  1. Um why is Rowand exempt and people want him to bat in the 3 slot??? The guy has been major suckitude on offense just like PK and Dye. He should be moved down too. I say make it: LF-Podsednik 2B-Iguchi DH-Everett C-Piersynski(I don't give a damn about HR's, I'm just trying to get the runner over) SS-Uribe 3B-Crede 1B-Konerko RF-Dye CF-Rowand Shake PK, Arow and Dye up. It lets them know that if they don't perform, they'll slip off the list. Heck, I'd never play those 3 together until they all get hot. One day I might bench Dye or ARow for Ozuna and Timo.
  2. Buehrle will set the tone. No doubt. As long as Buehrle's up there shortly, it don't matter to me. Just means Rodrigo is going to give me more time to get concessions and go to the potty.
  3. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 13, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Agreed, but just try to tell that to a Cubs fan who says wins for a starting pitcher don't matter. We all know Matt Karchner has a chance to make it for the Cubbies. He's awesome!!! He was also always better than Garland.
  4. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) Talking about different circumstances since shingo does not have one. I thought you were talking about Contreras not having one.
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:54 PM) Wilson is a slightly better version of dye. If he did do what he did in 2003 his career numbers would actually be worse. If anyone could come up with a solid reason why wilson is 8.5 million dollars better than dye i will eat my shoe and record it (by the way stepped in dog s*** today). So it be all that much tastier. Because he is younger. Eat your shoe. NOW!!!!!!!!
  6. QUOTE(103 mph screwball @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:49 PM) Dumping Dye after he supposedly took less money to play for the Sox, would not look good to future free agent's. I just don't see that happening. I hope he gets on track. Yeah, I don't see Dye getting dumped at all this season.
  7. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) I would bet against Barry participation. He'll claim knee issues that will keep him out. He can't play every day anyways. Well Barry will be DHing.
  8. Check out the Dominican Republic's team: And check out the pitching staff of Venazuela: At least we got Freddy Garcia participating as a pitcher. And oh look Maggs will too. If his knee isn't sawed off by then.
  9. Preston would fit in RF for the White Sox. He would put up good numbers at least here. I would like Helton more, but I don't see him being here.
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) Totally different circumstances since he does not have one. He sure does. It was a full no-trade clause, but he said that New York didn't want him anymore and knew they weren't going to give him anymore chances. He said if someone doesn't want you in their house, then you leave. He said he likes Ozzie and that since the White Sox wanted him, that's why he waived his no trade clause. Of course El duque coming over is even better for him. See, there's way less pressure on Contreras(even if making the playoffs and stuff) because the White Sox are a low-key team and if he blows something, we'll be pissed, but we'll forgive.
  11. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) Depending on who selects it, you can book Dontrelle over Buehrle . Marketing. Don't know. Dontrelle is getting as much pub as Buehrle these days. Everyone considers Buehrle a top 3 young pitcher. Most people know that Dontrelle tends to slow down in the 2nd half(even pitched out of the bullpen in their WS run).
  12. QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) I just wish they could get the Cell right, it still has BLUE WALLS!! They probably don't care. It's the last game they'll be making.
  13. Kirk will earn it in due time. I don't think he got robber. If anything, Chandler or Noc got robbed(Noc only got one vote).
  14. Edinger is gone. Bears fans should be happy. Brien has one bad game in his career and that was last year's playoff game. He's still a damn good kicker though and better than the declining Edinger.
  15. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ May 12, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) I think Buehrle should go before Garland. He's more proven and is better than a couple of the pitchers that the ESPN article had. Definately true. They do need a lefty on that staff(other than Mulder).
  16. BA has this as USA's team: I honestly don't know why Roger would like to pitch in that unless he's playing baseball next year. He'll be 42 and I'm fully convinced that he would just like to spend time with his family and this is his last year.
  17. Should he be chosen to represent America in the World Cup of Baseball in '06?? By then, I think Roger would be retired and with the way Garland is pitching, he is one of the best young American pitchers(Ben Sheets being probably the best). What do you guys think?
  18. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 12, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) s***ty weather caused that. Once things clear up you'll see some mondo crowds. Hopefully so, at least we got Cub fans giving us their money. I wonder how many of them actually know that Shammy isn't playing any games in the series. Probably 1.
  19. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 12, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) Every time I see Konerko batting he always lays off the pitches thrown right over the plate then goes golfing at a pitch in the dirt or away and strikes out or pops up. This is just maddening to me. This is exactly what I'm seeing with him and Dye. Both basically are saying, we aren't swinging on the first 2 pitches and every pitcher knows that. The pitchers usually throw a fastball over the middle of the plate within the first 2 pitches and give them junk afterward and that's when they decide it's time to swing. I could expect this from Dye, but not PK.
  20. No suprise. Dye probably would've avoided the list if he would just play the defense he's capable of, but he's not even doing that. Kong is scoring in buches, so his power numbers are a bit deceiving.
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ May 12, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) Second.. when Sidney called this morning to ask me how many tickets I needed for the weekend I asked him if they thought they would play tonight and he said he didn't know but that he knew that the O's had already decided they would not play a double on Sunday... Wouldn't that be forfeiting the game then? You are at the feet of your schedule, you can't just say, I don't want to play today. Especially considering they don't have a game the day after Sunday and they are playing in KC Tuesday. That means they have to play. I don't think they could just play the makeup game/s at Baltimore because that would be loss of revenue and 1 more away game than they were supposed to have. If US Cellular is undergoing major weather problems, they would have to play it on a neutral site if anything. Just like FLA last year.
  22. Screw Wrigley. Why are you feeding their cash cow??? Go to the game at US Cellular Field. Let the stupid Cub fans give us more money. Don't have it the other way around.
  23. Deal doesn't make sense for both team. The Sox would have to give up at least BMac or Sweeney and Anderson mixed in with a middle prospect. Oakland likes ripping teams off. If they don't, they don't make a deal.
