My opinion, one of the worst trades of all time, none other than Keith Foulke for Billy Koch! Need I say more

Say yes to what than?

My WSox Dream two signings for Next year

If the Cubs deal Sosa anytime in the near future it will be to Baltimore for Julio and Hairston. But I think this enough of Cubs talk, especially Sosa talk, last time I checked this was a Sox board. I would be happy if I never heard another thing about the Cubs again (except of course that they failed to live up to expectations again and the Curse lives on) -

Why in the world would the Cubs do that trade? Unless they think that Glendon Rusch isn't a good enough 5th starter at 2 yrs/4 mil for the #s he put up last year. -
Is that why he got benched?
-
I'm happy with the fact that we are trying to sign him to be our #3 pitcher when both the Angels and BoSox are trying to sign him to be their #2. That makes me feel good about our team ( now if we had the same Offense they had I'd feel great )

If he gets traded doesn't his option become guaranteed or is that what the union let him restructure? -

Doesn't Sosa make the same if not more money than Andruw Jones? -

I hope no one else even replies to this! I can't even believe I'm dignifying you with a response. -
I think if Uribe is in the 2 spot SPod will steal a lot less bases. With AJ in the #2 spot it would open SPod up to run which would allow AJ to get him into 3rd with 1 out just by getting the ball in play (which he does quite well).

So he contracted a few STDs. Those books they feed everyone in health class tell you that like 60% of sexually active males have them. That probably means like 90% of professional athletes. It's nothing new to them I'm sure.

I really think the White Sox have zero chance at Odalis Perez. Us getting between the Angels and the BoSox in a bidding war with no hometown advantage? I don't see us winning it!

What good would the signing of Steve Kline. Yes he is a dominant left handed reliever. But our bullpen is already stacked and that role is already filled by Marte (not quite as good but still pretty damn impressive). I just feel the money it would take to sign Kline could be used elsewhere in finding another bat for the bench. I agree with Lima though, that would bring some great energy in and that guy cracks me up. It's Lima Time!

I definately think we are still in this. I follow the Cubs quite a bit ( 4 of 6 in my family are Cubs fans, the men know what they are doing in my family ) and I learned a little about Clement over the last few years. Clement seems to be one of the few stand up guys in baseball. He is a deeply religious guy who cares a lot about his family. Last year around trade deadline time he said he would be traded if it was for the good of his team, but would not prefer because he would not want his family to have to move. So when I read those quotes from the article in the paper, I wouldn't blow them completely off as simply an agent's maneuvering. I believe that some of them might have some true merit to them, coming from a good person.

With all the talk of who the Sox are going to sign to play 2B or platoon or be the utility man in the infield the names of Cora, Polanco, and Cairo seem to be the only ones that keep coming up. But why not Belliard. It is reported that the Indians are supposed to non-tender him on Monday. He hit .282 last year with a dozen homers and can play 2B/3B (we'd still have no true backup at short). On top of those numbers, he hit .366 in the Cell with 3 of his 12 homeruns. This, along with AJ, would bring some of the offense back that we lost with CLee and Mags.

I think its time that everyone stops hoping for Perez. We have no shot at Perez. Once Clement gets sign, we have a shot at home only because he wants to stay in Chicago, how would be able to outbid either Anaheim or Boston? Its simply Clement or a lower tiered FA pitcher, not Clement or Perez, it is simply Clement.

3 : games with 1 run given up that are losses 3 : ND with 0-1 runs through 6+ IP 3 : games with 2 runs given up through 7+ IP that are losses I'm not saying you would win everyone of those on a contender, but most likely you would win at least 6 of the 9. 6 more wins give him 22 wins. Not bad for someone who everyone is calling over the hill and over priced. If the deal of Garland, Marte, Sweeney, + PTBL is correct, I don't know how KW has jumped at it already. That is a steal for this type of HOF pitcher, IMO.

He's on now

Anytime you let what Mariotti thinks of it effect your actions, you have a problem.

Have the Sox introduced any of the new guys?
KWs OK for Me replied to Cali's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Pods is still in Japan so that's his reason -
I think he's worth 4 mil and that he will return to his former form (~.300, 15 hr, 80 rbis)
-
Hell yes pick him up, if the Sox still have the money to sign Odalis after that this team would be in great shape!
