QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) I had this thought about Sox Fans as just being a beligerant blowhards. It seems like every team's fans think that of other team's fans. It's refreshing to see someone willing to see beyond the stereotypes. Oh, and just in case there are other lurkers out there looking for stereotype reinforcement . . . . . . . . . I got you're Twins right here:

QUOTE(Yoda @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) Talking about trading the youngsters (Addison’s post and sig ^ ^ ^ ) here are Bajenaru’s pitching stats: 3-1 1.16ERA 46.2IP 29H 6ER 56SO NOTE: He was not called up. Jenks instead was. IMO, KW is waiting to trade Baj, and a couple of other guys, for Schmidt or some other SP. I much rather prefer Oswalt, but that's just me. NO WAY the Astros give up Oswalt. They'd trade Clemens first. And that won't happen either.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) God watches to much tv, he thinks the Sox only care about the Cubs.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 08:07 AM) ...Apparently our winning is starting to bother these s***heads. :fthecubs I think so. Yesterday on the Score, Mike Mulligan was claiming that Buehrle was the best pitcher going right now (arguably true). He noted Clemens and Pedro but pointed out that they were old and a potential GM would rather take a young durable stud like Buerhrle. Well, suddenly, all those "above the fray" cub fans who don't follow nor care about the Sox, turned into expert Sox observers as the were spouting the vitriol and tearing down the pedestal that Mulligan was building for Buehrle. It was really getting ugly. Sad and pathetic.

Just for the record, a thread like this was my idea back in the offseason.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) i know what you are saying. I listened today for about 20 minutes and I was totally blown away by his theories and approaches on dealing with various problems with teams. He is in his own world. Those that can, do. Those that fell flat on their faces go get paid to talk about it on TV.

QUOTE(gsoxs1 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) So far with both players helping thier respective teams. Espically Carlos still beating up on the Cubs. Does anyone know the 2005 win shares between Pods and Lee. Just Curious. On a side not can anyone really remember a tarde that has helped both teams like this? Didn't see an answer on the first page of post so here it is: Lee 13 WS Podsednik 9 WS

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) Finally: Double plays. I dont think I have seen such great double plays in several years. Even with Ozuna and Wilie filling in, I have extreme confidence that we can turn every DP that we see. Willie has an awesome jump throw this weekend and Pablo turned a great one last night. Good post. I especially wanted to comment on this part though. For the past few years I always thought that Valentin was the key to the Sox awesome DP performance, but they've been able to keep up that performance without him and without any consistent member of the combination. That would lead me to believe that they just really emphasize DPs throughout the organization and in trade evaluations. Good thing too. It's a pitchers best friend.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) If only it wasn't necesary for that to be posted all of the time Unlike the newbie Kyyle23 I don't read thru every thread (not sure why I read thru this one either) but that was a good, well-thought-out post, JimH (and it should have been considering all the practice you've gotten). Let's fix the bullpen before we worry about our slick fielding 3Bman.

Sorry fantasy GM's, Sox not ready to deal

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) Don't worry Yas, as soon as the Sox give up a run in one inning there will be plenty to talk about again. To be serious for a moment though, I do think the bullpen needs a tweak. And the bench. Upgrades should be available in those two areas but frankly that's all I see them doing. I agree. No big blockbuster this year (a first place team doesn't need one). A key tweak or two is all. -
QUOTE(JoshPR @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Pardon my ignorance but What's the difference between a Mod and Admins.? That's a good question Josh. Is there a difference?

QUOTE(Adam G @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 07:42 AM) I hope Farmer and Rooney make the move. I've always liked them. I could do without Farmer. :sleep -
Finally! Someone who will do something around here. Congrats!

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) Murph is the motherf***ing man IMO and an absolute joy to listen to. What's your specific beef? And Boers is right in that the history of our franchise absolutely SUCKS. Currently, we have no players that the casual fan can get behind other than what, Frank Thomas? I can concede these things, and I'm hoping that others can as well. Just laugh it off. We're not sexy at all, we're like Joan Cusack in a bathing suit. AS LONG AS WE WIN BABY!!!!!!! Winning the WS (or at least going to one) is all about ME! I don't care what anybody else thinks about it.

QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) I'd say this team is VERY conventional in terms of its construction: lead-off man, a good #2 hitter, some sluggers, good defensive infielders, outfielders that can cover a lot of ground, 5 good starting pitchers, and a good bull-pen. Sounds like a recipe for success to me! You know, you're right. Poor choice of words I guess. I guess I should have said "goes against popular media wisdom". Now there's an oxymoron for ya!

Yeah. I've got IE here at work and I got a warning message about a file named "index.php". I didn't have IE open it, rather had it saved to disk. I have firefox at home so I'll be interested to see what happens there. -
QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) I'd like anothe reliever. Honestly that's about it. We hoepfully will have a veteran bench guy in everett. I think crede will do for now. I've been bouncing around 3B trades in my head for a couple weeks now but I'll have to agree with you. Plus it goes against the conventional wisdom, which is how Kenny built this team in the first place. It would have to be a stud reliever though, like Guardado.
