  1. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Middle reliever or closer? They're all the same. I say get the best guy out there whether it's a setup man or closer. I don't give a damn. Just Git 'R Dunn!!!
  2. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) I don't believe Duque will be going anywhere. One of the main reasons he was signed was his awesome postseason record. It said in the paper today, that they would want him to have at least one rehab start before he pitches for the Sox again, whether it's starting or relieving. They knew what they were getting into when they signed him. As for McCarthy, I'm sure the Sox can carry 12 pitchers again. Exactly. He'll be here. Again, I say just shut him down until after the ASG.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) I must be the only one who says good riddance. I expected nothing out of Duque when they signed him and as far as I'm concerned he's done more than I ever thought he would (he is well over .500) and now Bmac's gonna come in and kick some butt. If Duque gets healthy later on fine, thats a good problem to have. I say they just shut down El Duque from now until the ASG so he could get proper rest. That'd be the smart thing to do. You get a good feel of what BMac could do and you rest El Duque properly.
  4. I agree. I loved it tonight. Great crowd for a Sunday Nighter. Plus Sox win. GOGOGO!!!!!
  5. QUOTE(C_LEE45 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) barry zito please Yes, so he could give up double the amount of runs he does now at the Cell.
  6. KW and Ozzie are overreacting big time. They knew what they were getting themselves into with El Duque and the plan was for him to have 4 "rests" in the season. He's one of our big game pitchers and we're going to need him for when we face the Twins. They knew what they were getting themselves into, so just deal with it.
  7. More Chavez talk. Don't know if it has been posted yet. Sox apparently did talk with Oakland about Eric Chavez and Oakland wanted BMac, Brian Anderson(which I would've given up) + a Starter already in our rotation(which I would not have given up). Apparently, after the Sox said no, they said they weren't going to shop Chavez.
  8. Just got word that one of my friends got tickets tonight, YES!!!!!!
  9. Thanks. Well, I'm going to buy Photoshop at the end of the month(I need to get some money) so I'll have to wait. Anyway, is it possible for someone to make me a wallpaper?? If anyone can, I want the celebration from last night's walkoff HR by AJ as the main background. I want the AJ batflip anywhere in there. I'd also like a "Sox Pride" logo thing in the middle in the red, black, and white and a list of the players on the team on one of the sides. If anyone can do it, I'd appreciate it alot.
  10. Excellent. I hope the Sox pull it out tonight and I hope Contreras has a great outing.
  11. What program do you guys/gals use?? I want to start at least experimenting making wallpapers. Thanks.
  12. Basically the Pacers made the deal because Bender is a number on their cap and the #17 pick, they didn't feel comfortable taking someone there who they could feel would contribute right away. They feel that Devean George and Medvedenko can however and the pick is a throw-in. Don't be suprised if they make another move to get some capspace.
  13. QUOTE(Nokona @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 01:35 PM) How about World Seires MVP? I'd like to see Frank get one first.
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 09:46 AM) Yeah this was a great win, but look at the August schedule. All of these are must win games right now. Talk to me on Labor Day. Sure doesn't hurt to win now though, does it?
  15. QUOTE(Jimenez4MVP @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) American League East New York Yankees New York Mets Boston Baltimore Toronto Central Chicago White Sox Chicago Cubs Cleveland Detroit Minnesota West Oakland LA Angels LA Dodgers Texas Houston National League East Washington Philadelphia Florida Tampa Bay Pittsburgh Central St. Louis Kansas City Cincinatti Milwaukee Atlanta West San Diego San Francisco Seattle Arizona Colorado That is how I would do it.. And the playoff format seems fine how it is A few other things.. I would scrap interleague play.. With this alignment I have there is no reason for it anymore, plus its not even enjoyable anymore.. Everyone just wants to see the close cities clash and ive basically set that up to play into regualr scheduling.. I would also say goodbye to the DH, I think making the pitcher have to bat is how it should really be in all leagues.. It helps strategy play into the game more.. EDIT: I swapped Seattle and LA Dodgers to keep the rival cities theme going Rivalries wouldn't be rivalries anymore. Especially in the city. Plus you give each city less of a chance to win with having both teams of one city in the same division. Cubs-Sox would lose it's luster. There really would be no more Yankees - Red Sox rivalry. Interleague play is meant for those rivalry games. You mean to tell me you rather see the Sox facing a new opponent like the Rockies for the same opponent in the Royals or Tigers?? Interleague play is no worse than regular play. You might get a lopsided game or you might get a real great game. Same goes as facing your own division. I myself would be sick of seeing the White Sox pound on the Royals 30 games a year.
  16. I say it's a good idea, but the wrong player. This team doesn need a long reliever. Currently, instead of stretching out Cotts, we've shortened him. If this team is getting pounded or looks like its about to get pounded in the 3rd inning, we really just have to leave our guys out to dry. We need someone at least as a stopgap so we don't burn out our pen or SP.
  17. Good thing you're not GM. Commissioner rather. It's fine the way it is.
  18. As the saying goes, "If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying!" Anyway, it's all in good hearted nature. It's gamesmenship. I also think MB made the comment about Zambrano because he wanted to show that there are other guys who have experience besides Maddux. Eh well.
  19. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) I really don't understand some Sox fans sometimes. They b**** that not enough people come to the park, then they b**** because certain types of people are at the park. They b**** that the people from neighborhood don't support the team, then they b**** about possible plans to change the make up of the neighborhood. I think some Sox fans would rarther live forever in 2nd or 3rd place as long as the 'right' 15,000 people are in the seats. Seriously. Stop being picky. They're helping filling up the ballpark. They're okay. Only one fan I can't stand and that's Cub fans who come to the game wearing Cubs gear and the Cubs aren't even playing them. Even them, I'll let in the park though if they're paying. What's different between the White Sox showing other fans on the scoreboard and celebrities? I don't see why the White Sox should try their hardest to keep them off the scoreboard. I actually think it's pretty nice to see a celeb at the game as it is to see them anywhere else.
  20. As a PR guy, I wouldn't trade Buehrle now. He's so damn good for the White Sox pissing off the Cubs. I f'n love it.
  21. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) Wait wait wait. Did Rome say that Buehrle was alluding to Maddux or just "someone" on the Cubs? Because if they jumped to the conclusion that it was Maddux, that makes me wonder if they already knew that he does that. Yeah, so far all media outlets just assume he's talking about Maddux. So I'm guessing they suspect the same thing.
  22. Hopefully PK doesn't become a GM. He would absolutely ruin a team.
  23. I'd trade him for Johann, Peavy, Oswalt, Halladay currently. Prior when healthy. That's about it. BMac is a whole different story. Oh, I almost forgot Mike Maroth and Kerry Wood
