last night (new years eve) i was with some of my friends, 3 of them cubs fans, i was the only sox fan. somehow the conversation got to cubs vs sox. i have been away at college for months, and havent had to deal with silly cubs fans for a while. back in the day i could argue for hours (and win mostly) i was bombarded last night with some of the stupidest things ive ever heard. i forgot how dumb cubs fans are around here. here are some of the great points that were made against our sox, our park, and us - least loyal fans around - bandwagon - us cell out field - half price days every day - chinese gangsters all around the park - fellow cub fans bought them beer when they went to wrigley and were 13 years old - there park is "beautiful" - wrigley has no bad seats - the sox choke every year - no one in the U.S. except from people in chicago have ever heard of the sox - AAA iowa would sweep the sox in a series - you cant go anywhere around comiskey without being shot - getting posednik for lee was a great move (sarcastic) these were just some of the stupid comments i heard. anything i threw out was shot down, not even with a good comeback. i would say something such as you havent improved at all, then i would hear something about attendance. cubs fans are really getting dumber, especially since they are doing better. :fthecubs

i want aj and iguchi, go spend the 7 mil we have left on them KW. that should be plenty. aj at 3, gooch at 4. i would rather have those two than vasquez.

i would love to have vasquez, but his price might be too high in both trade value and money. we would not be able to get both aj and iguchi, maybe neither. i would not trade anderson, we cannot lose all our OFs. sweeney would be the only solid one left (borchard sucks). i would try to swing a borchard, diaz, and contreras for vasquez and money to even it out a little. be patient though KW, make them come down a bit. borchard might be appealing to them in center, and he did play for stanford i believe.

LCR, you are correct. most discriminated group in america is hetero white males. we cant say anything or do anything. i dont like to use racial slurs, unless deserved by an individual. they are stereotypes. let me explain why gay and f** are not stereotypes: (1) by being gay, a choice (i dont care what anyone says), you are admitting to being attracted to men, and possibly having intercourse with a man, which is against Christianity and normal values. (2) being gay is not being lumped into a catagory. obviously, not all black people like chicken, not all white men talk in a low slow voice, not all irish drink , not all chinese boys are smart. HOWEVER, all gay men LIKE MEN. there is no stereotyping. it is the truth. (3) cause its a free country. p.s. i dont use the word gay as an insult often, it is weak, i used it b/c it was a little quick ryhme.
