  1. Yellen signaling rates to rise in december. sub 2% inflation.
  2. Wow, yeah, look at this article that quotes witness recounting events from the night. Matches to a tee the video. It's from 2014: http://invisible.institute/news/2014/laquan-mcdonald
  3. http://chicagoreporter.com/how-chicago-tri...lice-execution/ There is a trib story interviewing a father and son who were in a car that was stopped as it happened but I can't find it now.
  4. Missouri board of curators meeting tomorrow at 1pm. Likely to approve contract. I'd like to say it will leak soon, but Kim Anderson didn't leak until an hour after that meeting.
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 04:01 PM) Right, but this is where the confusion lies...I attempted to clear this up a bit in my previous post. Of course not everything is sent away...but it's all collected and LOCKED UP in a room with strict controls...and anyone that tampered with any of it would be caught...this isn't the 1950's where any random cop could walk into evidence lockup and mess with things... The person I originally replied too basically said the CPD tried to cover this up...and it wasn't the CPD. No run of the mill cop could cover this up with the protocols they have in place now. That type of cover up isn't necessary in a police shooting. People are saying its a cover up because the other police there, the head of the fraternal order of police, and the officer all claimed the officer was in danger and was being lunged at when he was not. The other officers took no witnesses when there were. They may have deleted video evidence and tampered with audio. All of that is while they were gathering said evidence, not changing it after the fact. All it took was for people to see a cop acted over the line, and they all worked to protect him because they think it's protecting themselves. Shortterm it is, long-term it's not.
  6. Everyone try to read this without cringing: http://chicago.suntimes.com/news/7/71/1147...pd-another-blow
  7. The Tribune is going hard after the audio and why it was obscured.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 03:29 PM) Right now...whenever I see Rose aggressive, I'm happy. It puts more pressure on the D and he can't possibly keep being this bad from the shooting end. He just can't. In fact, he needs to be even more aggressive. Just no threes...please god no threes until he can see (even then, maybe still no threes). He also needs to get past his mental block around the hoop. He looks way too concerned about contact and it is causing him to be a much poorer finisher then his career norms. It just depresses the hell out of me when he goes 1 on 3 on a fast break knowing he's going to get his s*** blocked (which he does, everytime), knowing that my favorite with rose was whizzing through 3 defenseman making an impossible layup. I held out hope for a long time but he is one of the worst pgs in the league. I also still give thibs benefit of doubt: it's possible he ran a very rigid play-based offense because he saw how rarely his team would move. Now Hoiberg is forced to.
  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 01:06 PM) It's the same ol' every year with this team. They go through stretches every season where people start to flood the bandwagon, it's no different this year. I really hope Dunleavy can get back. I really think he's a huge part of our offense. But, I'm nervous his career is over.
  10. Great move. He will so respect that we paid him more than required he'll be extra motivated.
  11. Rahm now "welcoming" a DOJ investigation. I think one is absolutely necessary, and his opinion does not matter. The Chicago force needs a profound reason to clean up, and know that this isn't going to go away with time. A DOJ investigation helps with that.
  12. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 08:21 AM) It's the quality of these players that I question. I really don't see how any of those players will improve upon what the Sox already have, with the exception of Alvarez over LaRoche. Look at the ages, expected salaries and numbers on those players. Not very good at all. I'd much rather see the Sox use their limited resources on better talent than picking through non-tendered garbage. As of right now, Henderson Alvarez is the only played that really interests me and I'm leery on him because he gave up more hits than IP and didn't have to face the DH pitching in the NL. Might not translate well at US Cellular. I'd still take a chance depending on his asking but I wouldn't go overboard trying to sign him either due to the Sox needing to spend their money wisely on position players. I'd be happy to pick up a flyer on Aaron Crow, doubt he would be much more than an invite.
  13. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 10:42 AM) The only thing I do not like about Bennett is he seems to never get any YAC That is the strength of bennett to me. If he gets a little bit of space he bowls over people.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 10:54 AM) It would make sense that they picked the soft of the softest target possible as well, but it IS weird he worked there. Thats the confusion. Right, it's such an odd target that doesn't seem to fit other narratives of dense population or iconic places.
  15. Wow, did not realize Sanchez was only 23 still. That actually gives me pause on moving on from him.
  16. I know I'm debbie downer even as the team keeps winning, but man, it's really hard watching your team's backcourt go like 5-32. Pau and McDermott won the game.
  17. relying on Miller for 16 games seems crazy.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 10:06 PM) Wow, I did not see that coming. I like Navarro's bat but is the upgrade worth a potential defensive downgrade? Or am I wrong about his defensive abilities vs. Flowers? Good point. Rick Hahn never misses a chance to make a marginal offensive improvement at the cost of defensive value, only to see that offense diminish and defense stay terrible during their tenure.
  19. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 08:33 PM) That would be stupid of use to give up Anderson This is exactly why I wanted catcher to be the last position we address. Way too expensive for its offensive production.
  20. Yes on Alvarez. I would love that signing
  21. Mesoroco tried to play through a pretty bad injury so I wouldn't put too much weight into those numbers...unless he's still not healthy
