Truthfully i thought it was moronic by the Houston fans, but that's their fault they let him catch it..
-
Wow that was a heck of a catch there.. Why didnt the fans help their team? Oh well, lol! Wanted to bump this to send out my Congrats once again on a fabulous year. It was nice seeing Houston get swept & Lidge get lit up after Houston took the NLCS. I couldnt be any happier for the White Sox and the city of Chicago. The best team in Chi.. baseball (Hah, was gonna say Chicago!).. See ya in interleague play next year

QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 01:19 AM) They seem to be doing the hockey playoff beard thing. The Sox are just doing the "different hero every game" thing. I like our thing better. Correct.. St. Louis was also doing that.. Didnt work

QUOTE(Goldmember @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) ^^^ i think they said he had to take 4 cortizone shots before last night's game. a good guy. good luck on his next endeavors... That's correct.. 4 shots.. Every time he would get one he would smack the ball around for a week but those last couple shots didnt seem to work. Infact, it only got worse for him from there on out. Only so much those things could do for Larry.

Walker says goodbye to baseball Cardinals veteran has played his final game By John Schlegel / MLB.com First baseman Albert Pujols: "It's 17 years he played? I'm just glad to be a part of these last two years with him." Center fielder Jim Edmonds: "The best thing I can say is, 'Congratulations on a great career and on retirement,' actually. Any time you can play as long as he did and have a career that he did, you should be congratulated. I think it's pretty special. I told him [when] he was getting a little sad, I said, 'I think you should be smiling right now. You've had an unbelievable career and you've got lots of money and now you get to go home and enjoy your family.' I think that's what's special." Left fielder Reggie Sanders: "He was dealing with a lot, physically and mentally. But he's a true professional. He's going to go out there and give what he has. For us, as players in this clubhouse, we support each other. We do what we need to do to have each other's back. And we're just really proud of what Larry's done for us." [More in URL] Lemme just say I never realized just how awesome Larry Walker was until he put on that St. Louis uniform. What a class act. I hated to see him cry in the postgame but he battled for us last year but this year told me everything I ever thought about Walker. When healthy the man can swing a pretty good bat but that wasnt much. 4 cortisone (sp) shots is too much for one man like Larry I believe. He fought and fought and fought to try and help this team. While some Cards fans are disappointed right now about his non contributions this postseason believe it or not for some reason he brought a smile on my face (nothing else did really) when he got that double. It's a shame though his last at bat will end up being a strike out and he has to leave this way. I enjoyed Larry in his 1 1/2 years as a Cardinal (even though we know most of us knew he was broken down and nearing the end). A Class act.. Sad he never gets his ring though.

Wow on the postgame Walker said he glanced over at the Houston dugout and saw them celebrating.. Appears to have ticked the Cards off.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) Astros. It's tough to beat both Clemens and Oswalt, especially when you're as beat up as the Cardinals are. Cards have beat the three in a row before that we've had to face. No reason they cant do it again. The only one of those two that concerns me is Oswalt.. Get to him and force a game 7 and here we go..
-
Wait a minute.. I think I was seeing things or did our closer pitch 2 no hit innings and get the win? OMG.. That's a bigger shock to me! He didnt even give me a heart attack tonight.. WTF.. Maybe this was a big win
-
For some reason I wake up today having a really good feeling about Carpenter vs Pettitte.. I dont know how the Cards will come out tonight but I think if they can get tonight's and go back home down 3 games to 2 like last year anything is possible with the home crowd being behind em. If they get tonight's game anything can happen and I wouldnt doubt the Cards then. They've done it before winning 3 straight vs HOU and these 3 pitches why cant they do it now, in the playoffs? Anyways.. I still wanna play the White Sox but we got a long way to go.. I'm even happier about the White Sox today after finally cooling off last night
-
.. humiliation of Cubs and their fans. (Coming soon).. Cardinals fans! But most of all.. Win it for the White Sox fans!!

While I dont wanna talk about the Cards much.. We need all the hoping, praying, everything you name it for tommorow night. I guess I know one thing though. To never ever give up with the Cards. This series is far from over although I honestly believe it's over.. Houston after today's win acted like the won the World Series. Granted it was a good finish for them but jeez.. I hope the Cards saw that and take it to heart and play with all they have one final time. I just dont want to see Busch Stadium go out with a Game 2 NLCS loss to the stinkin Astros.. We need to the Astros and show what we're made of. Do the Cards have the heart of the champions this year? To me, I question that. I hardly ever question the Cards but I'm quite honestly sick of this. I'll always love my Cards wether we lose tommorow, win the next three games, win the world series, or play like the Cubs.. I love them no matter if they break my heart another time With that said and with all the respect I have for Biggio and Bagwell and as much as I want them to have a shot at the ring, I just have to go with the White Sox. While I would like to see Houston win it allll I also dont want a team from our division to win it all unless it's the Cards. The Cards look flat right now.. The bounces arent going their ways.. The Calls arent going their ways but.. It's plain and simple, they have to play better!! Also while I know it's the playoffs and we have tough challenges ahead.. We have beaten Pettitte, Oswalt, and Clemens in 3 straight games shortly after the All-Star game so I see no reason we cant do it now. There's just more pressure.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) Thank you Not a problem.. When the Cards werent playing this year I would flip on the Sox games back in April til now.. I just like the way your team is built..
-
Just wanted to say Congratulations to your team on an awesome season. Unless the Cardinals make a miracle comeback I will be going for the Sox to beat the Astros . The Cardinals fell apart and fell apart big time. They lost their cool and the injuries are starting to affect the team. It's not a matter of the Astros having tough pitching when you have tough pitching. It's really easy to say this but this goes for almost every team in the playoffs. Play error free baseball and you'll win.. While I'm certain the Stros have played some good baseball I just believe the Cards have beat theirselves more than the Astros have beat the Cards.. Anyways enough rambling. I'm not in a great mood at all.. Just wanted to send out my congratulations to the White Sox (a team that plays the game the right way) and their fans!! CONGRATS!!

Scott Rolen out for 6 months
CardsJimEdmonds15 replied to White Sox Josh's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(SuperSteve @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 02:04 PM) Six months = Season? Why not just say that? Because the Cardinals still think Rolen can play.. He's out for the year though
