Oddly enough, I as an employee, have been dealing with the same situation. I have been looking hard for a job and going on a few interviews. Of course, it is hard to interview outside of business hours so I have been suddenly wearing much nicer clothes to work and cutting out early or going to "pick up family member from airport." I think my boss figured it out becuase out of nowhere, he called me into the office and without saying he knew or suspected, he gave me a pretty good raise. So now I have a second and third interview with two companies and I don't want to rule out my options but I feel some of my good will and negotiating power was lost. Any suggestions?

I was expecting all of this overnight. We now have a few inches but it looks like it is getting horrible.

Slapshot is tops on any list, followed by Caddyshack. After that, Eight Men Out, Rocky, Happy Gilmore, Miracle.

That is more Swisher info that I could ever hope for. Of course I don't hope for much in terms of Nick Swisher.

I dropped nearly 40 pounds the year the Sox won the WS. Due to some family and work situations, in 2006, I slowed down going to the gym and was eating out more. I put it all back on. I am trying again and down 10 since New Years. I actually enjoy working out. It's the eating that is hard. Mon - Thurs, no problems. The weekends are killers. Then before you know it, there are birthdays, baptisms, and everything else to throw you off. The other night it took me 2-1/2 hours to get to work and the same to get home. I woke up at 4:30 to snowblow the driveway before that and had to do it again when I got home. No excuses, but cooking a light meal was not going to happen that night. Oh well, I am trying.

I'll add another. Claim Jumper. There is one in Northbrook and another in Hoffman Estates. The meatloaf is great, but make sure you save room for dessert, they are huge and amazing.

Chris Berman goes apesh**
retro1983hat replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I have and always will hate Chris Berman. He is such a tool. Does anyone think his act is remotely funny? When he does the Home Run Derby I want to shoot the TV. -
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 10:50 AM) My favorite fast food chain is Chipotle. While I do like Chipotle, I feel the workers are given cash for the least amount of meat they put on the burrito. Sometimes it is a joke. But I do like the food. Also, if anyone has been to any of the Tacos El Norte restaurants in the NW burbs, it is worth it. Best Tacos Ever!!!

The guiltiest of the guilty pleasures from reality TV returns tonight. PARADISE HOTEL 2 is on WPWR and Fox Reality Channel. Four years ago, I watched the first series and it was so unbelievably trashy that I watched every episode.

Overall I liked the episode, but was disappointed they started the year with a Hurley Flash Forward. I don't really like his character. But that's just MHO. Anyways, interested to see where this is all going. Too bad for the writer's strike that we don't get the full season. BTW, anyone have any news on the writer's strike?

Took 2-1/2 hours to get towork and I was the last one here. No snow day in manufacturing.

Kelly Pickler can sing, dance and parade in front of me any time she wants.

I know AI is trying to be nicer this year, but the auditions are just not the same without the idiot parade. I really don't care too much about people's back stories in the auditions. Give me the morons.

I loved Lost the first year, then hated it, then really hated it, then at the end of last year loved it again. As for the writer's strike, Lost and 24 are the two shows I was totally looking forward to an uninterupted run. Doh!!!

Mitt Romney has a 1997 Oldsmobile in mint condition for you.

Thursday is the premier of the shortened season. Here's a quiz on the first few years: http://buzzsugar.com/995862 I got 1/2 right.

I saw it being built and have stayed there. Good brewery in the back as well. This has got to hurt going into Super Bowl week.

I have no problems with trashy tv. I think this show was boring as hell though. So much time between questions. It was just dumb.
-
It's a television show first and foremost. Last night when they showed the montage of singers singing that Carrie Underwood song and showed the judges reactions was all fake. The judges never see those times when they make the singers sing a song for the montages.

Last night was San Diego. Pretty boring as far as the audition shows go. I liked the Irish girl at the end. The only funny one for me was the girl who thought she sounded like Mariah Carey.

I have a bunch when I gamble and play golf. Blackjack: All chips need to be properly stacked in front of me. No different denominations mixed. Second, and most important, the chip I put in the circle for the bet must be exactly in the middle of the circle. If it's not, I have to fix it. I have been reprimanded for this by dealers. Poker: I can't have the big ugly pile in the pot. I like everything organized. Golf: When I tee off, the Titelist or ball name, must face me and be upright, not upside down or anything. When I putt, the name needs to be facing the hole. I always wear a hat when I golf. On the front 9 it is on normally facing forward. As soon as I get to the 10th tee, I have to turn it around for the back 9.

Rudy really screwed himself. Too bad. I liked him. I'm a big McCain fan though. Hopefully he can hold off the Cadillac Salesman through Super Tuesday.

We don't exchange gifts on those days. Probably go to dinner the week before to avoid the crowd and the screwed up menus that restaurants put out. I hate it. You go wanting something specific and they have 3 appetizers, 4 entrees, and 2 desserts.

The Brothers Forever thing was so dumb it had me laughing for minutes on end. "I am your brother, together forever ..." Also, if you watch closely, the clips they show of them singing aren't always the same as the judges clip. Two nights ago, a girl was singing and was missing an earring. Then she had two, then one, then two, back and forth. Gina Glocksen said this last year as well.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 08:37 AM) Damn, Romney lives to sell used cars another day... Could not agree more. Everytime he is on, I feel I need a shower.
