he'll make sure he improves his defensive play. That's what I love about him. He has fire and determination to improve. Next year I expect him to make a couple of steps into being a defensive beast.
  3. Purdue won't be much of anything. Brandon Kirsch is an alright QB, but he isn't like Kyle Orton when healthy. Plus they lost Taylor Stubblefield. I honestly don't see them winning more than 6 games. I think Iowa has a chance to run the table in the Big Ten. They have boatloads of talent and their schedule isn't too tough. If they get past OSU and Michigan, they'll be fine.
  4. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) ESPN says not so fast........ may still happen, but all parties seem to be denying anything is a done deal at this point. My question is, why did Conley Jr. eliminate IU from consideration so early? Probably he's not so sure who his coach will be after next year. Mike Davis is still on thin ice and most think he'll be fired after next year. He doesn't want to be stuck in limbo and with a coach he won't like. If he transfers, he'll have to waste a year sitting down.
  5. With his numbers, he definately deserves to get in. I don't know if he'll be first ballot, but no question, he was one of the best power hitters of his era.
  6. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) you can ALWAYS find a wife in the clasifieds. Someone claim these tickets. I would if I could, but I can't so do it guys.
  7. Good for Mike, but I don't miss him and won't.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 18, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) The Herminator. That's reserved for Chris Widger aka The Widgenator I go with Hermy.
  9. You have officially been put in Crede's Crew.
  10. Schmidt, even with his last 2 starts, does not deserve to be the 2 on this team. So far Freddy and Jon would go ahead of him in my book. I don't even know if I would put him before Count. Anyway, talking about this is nonsense. I don't see KW going after Schmidt. I see more Lilly than anyone else.
  11. QUOTE(VAfan @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) I switch off a fair amount between this site and the MLB Sox site, though I've posted a lot more in the past. But the one thing that drives me away from here is how long it takes to wade through to find something interesting to read. In between are all these huge personal photos and tag lines and a lot of stuff that may have looked cool the first time you put it up, but after seeing it repeated 10 times in a single thread, becomes awfully tiresome. Y'all can shout me down if you want. But give me a site where I can read 5 messages in a row on one screen of my computer and don't spend my entire time scrolling down, down, down just to find something. Overall I think the posters here are more knowledgeable baseball fans and have better analyses, but frankly it takes way too long to find it. Especially when so many posts are just chit chat and don't really add anything to the discussion. For example, I just looked at the composite trade post. I think that's a good idea. But the whole first page was filled with nothing but puff. Not a single trade idea or analysis. Out of 4 pages, there weren't 3 threads worth reading. Everything else was just empty chatter. And I think the trend is not good. A couple of years ago, I felt like the ratio of seeing a post worth reading to those of zero value was much better. Sorry, that's just the way I feel. WITCH!!!!!!!
  12. Gload was there??? I didn't notice him.
  13. O'Hare and Midway. Seriously, I love O'Hare's and I think Midway's stepped up their game.
  14. I kind of knew they were going to choose Ohio State. They're going to be a powerhouse in 3 or 4 years. Oden would've started anywhere he went. Indy has just been going down hill and he's probably not sure Mike Davis will be there next year. Isn't Ohio State supposed to be put on probation because of the 9 infractions that were found by an investigation by the NCAA, specifically in their basketball program?? If so, why would anyone choose to go there?
  15. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) Willie Harris......you know he's packing heat. LMAO, probably. I would say Frank J. Guillen Carl Pujols M. Bradley Sheffield
  16. This has to be one of the dumbest examples in some time. White Sox were off last night. Dontrelle has had the better career if you want to admit it or not. He's always K'd more people and he has the "sexy" pitch delivery. Quit cryin' little b****es.
  17. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) Holy snap, that's the DeLorean. Pimp ass ride. I wish I was Michael J Fox.
  18. Michael Jordan. Anyone remember that bum??
  19. What about the incomparable D'Angelo Jimenez??
  20. Apparently the Kincks are trying to move Tim Thomas as well. I say they have to move him and Marbury because when the Knicks are ready to compete with their core, those guys will be old. The Knicks got the better player, but they also gave up a future first. Plus they lost a low post presence. As it stands now, Jamal Crawford is on the bench now from what I hear.
  21. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) Found Mariotti's article: http://www.suntimes.com/output/mariotti/cst-spt-jay01.html Nowhere does it say he's correct. And I've browsed others in his archive, this is the only one concerning the White Sox which mentions Phillips. ESPN OTL Nightly. That's when Mariotti said it and Padilla said it. They were on seperate shows(about 2 weeks apart IIRC) and the one guy from ESPN Deportes admitted it too, but he didn't speak much else on it. He just said it's because they know he's a high strung guy and that's good for the White Sox.
  22. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:49 PM) Sure, the two most trusted and unbiased journalists in Chicago. Who is the other columnist? I want to say Rick Morrisy(sp?) but I'm not 100% sure on that. It could be Rogers.
