  1. St. Louis Cardinal fans are unique. I really haven't found anyone like them. They annoy the hell out of me. They reaallllllly, um, worship their players, I guess is the best way to put it. "Albert". I don't really think we are anything like that, we seem to have a deepfelt, sentimental appreciation for our players, St. Louis fans create this cartoonish superhero out of theirs. It's hard to explain. I guess they are just kind of the dorkiest baseball fans on earth.
  2. haha, your sig is fantastic.

    Amazing Story

    hahahaha, that was so awesome.
  4. Thanks for pointing this out. this line: "Walker suggests that Beckham gets his long-ball potential because he has "horizontal power"—that is, the ability to use his body's joints and ligaments to transfer energy in a line projecting in front of him." Sports writers too often rely on some really stupid stuff coaches say instead of creating their own words. This doesn't really explain s***, it just sounds like someone trying to be smart.
  5. well, why wouldn't we criticize him after 4 weeks in office. He has run by far the most reckless presidency in our history.
  6. TV news has been awful for years, you don't learn anything. But I think it says more that when stations get desperate they move into a violence heavy format, and it always works. As much as people say they don't like how violent and depressing the news is, the numbers don't really support that opinion.

"Went to a horse style cirk us dolay show called cavalia, very impressive" this is all that made me laugh.
  8. QUOTE (maggliopipe @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 03:21 PM) Anyone see that Jeff Mangum actually got on stage and performed a few songs with Olivia Tremor Control? Great news. http://www.tinymixtapes.com/Jeff-Mangum-Performs-Three-Songs I've given up hope of any sort of tangible tour, I thought the best chance of a show was him doing pitchfork last year. He has been playing at clubs fairly consistently, by my standards for him, for the past couple of years.
  9. bahaha, yeah, they really wanted this depression, it's really been serving them well. It's allowed them to fire half their staffs and teeter on the verge of bankruptcy. They are doin soooooo well.
  10. bahaha... I agree with duke. I think nirvana was a band you kind of had to be in the moment with. I can't really related to that generation in the early nineties much.
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 02:18 AM) Truthfully I wish we could just take some of these guys out back and shoot them unceremoniously. I know that's not practical though. come on lost. You need a ceremony.

  13. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 08:27 PM) Evidence of what? Tax cuts do not expire until 2011. And there is no way any spending will be cut. good job at paying attention to the the thread, you always provide great insight.

  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 03:41 PM) Alexander Graham Bell was lucky enough to be the first one to get to the patent office, lol. my friend told me this story of someone in their town, who invented the new glue for braces, but didn't know how to sell it. So they sold the patent to their neighbor, who made millions.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) One of America's greatest known inventors, Thomas Edison, was the perfect example of this. We owe way more of our existance to Nikola Tesla, and yet basically no one knows who he is. I feel like Tesla is just one of those people where everyone acts like nobody else knows who he is because they like the framing of an unknown talking point.
  20. Further, if the democrats do move on this and actually do have some evidence of this by 2010, the legs of the republicans are cut out from them. The congressional and senate dems would be wise to follow suit.
