  1. I agree with Ozzie's lineup. He's the manager, he knows what he's doing. If Uribe struggles he probably will put Rowand in the 2 hole. Also guys, remember it's just January. Tons of time to change things up.
  2. QUOTE(Hall of Famer @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) I heard they are giving them to their own scalpers who then go out on the street and sell them for 20$. The whole "for a good cause" thing is kind of lost. That's probably right. Some guy is going to buy them all up and try to sell them for 1050% the original price.
  3. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 02:04 PM) Walks only matter in relation to OBP. OBP Uribe 327, Rowand 361. SLG Uribe 506, Rowand 544. BAV Uribe 283, Rowand 310. The choice is obvious. Cooper is the pitching coach. He felt that it would be better to use the off days to rest Hernandez. Give him more time off between starts & less starts than the other 4. Cooper's had a lot of experience with pitcher's injuries. Ozzie hasn't. I think Cooper is the better voice on the subject. The risk is quite large. If Ozzie pushes the 39yr old too hard too fast we could lose him for good in the 2nd half. Cooper's plan tries to avoid that. Ok, but I wasn't talking about walks. I was talking about bunts, seems as if you tottally disregarded my argument. I say he would is better at bunting and probably a little faster than Rowand, but Rowand is the better hitter. Also, you failed to pay attention to the fact that I said El Duque will still probably have skipped starts being in the 3rd slot. Plus the fact that it has been noted that he's in the best shape of his career may play a role. I rather have El Duque at 3 than Contreras or Garland there. El Duque will still have days off, he'll still have time in between starts so I don't know what the problem is. He's the 3rd best pitcher on this staff. His numbers prove that.
  4. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) I'm getting concerned with Ozzie. I think he's going to break this team. I don't agree with him on his lineup nor do I agree with him on his use of El-Duque. Cooper agrees with me. His lineup: Pods, Uribe, Dye, Koney, Everett, Rowand, AJ, Crede, Harris Rowand out hit Uribe, Dye, & Everett last yr. So wtf? Rowand should be #2, & Uribe #6. His rotation: Buerhle, Garcia, Hernandez, Contreras, Garland Cooper says he wants to maximize the off-days to skip starts for Hernandez. Ozzie completely ignores that. So I guess the 24 yr old will be sittling on the bench & the 39 yr old being the work horse. Dumb. Hernandez should be skipped whenever possible. Eh, I don't disagree with it simply because Uribe is better at putting a bunt down than Rowand. No doubt Rowand is the better hitter, but Uribe is better at what Ozzie's trying to do at the top of the order. I also like the rotation. Hernandez will have games skipped still. Just not off the bat. I don't know what's wrong with that. And the plan is to have Buehrle, Freddy and El Duque having the most oppurtunities against the Twins.
  5. Increase if we stay in contention. The longer a tight race or us winning goes, the more the attendance goes up. No one will show up in April as always, but they will starting in late June if we're in it.
  6. I would like 2 as well. Probably give 5 bucks extra or something.
  7. Well the quality is poor on Comcast SportsNet. I much rather have the games on FSN. There's always some audio/video problem going on during every game.
  8. I'm going to say 2003 simply because that team was very very talented. It had Buehrle, Colon, a good Loaiza, Garland, an All-Star Carl Everett, Frank the Tank, Carlos Lee, hell it was loaded. Our bullpen was loaded too. Our reserves were pretty good too. Anytime you hear someone from the Yankees saying, "Last year, the only team we feared playing if they made the playoffs were the White Sox because they were so talented and stacked," you've done something good.
  9. I honestly don't think Sox will get him and I also don't think he gets traded at all unless they get Delgado and decide they need money spent elsewhere as well. Castillo will probably be with them this upcoming year and I'm 100% sure he isn't coming to the Sox. Sorry White Sox Nation.
  10. Dr Dre's rapping protege' "Game" wears a Sox hat alot. Im sure pics could be found on google easily.
  11. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) Cora's an upgrade too. He is a very patient hitter who is able to get on whether's he's in a hit streak or struggling. Harris on the other hand only shows patience when he's struggling. That's not a good trait. I don't think Cora's an upgrade at all. You might as well give the PT to Willie because I think Willie will improve in the 9 hole and be better than Cora this season or at least very similar.
  12. Rollins is very inconsistant. Don't let his numbers fool you. Juggernaut is looking at the right stats. When you look at the right stats, that's not looking too deeply in them, that's just trying to find the right matchups. We're trying to win the division and you have to start by getting players who fare well against the opponents in that division. I don't know if Rollins is that. He sucked at the beginning of last year, turned it on in late June, had a crappy August, and came back strong in September. His glove is great, but I say no because he'll cost alot.
  13. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) I will buy as many of them as they will let me. Then from there we can figure something out like send me $2.00 and a self addressed stamped envelope or something, and I'll send you the wristband. I will definitely try to figure out a way to help out as many people as possible. I would definately send you a money order or a check and some extra cash for helping out. Probably like 5 dollars extra.
  14. Why didn't the Sox do this? A minor league deal and also he'll probably be a good DH for them. I agree, he probably can't play defense anymore, but I think Juan Gone can still hit.
  15. i would definately want one......at least one for the tsunami relief....that would b awesome.....first n foremost for the sox though, they better be sellin those in the season
  16. i would definately want Soriano. He is far and away one of the best 2B in the league. That's why the Yanks would want him over anybody. He's a superstar 2B. He would be a great leadoff hitter and a better #2 hitter.
  17. Okay, say we were to trade Garland and Konerko for him. What if we did that and got Dough Mientkiewicz(seems to be pissed off about PT and Boston is pissed off he won't give back the ball) and also end up signing Iguchi with the leftover dough. Also wouldn't we have money left over(a little bit at least) to pursue a mid season trade??? so PK+ Garland = Vazquez, Iguchi, and Mientkiewicz
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxmatt @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) How about Bobby jenks? Hell no. A Man that can throw 100 MPH and possibly could become a starter for us in the future or a great closer???? I'm not giving him up.
  19. this guy has played way better than Garland over his career and has one bad half of a season and people are talking like he's esteban loaiza after getting a 3 run HR lead. He's ten times better than Garland and the league knows that he's better than Garland....saying anything different is just speaking out of your ass. Look at the career stats and you'll see. Vazquez and Garland don't belong in the same breath.
  20. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...s_cws&fext=.jsp great signing. I didn't think Nen signed with us, but I guess he did. Anyway, this is great for the Sox. Speed and Power. I love it.
  21. link just in case no one provided it: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...s_cws&fext=.jsp Great signing. Now one more signing. Does anyone know about Nen and if we're going to sign him?
  22. about jose cruz jr deal, i think that's to replace Berkman's bat, not Beltran's
