  1. nobody is watching Jim Lehrer? Enjoy your bike sales, bros.
  2. Plus, with Hillary more than being a woman you are talking about a HUGE advantage in name recognition that led, what I believe, what happened in New Hampshire.
  3. I'm just waiting for someone to start looking out for the Swedes. In reality, you are allowed to say whatever you want about people in big cities and you are free from retribution. Just call them a bunch of latte drinking foot rubbin fake tannin ninnyboofs and you are fine. It doesn't matter. It makes sense, since they have all the power. I don't get upset either.
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 04:34 PM) Or have you not heard? ?
  5. and the case of Harold Ford Jr. So I just don't think it exists. If anything it will be the unknown factor with Obama and name recognition for McCain.
  6. I think it's the martians oppressing Kucinich.
  7. Wellp...mediacom doesn't carry current. Damn it to hell.
  8. tears are streaming down my eyes at the failure of execution of a poll on this thread. Thank god ballots aren't this difficult amirite? Is current tv online and if not do I have current tv?
  9. What you watchin. I'll be watchin the daily show and Jim Lehrer, for sure.
  10. Hope it's fun for everyone. You guys should have good weather, yesterday was simply brilliant down here in Missouri.
  11. Family Guy is probably the worst show on television nowadays. I found it funny in high school, but i watched a rerun on TBS of the newer ones and I was almost angry it wasted my time with a 15 minute too long joke. Seth MacFarlane isn't smart enough to do political commentary let alone write words on a paper.
  12. I wish I had an old school lever ballot. I had to just fill mine out with marker, and no, it wasn't the magical invisible ink markers from illinois. Overall, If I remember well enough, I prefer my Illinois ballot from 04 over the Missouri ballot, though I didn't not find Missouri's confusing.
  13. Lostfan is that a DC ballot for you or a maryland ballot?
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 02:33 PM) I voted Obama. I voted Harris for Congress, he is a Republican but that vote is purely symbolic since the incumbent is a Democrat, and my district is one of the bluest parts of a blue state and hasn't had a Republican representative in like 100 years. I also voted for the amendments to the state Constitution, one to allow early voting, the other to allow slots. I voted against all the state constitution amendments. Voted for Judy Baker for congress. She's awesome. I'm reaaallllly hoping she gets in over luetkemeyer who just comes off as insanely idiotic.
  15. I just got back from voting and it reminded me how pissed off I was at this proposition. Prop A in Missouri has been heavily advertised as this great education funding bill, where they tax the casinos and send it to the schools. Pretty great right? Except the Casino lobbies basically wrote it and took off gamble loss restrictions and the schools don't even get very much of an increase. But they throw a bunch of apples up on their web site and teachers who support it, and have commercials with teachers who support it...givng the impression that the teachers unions do, which of course they are appalled at this, but casinos have way more money. And gamblers anonymous is furious and writing these pleading editorials. I hope this f***ing fails. So if you are in MO, PLEASE vote this down.
  16. I knew what I was getting into when I was linked there but I was still shocked. I frankly don't care if it's equivocated on the other side, it was still pretty awful. I'll say this for comments on news sites though, I was shocked to see how high the political discourse was on Al Jazeera English. They have stories where they bring up a topic and say "what do you think" and, I think a lot of their readers are British so it's slanted like that (Al Jazeera English recruits many of their writers from the BBC). It was interesting nonetheless. Albeit Al Jazeera English operates substantially different than the arabic language.
  17. voted this morning. It really does tickle me that such low level positions like county assessor has an affiliation to a national party. I'm pretty happy with everything in Columbia so I kept the incumbents. PLEASE FAIL PROP A!!! PLEASE ANY MISSOURI VOTERS, VOTE NO ON PROP A!
  18. I think 2010 is a little soon. They don't have the talent right now.
  19. Yeah Chuck Todd sucks but I never thought very much of Tim Russert, either. I have no idea what channel to watch. CBS - Couric is the worst anchor of the last 60 years NBC - I hate Brokaw ABC - Charlie. CNN - that guy with the moustache and weird eyes that creeps me out FOX - FOX CNBC - I do like the brunette anchor I saw on Charlie Rose MSNBC - Pat Buchanon so I guess PBS.
  20. i just got linked to the fox news comments on Obama's grandmothers death...pretty awful stuff. I have a hard time believing people like that exist.
  21. QUOTE (HawkDJ @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 05:05 AM) We're exepcting rain all day tomorrow here in North Carolina. Should be interesting how this effects the turnout. 40% of registered voters have already cast ballots and it is assumed Obama is leading significantly from these early votes. I'm surprised that in this day and age rain still does anything.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 03:09 AM) This one's for you bmags: Or maybe I'm mistaken? Was thinking you're a Diplo fan. Hell yea. I think Top Ranking is my favorite thing that's come out this year. I felt so cool when he used two skream songs on that tape. Thanks BSq!
  23. I'm going to give credit to flash_tizzle here. I remember when we drafted him, everyone was pretty mad at skipping porcello and rightfully so but also calling poreda a crappy pick (he didn't have great stats, that's for sure). But FT said, even though passing on Porcello was a mistake, that these were the types of draft picks we should be making, people that have the stuff but need to develop as opposed to these safe picks like MacCullough and Broadway. Kudos.
  24. Wow, tough timing. She seems to have lived a great life and her offspring is a testament to that.
