Garland
12-11 4.89 ERA on 83 win team
RJ
16-14 2.60 ERA on 51 win team
Johnson could have easily won 22 games with an playoff contending team last season, with the way he was pitching...
I can't believe that some of you would rather keep a left handed reliever with a mid three era last season than get one of the best pitchers of all time, who has yet to show signs of slowing...
Left handed reliever or 18-20 game winner....hmmm....tough one....
As far as money goes, if JR allows for RJ to be on this team, I think it should almost be a given that he's increasing payroll...
It was a sad day in Chicago history when Caffey was traded and then the Bulls ended up with Dickie Simpkins in his place...Even Jordan b****ed at Krause for that...sad day, very sad day...Caffey, Randy Brown, Bison Dale, Wennington....good times....
I doubt we have the money to sign AJ, unless he is willing to take a huge paycut (down to ~$3 million)...If there is money available after a possible RJ trade, I would hope it goes solely to filling the #5 spot...
Not to mention I hate AJ more than any other player in MLB...but that has little relevance here...
The Clement deal may be used as leverage, but I doubt it...ARZ can still get plenty from a different team...I guess it's not entirely impossible to think that we could sign Clement and trade for RJ...
