  1. Obviously I like RJ more than Clement. However, I didn't like the #5 hole that remains by Trading Jon and I didn't want to give Paulie up. I thought a solid SP FA was the answer, but it doesn't look like it will happen. I don't think there is anyone out there to give us that "sick" rotation. Considering our new-look offense, that is a very bad thing.
  2. Anyway, I would've liked to have made my entrance under better circumstances. I don't mean to be confrontational with anyone. I just wanted this guy bad for this team. I felt like he was the piece that would put us in the playoffs. With Freddy, Mark, and Clement 1-2-3, who knows what happens in the playoffs? Oh well... To all the optimists, keep it up, b/c I am emotionally cashing out. Have a good night all.
  3. Furthermore, it has been debated ad nauseam that W-L is a pretty worthless stat
  4. LOL The future of the franchise, oh my! We haven't won since 1917 man. We should be going for it all. You guys can defend JR and the Sox all you want. Personally, I'm not looking forward to the 83-79 (or worse) campaign.
  5. Link? That directly clashes with the MLB article.
  6. This is good logic (unfortunately for us!)
  7. Again, poor reasoning. Read the Clement MLB article. "The teams that were still in it were teams that were willing to pay the price," Axelrod said. That sure as hell sounds like we didn't top the 3 years, 21 million to me. I agree that Clement still could've chosen the BoSox despite an equivalent offer, but it would've been nice to find out, don't you think? If you're going to be lowballing guys, don't go trading away Carlos and letting Maggs walk (not going there)
  8. you're right, we won't be getting Odalis. Anaheim will be bidding against us once again. What reason is there to think we'll top them this time, especially considering Odalis has already played in Anaheim's backyard. At this point, I'd be happy w/ Millwood. I don't even see that happening.
  9. Dude, use your powers of logic and reasoning. I didn't say our offer was $4 million a year for 3 years, I said that was the difference between our offer and the RSox offer (3 years/25 million). Get it, or do you need more of a breakdown?
  10. I'm saying, our offer for Matt was 3 years/21 million. Boston's offer is supposedly 3 years/25 million. That is a difference of $4 million. Divide that by 3 and you're talking about 1.33 million a year. What a joke
  11. I'm not bashing KW as much as I am Sox philosophy and JR. Can you justify cutting the offer off at 21 rather than 25? This makes the Lee trade look horrible.
  12. Yep! 4 million over 3 years is negligible, especially considering the $1 million we just gave to Timo. Well, since Timo is our #5 OF, maybe he can be our #5 SP. This Sucks! Typical Sox crap... Pony up the $4 mill for a guy we really needed and he's ours.
  13. E lo and AJ are possibilities, but Cabrera won't be coming our way. Hermanson anyone?
  14. Thanks... Yeah, I'm really glad we wrapped up our #5 outfielder, but not a serviceable 5th pitcher. I'm glad I'm not going to be a Soxfest this year. Last year's was bad enough... Give 'em hell guys!
