  1. From what I've been reading the Mini-Manny is supposed to be non-tendered or offered up in a trade sometime soon. If he is this would be a great pick up for the Sox. Decent average hitter with a little bit of pop in his bat who hits doubles like it's his job.
  2. ICK. No way. If the Zambrano was Carlos and not Victor than yes. Piazza doesn't play catcher anymore, nor would we want him to, we'd be downgrading at 1B by going with Piazza and lose our DH for the beginning of the year with Everett. Zambrano would be a middle-bottom of the rotation type guy and there is no need for that when there are still a few quality FA pitchers on the market. I reiterate, ICK. That trade would leave a sour taste in my mouth.
  3. Funny thing is that the White Sox were actually able to hit with RISP. They were second in the league in BA with RISP behind only . . . you guessed it the World Champion Red Sox. The White Sox batted .291 with RISP and if they are able to keep that up with there new top of the order I foresee good things from the South Side. Uribe, Rowand, Thomas, Konerko all excelled with RISP. If this continues to be the case the Sox will produce more runs on a consistent basis. And with the addition of SPod and Tim Raines we will certainly be running the bases paths better and more. So they will have more oppurtunity to hit with RISP. I'm quite excited about this change in the team. Girls dig the long ball, but it don't win championships!
  4. Another bonus of the SPod trade might be the fact that SPod is getting the hell out of Miller Park. Podsednik was a .275 hitter away from our northern neighbor and a .213 in Miller Park. I think a little change of scenery could be good for him and us. Just a thought, with the change of scenery and better hitters behind him I don't see why he can't return to being ~.300 hitter. Imagine how many bases he'd steal than!
