wow, what a self-fulfilling prophecy....it takes people spending money on the team and at the park to buy high-priced free agents, so lets all sit at home so we can b**** 5 months before the season is over when we have the best record in baseball....worst thread EVER
-
look, i know everyone here loves aaron rowand but hes hitting 270 with 5 f'ing homers. with the minor league talent in our system i dont see room for him in the system next year. the sox will never let anderson rot in the minors and rowand is a valuable commodity on the market....
-
remember that ron kittle was something like 29 when he had his ROY performance and borchard is still learning the game. i see no reason why we shouldnt let him split some time with anderson next season, presuming we are giving a spot to anderson (probably rowands...but who knows).....
-
did anyone else see his scout video that mlb.com had when he was drafted?....he looks like prince fielder, just a huge guy.....hes 19, hitting 440 (yeah its early)....but still

I smell another tim hummel/aarpn miles coming here...
-
brian, who is the best fellow prospect (pitcher and hitter) youve seen thus far in the minors (from other teams)?
-
brian, what do you feel you need to imrove on the most in order to become that 5 tool major league all-star?
-
Also, the M's had a 19 year old on the mound last night and he pitched great. 19 years old and already in AAA- I have a feeling this guy's gonna be a good one. you ahve a feeling this guys going to be a good one? hes the most talked about prospect in baseball right now....your feeling is a consensus

Carl Everett A- Paul Konerko C- Ross Gload C Willie Harris B Tadahito Iguchi A+ Juan Uribe B- Joe Crede B+ A.J. Pierzinski C Chris widger B+ Scott Podsednik B- Aaron Rowand C- Jermaine Dye D Timo Perez C- Pablo Ozuna C Mark Buerhle B Freddy Garcia A- Jose Contreras A Orlando Hernandez A- Jon Garland A+ Cliff Polite A Neal Cotts C Luis Vizcaino B Damaso Marte B Dustin Hermanson A+ Shingo Takatsu C i still think contreras has been our 2nd most important pitcher this year.....i expected el duque to be alright but there was that chance that contreras would put up a 6 era ...... so far so good though and hes shown flashes of being a dominant pitcher

did anyone watch the dodgers game and see craig counsell get hit. he leaned into the pitch much more than crede did and there wasnt even an argument. .

wow, these two teams cant execute to save their lives...
-
this may belong in the minor league post but im putting it here because it goes with the theme...what makes this team even more exciting is how well our prospecets are playing so far (i dont care about charlottes record).....anderson i killing the ball, fields is killing the ball, rogowski is killing the ball, alex gonzalez is hitting .333.....sean tracey is throwing well, gio gonzalez is #5 on BA's prospect hot sheet, liotta was honorable mention..josh fields is throwing well.....oh man

its games like today that show even if we end up winning 90 games...the twins will always win more. they just never let these things happen and it seems to happen to us every ga,e. hell we are getting shut down offensively every game. -

contusion of the left something or other in the shoulder...everett is day to day according to the tribe broadcasters -
whats scary is how much depends upon the twins. if santana is still santana and radke and joe mays pitch in top form all year, then we could win 95 games and still be out.....
-
you guys may not like hawk for being too praiseworthy but ed farmer is twice as bad. i cant count the number of times ive heard him say "well all we need is a three run homer here and a couple of solo shots next inning and we are back in this game"
-
look, im not here to say borchard is going to be a superstar but people keep saying "its time for him to move on" as if we should just let him go or trade him for a 35 year old pioneer league outfielder who weighs 300 pounds. at one point, scouts who know a hell of a lot more about baseball than any of us ever will know called him the best power prospect since mark mcgwire..there was a reason we payed him 5 million dollars. so whats the problem with just running him out at charlotte for the next couple years. something could click, its not a ridiculous notion...we all saw chris singleton and scott posednik and how they were horrendous until they were 28 (yes singleton was only good for one year but thats not the point). the point is, thats what AAA is for. keep him down there and let him keep trying to figure things out. ozzie says he works his ass off and its better than running a 32 year old former steroid user reject who actually had a lower batting average than joe in the outfield last year.

casey rogowski is the new dan pasqua

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) agreed. We could have one round of boos for all the greedy a$$holes like Hermanson who switched teams for more money. you cant quote ayn rand in you sig and then complain about people taking advantage of their most economically beneficial opportunity, which happens to be making the most money possible.

god the angels are going to be so good next year
