  1. QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 06:17 AM) Actually Hawaii and all the territories. I wonder how much we could get for them? Seriously, when was the last time a territory, state, or country was sold? Imagine today picking up the Louisianan Territory. Let's pay for health care by selling Hawaii! Best I can come up with is panama or hong kong but those weren't sold really
  2. around 02-03 I felt that he took over a team with an all star offense and the best farm system in baseball and had depleted the farm and got nothing in return to put them over the hump. Now I just find his vision to be fantastic. He seems to be working at a level that no one else is. (that doesn't mean above everyone else, rather he isn't working on who's available, he's working on who he needs).
  3. shocked... Rove personally pressed for removal of Iglesias. http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/...ing.php?ref=fpa

  7. hopefully Rios can be for us what that Shannon Stewart trade was for the Twins in...03? He seemed to ignite them. He was from toronto. Hopefully Rios doesn't suck as bad as Shannon Stewart though.
  8. You think this will allow to give Big Jim some rest and JD at DH while Rios spells the three?

  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 11:39 PM) So is it Wise or Kotsay we drop? Don't answer with your head, answer with your gut. haha, oh glorious day if Wise is gone as well.
  11. QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 11:36 PM) That is in answer to those that claim the Jays *have* to dump him at any cost. so, we just got Alex Rios for nothing in return. Looks like we had more leverage.

  13. http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/...t.php?ref=fpblg "Once you thoroughly unfasten yourself from reality, truly all things are possible. AJC columnist Jay Bookman noticed that in the latest Investors Business Daily editorial about how the 'death panel' will condemn all handicapped or disabled people to death on some horrid wind-swept mountain, it notes that ... People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn't have a chance in the U.K., where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless. Needless to say, Hawking, who is recognized as one of the great theoretical physicists of the 20th and 21st century, was born in the UK and has lived his entire life there."
  14. You guys bring that up like it's such a great point. No one is denying her influence. If 35% of this country wasn't appointing her as everything that is right with the country as she spouts off whiney hateful lies no one would care. But 1/3 of Americans are listening to what she's saying.
  15. there must be a mistake, it didn't say smoke with willie.
