  1. Cardinals sneak in a touchdown but the extra point failed.. On the other hand the defense sure didint PITCH a shutout.. Very funny game even from my side.. Hopefully we'll come back with a little momentum tommorow but doubt it.. Still funny.. Reds still lose on a night we do.. they make as little sense as the Cards do!
  2. LoL at least we are trying.. but it's uh.. late
  3. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 09:17 PM) I just don't want to see anyone hurt or some bad blood between these clubs... I think it was just bad pitching by Ponson. Which is right.. Ponson has sucked since his injury is in the pen.. I dont want nothing bad to happen between us.. but I feel Eckstein is gonna get drilled.. hope not
  4. Never was feeling it tonight.. no hard feelings (just not happy with my team tonight).. sweep us!!

  6. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 12:26 AM) Take a look at the current Cardinals everday lineup, the pitching matchups, the way we are playing, and the scene of the games.....and if you come to any conclusion other than we should win at least 2 of 3, I'd be shocked. The Cards are good and we better be ready to play, but I was more worried about playing in Cincy than I am about facing the current Cardinals club at our place. I really really get what your saying.. we're a different team without Pujols.. The lineup isnt sexy and it wasnt even that sexy with Albert but now the players are stepping up MORE than they have all season because they have to now.. We're 8-5 without Albert.. Granted that's a small sample but besides a sweep against the Reds right after we lost Albert, this team hasnt missed any beat at all. We're running bases and stealing more, etc without Albert.. It's a good thing actually.. But then again even with what I said.. I'd feel much better if the series wasnt in Chicago.. and clearly the Sox are the better team even if Albert was healthy.. still we're not some easy team without Pujols.. of course now that I say that you'll be winning games like 12-1, 18-3, 34-0, etc against the Cards From [Here] And here's a roll call of what some hitters have done during Pujols' absence: Scott Rolen is batting .372 with 16 RBIs and 16 runs scored. Juan Encarnacion is batting .421 with 14 RBIs. So Taguchi has a .384 on-base percentage, five stolen bases and 14 runs scored. Yadier Molina is batting .305 with two homers and seven RBIs. Jim Edmonds is hitting .292 with four extra-base hits and a .383 OBP. Chris Duncan has chipped in with a .310 average and some timely hits. Anyways I dont have much to say.. Best of luck this series (but not too much) and the rest of the way..
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 09:13 PM) So it sounds like he could be activated, but possibly not play. Yea there's that chance.. he doesnt wanna DH really.. Fine.. he could play 1st and let someone else DH if he's ready to Anyways, I hope he doesnt rush back although I wouldnt mind the MVP coming back sometime (duh!).. Then again, we dont really need him right now (we're playing well right now and plus 6 games against the Sox and Tigers probably wont really mean anything).. considering Cincy and Houston arent really gaining any ground on us..
  8. Izzy says Pujols' return is imminent Trainer, skipper more cautious in appraising slugger's progress By Conor Nicholl / MLB.com ST. LOUIS -- Jason Isringhausen said Albert Pujols, sidelined with a right oblique strain, could return to the Cardinals in the Detroit series starting June 23. "We should get Albert back in Detroit," the Cardinals' closer said after Sunday's game. "That should help take the load off Scott [Rolen] and Juan [Encarnacion]." Cardinals head trainer Barry Weinberg offered a sarcastic response when told of Isringhausen's comment. "If Izzy says it, then it must be gospel. He is progressing," Weinberg said. "He is satisfied today and took some ground balls and played catch, did some running and hit in the cage. What we will do is repeat it tomorrow during the off-day. He will start hitting off the coaches on Tuesday." Weinberg said there is no date set for Pujols' return. The first baseman could be activated as soon as Tuesday. [More in URL]
  9. (Cardsclubhouse.com is the best I've come upon.. I'm CJE15 there).. Really no bad junk around there, etc.. but every now and then you'll have the morons
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 06:50 PM) No Pujols and no Carpenter=No problem. Be careful with Rolen and with the way we're playing, it's at least 2 of 3. Just dont assume it'll be a pushover without them.. Offense has been stepping it up and scoring at ease without Pujols.. pitching is starting to pick it up the last 5 games finally.. Just be careful what ya say.. The lineup isnt the prettiest and neither is the staff but they are playing good ball right now.. 7-2 in their last nine games.. not bad! But yes it shouldnt be a problem.. just sayin
  11. Good stuff.. it appears Reyes may get that last start but it's STILL undecided.. latest on the Cards site is that they may go with Suppan and not call Reyes up.. why I dont know.. Ponson is in the pen but they still may start him.. hmm.. I dont know.. Cards are about to sweep the Rox and are a season high 16 games over .500. I'd be satisfied with just one win against the Sox honestly.. Dont know what to expect this series.. however no matter the outcomes I wish you all well this season and after this series, you can be certain we'll try and get to the Tigers somewhat unlike that other team in Chicago.. hah!
  12. Good job guys.. looks like the Cards unless Carpenter blows his 4-1 lead in the 7th will gain 3 games in the Reds in 3 days.. woohoo!! Now let's go out there and have a fun series and whatever happens.. happens.. then the Cards take it to Detroit
  13. Get the sweep while the Cards take care of the Rockies.. then we'll play our series and whatever happens happens.. then the Cards take it to Detroit.. would be good Heres the lineups.. Sox: Pod, LF Iguchi, 2B Cards Killer aka Thome, 1B Dye, RF AJ, C Cintron, 3B Uribe, SS Mack, CF Garland, SP Reds: FeLo, SS Phillips, 2B Junior, CF Dunn, LF Kearns, RF Hatte, 1B Castro, 3B LaRue, C Harangatang, SP
  14. Ponson is sent to bullpen By Joe Strauss ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH 06/18/2006 The Cardinals have notified pitcher Sidney Ponson of at least his temporary assignment to the bullpen while they contemplate promoting Anthony Reyes from Class AAA Memphis to make Thursday's start against the Chicago White Sox. Pitching coach Dave Duncan informed Ponson of the move Friday night, three days after Ponson lasted 3 1/3 innings in a 9-7 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Ponson on Saturday acknowledged being told of the move but had little else to say. Asked if he had anticipated the move, Ponson said, "Not really. ... But I guess they have their reasons." Several factors contributed to the move: Ponson (4-2) has struggled since leaving the disabled list and was recently encouraged to more aggressively participate in pre-game running drills. The Cardinals' previously rock-solid rotation has recently sprung several leaks, dramatically increasing the workload on a stressed bullpen. And, Reyes has impressed at Memphis and in spot starts against the Kansas City Royals and the Houston Astros. Reyes is 4-1 in 11 starts for the Redbirds. His numbers include a 3.04 ERA and 65 strikeouts with just eight walks. He has allowed just 0.97 baserunners per inning. [More in URL]
  15. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Keep it going!!!
  16. Cmon bring one home at least!! We're taking care of our own business.. be nice to put another loss on the Reds though..
  17. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) You'd better return the favor when your boys face Detroit. I'm certain we'll try to.. may have Pujols then or even against the Sox.. may not.. either way our offense without Albert hasnt been a problem.. been our pitching lately although Marquis went 8 strong tonight!
  18. Pujols optimistic about faster return By R.B. FALLSTROM, AP Sports Writer June 16, 2006 ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Albert Pujols, who's eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list early next week, was optimistic Friday that he'd return from a strained side muscle much sooner than St. Louis officials had originally predicted. The Cardinals slugger was on the field for drills at first base several hours before Friday night's game against the Rockies, contorting his body to get to balls bounced his way by third base coach Jose Oquendo. After the workout, last year's NL MVP said he felt surprisingly good. "I'm pretty excited," Pujols said. And he said team medical personnel were "real excited, but I don't want to talk too quick until I get out there in the field and hopefully play for a week and I don't feel it at all." Pujols was hoping to get clearance to take some batting practice on Saturday, the next step in the process. "I still need to hit and I still need to do some things, and we'll see how I feel," Pujols said. "I can't wait until I start to get some hacks, and we'll go from there. I'm pretty sure I'll be OK. I've been working my butt off this last week." [More in URL]
