  1. Marte strikes out all 3 of his batters faced. Vizcaino comes in.
  2. Look for Tyson to possibly be added to the suspended list for attempting to kick a guy on the ground. He was immediately ejected and probably will get suspended for it.
  3. I always thought the plan this offseason was supposed to be 1-6Innings: Starter 7th: Marte/Vizcaino 8th: Hermy 9th: Shingo I guess not. Hopefully the Sox rock Rhodes.
  4. There goes the lead. Crap. Still, if that's all Contreras gives up, I'm still happy because most of us aren't expecting much out of him.
  5. Remember, it's never too late to join Crede's Crew. Just PM me.
  6. QUOTE(tony72 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) I always like the New Comiskey - even before the renovations.. I remember at the old park you couldn't see half the time because of the poles..it was cramped and uncomfortable. Then the new park was built...no poles...spacious..comfortable (remember how great everyone thought it was in 1991?) Then Camden Yards, Jacobs Field and wah..wah..wah...(stale..steep upper deck..blue seat..wah)... Personally..these new retro parks are no longer unique..everyone is trying to outcharm the other.. To me U.S. Cellular is a combination of retro and modern which I think makes it a special ballpark. It does look better with the changes. But I have been to many parks and think ours is one of the best (and one of the most underrated). As the neighborhood improves - our park's image will increase as will attendance. No one thought Wrigley was too great in the 1960's and 1970's until that neighborhood became Yuppieville. I think the area around Comiskey will actually be much nicer in five years than the area around Wrigley Field now. You summed it up perfectly. Once the neighborhood becomes great around it, they'll love the park. I already love the park. I think it's fantastic.
  7. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Nothing better than playoff hockey... I have to agree. Ever since I started working at the United Center I got into hockey(even though that was the year they got Theo Flurry) and it's fun to watch. Playoff Hockey has been fantastic. So intense and all the games are close and you see tons of upsets. I love hockey.
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) I hope they do add back some capacity that they lost. They can sell every bit of 50,000 seats for the Cubs, Yankees, and Red Sox series, in addition to opening. I am not sure what they would do to add back now, but who knows. But I'll take your bet, because all indications seem to indicate that they are done with the big work. If it wasn't for the color change of the seats, no one would have ever known that was even happening. Yep. I hope they add some seating, but I don't even think that will happen. I don't know where they would. A Hr Porch would cost like 20 Million, wouldn't it?? I know it would cost big money and the seats were always a plan to change around this time when the stadium was built. Alot of people kept on complaining about wanting green and so they decided to change the color too with it so it's more enjoyable for those green fanatics. Unless the White Sox were to get sponsorship for their parking lots I guess(I don't know what else they could sell) they wouldn't have enough money for a HR Porch. If anything, you might see some different plants in the park next year or a different sprinkler system at most I'd imagine.
  9. No benching Crede. He'll surprise you all this year.
  10. I say that the playoffs are so good they can't declare a winner.
  11. QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) I couldnt have said it better myself, thats exactly what I want.. I dont wanna cruise through the season beating everyone I play 10 - 2 thats not fun at all.. The more realistic I can get the game, the more I enjoy it.. How's it not realistic? I scouted players, overpaid for the ones I wanted(by alot) and drafted right. It took me a long time to get out of the red.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) No one is frowning upon 'winning'. But it's unrealistic. You won 130 games one year, and went 26-0 in one month. That's terribly unrealistic, and you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. Most of us like winning, just, competitive winning. This will sound nerd-ish, but having to work for your win -- a 3-2 game in extra innings, something like that. Ending up 89-73 and winning the WildCard by a game, sort of like that... But I did. I had to assemble the team by myself with the players the Sox have. I had to wheel and deal my way to get those players. I don't play the regular season because I'm ranked #1 every year so I just sim that and my team wins. Plus I keep a cheap payroll(75 million) and sign cheap, young good managers. What's wrong with that??? I play in the playoffs against the computer and my brothers and sometimes I lose against my older brother. I only played the regular season my first season of owner mode and ever since I simmed because I wanted to see my GM skills. I swear I'm not lying. Oh yeah, just in case anyone didn't know, Bracey Wright is declaring for the draft so that's good news for the Illini.
  13. I like my Cowboys schedule alot. Good job officials who make the schedule.
  14. QUOTE(SuperSteve @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) I think everyone of us could do that on Rookie. I would actually do a hell of alot better. I wouldn't lose a Pro game either...I find playing like that boring. Who said I was playing on rookie??? I have it set up on MVP for Owner mode and when I actually play a game, I have it on All-Star with no sliders since Pro was getting ridiculous. I'm thinking about going to MVP for that too though since I still score 8 runs a game usually when I play on All-Star. Sorry, didn't know winning was so frowned upon around these parts.
  15. QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) That sounds real boring... Right now im 12 - 5 (playing every game) and I came off a 9 game win streak to drop my last two.. I want to find more ways to lose, I hate winning every game.. The Phillies did kick Smoltz ass last night though, gave up 5 HR's #1 Tim Hudson is 2 - 1 with a 3.00 ERA #2 John Smoltz is 2 - 2 with a 4.17 ERA #3 Mike Hampton is 2 - 1 with a 5.44 ERA #4 John Thomson is 3 - 0 with a 0.47 ERA #5 Horacio Ramirez is 3 - 0 with a 0.42 ERA I do not get why the computer cant touch me when I throw with the 4th and 5th starters but when I got Hudson or Smoltz on the mound they usually hit me.. Also, my RP usually never get touched up, I think my highest RP era is like 3.38 and thats because he gave up one run against the Nationals the other night when I lost in 14th inning Hitting wise I am actually walking now, my 8th hitter had 3 BB's the other day but I think its because I have the pitcher following and the computer just throws around him.. Andruw Jones is a badass, hes batting .311 with 7 HR's and 17 RBI's so far, and Mondesi has 7 HR's as well but thats like half of his total hits on the year.. So I have lost 2 games in a row now, hopefully with my adjusted sliders the game will be more life like.. I dont want it to be like when I was the Sox and was 21 - 2 to start the year, Buehrle was throwing 1 hitters and striking out 20 guys a start.. You find winning boring??? You have to consistantly put out a winner(cheap one) to get fans in the seats and to make profit to upgrade your stadium. I also started out with a low budget(even though I failed 3 times with a medium budget) and it's been hard as hell to get where I'm at, but it makes it that much better. Seriously, how could you hate winning?? Anyway, I finished with a record of 130-32. My 24year old 3B won the MVP with a .372BA, 39HR's, 102RBI's, 52SB, & 178Runs. That's great considering he was my leadoff hitter. Jesus Brown won his 3rd consecutive Cy Young with a 26-3 Record in 253.2IP. He has a 1.81ERA 220K's and 55 Walks. I swept the Silver Slugger Awards, but only had 2 GGers despite having the best fielding team. Pitching Rotation: Jesus Brown: 26-3, 1.81ERA, 220K's Octavio Urban: 23-4 2.41ERA, 188K's Juan Bradford: 22-5 3.30ERA 158K's Dennis Randa: 16-6 3.83ERA 152k's Olmeda Cesar: 7-1 3.19ERA 38K's(67.2IP because McCarthy got injured)
  16. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) I wouldn't assume the home run porch is dead. The story contradicts itself when it says the renovation is done while they are still changing the seats. The out of town scoreboard is going to be changed. I always assumed they were waiting until they erected the porch, because it would have to be moved. I haven't heard anything about the out of town scoreboard. Also the seats was just a matter of time. I guess you could call it a renovation, but it really had to be done(even if the renovation didn't take place) because the life span of those seats were 15 years and it's coming really close to that time. I'm 100% sure that HR Porch thing is dead.
  17. I think DeRon is a lock, but still wants to keep his options open so it doesn't look like he's disrespecting the Illini and so it doesn't look like he just wants money.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) Trib is reporting that Scheyer has not dropped Arizona from his list of potential schools, and that some one was reporting what he said in a joke. The finalists are Illinois, Duke, and Arizona... Wisconson is out. Yeah, it was Mike North who was doing the reporting and Jon Scheyer told him to correct it and say that Arizona is still in the running, but they really aren't. I see him going to Duke. He'll be their Reddick of the next 4 years.
  19. Currenty I'm 75-11. We won our 5th consecutive World Series(or is it 6th??) anyway, we blew up the team after the championship(only 5 fielders and 3 starting pitchers and the rest of the relievers remain). We went with a youth movement and it's paying off. Jesse Allen got moved back out to the OF to make room for a stud 2B(Brad Eros) and Royce Merced was traded for a stud 21 year old phenom who already has 143 HR's in his career.
  20. I bet the people over at WSI are dissapointed because they're not getting their HR Porch. Thank God. That would've closed the open concourse up way too much.
  21. That's a nice one. I'll use that until someone could fulfill my request. Thanks KipWellsFan
  22. I want a White Sox logo on a black background, but glossy like. Like when ESPN shows White Sox logo and it's shiny and has a certain glossy feel to it. I want it exactly like that.
