    QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) I'm reading only two right now: Psychotic Reactions and Carburator Dung by Lester Bangs i just ordered that from the library... just started the stranger by camus
  2. i predict they won't black out... haha, oh man that's classic. Cause i already know. Thats the joke.
  3. man our offense just looks so confident...imagine without those crazy double plays...but they happened so blah
  4. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:07 PM) More like Martin Luther Queen, I'd say. . . haha, well played, sir, well played!

    QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) Which, interestingly, is roughly as useful as Garcia and Garland are on the mound now. no kidding... at least garland has a useful nickname...
  6. QUOTE(chuckywang @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 12:20 AM) Who was the fifth starter last year? El Duque or Brendan McCarthy? the duque until about september i believe...maybe it was late august.

    so people couldn't catch, that with that other thread on pablo...that the point here is that pablo would be as useful to us as a pitcher as he would in CF...
  8. sadly...this is my generations martin luther king...bahhhhhhhhhhhh
  9. QUOTE(minors @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 05:36 PM) First of all I do not believe that murdering your unborn children is a constitutional right no matter what the courts say. its amazing how people don't understand what the courts actually ruled. It isn't our right, its that the government doesn't have the right. There is a difference. Everything we are allowed to do isn't because the government allows us to. Its the opposite. Everything the government does its becasue WE THE PEOPLE allow them to.
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) WHo gave the school a worse name? The athletes who probably excelled in sports and school, or the whiny senior who decided to take it upon himself to embarass the school through his graduation speech? the kid who stood up to the blind eye of administration and the aforementioned dumbass athletes. Schools aren't farm leagues for sports, they are supposed to be a place of learning, one that was being corrupted by a bunch of duke lacrosse assholes. The kid was right. i wish i could have slapped every one of the kids who wasted their time in my high quality public school with so many kids that don't even have a chance in theirs.

    QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 10:10 PM) Why hasn't this thread been closed yet? to see which people still have the wit to detect a joke without green
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 09:10 PM) I've never seen a thread take a turn like this. A 2 page post about school funding? Im pretty sure thats not what the kids speech was about. He was mad that other students took liberties that he was not given. more like he was mad that kids who were given every opportunity to exceed in schooling threw it away and gave the school a bad name, all the while were embraced more by the school.
  13. it is a nice feature to keep in touch with kids in high school. The kids that are addicted to it though weird me out. There isn't THAT much to do on it.

    i feel like freddy is built to be that slow first basemen we've never had.
  15. sometimes people have to leave early. i like to stay but circumstances. Its not like I'm an LA fan leaving to beat traffic.

  17. QUOTE(beautox @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 08:22 AM) Of all of Wilco's albums "a ghost is born" is prolly my favorite, not to hate on yankee hotel foxtrot. i think i like summerteeth best...i think its when their songs were most fun plus it has my favorites she's a jar and via chicago...but as an album, yankee hotel foxtrot is quite the experience. Poor places
  18. i can't blame you, sunday night, work next morning...tough calls.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 03:30 AM) There it was again tonight!! Sure we lost, but we nearly made the greatest rally in the history of ever. First time I've ever really smiled after a loss, what a great effort by us, with several of the key guys being bench players. I have a feeling a run of very good play may have began tonight in the 9th, even in defeat. Way to go guys, the heart, the guts, the balls, the 2005 fever is back. I haven't felt better about this team all year than I do right now. i don't think i've ever felt so excited after a loss.
  20. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 11:19 PM) I am overwhelmed by the profundity of your well-reasoned post. haha to the people who are telling this kid to get over it...i remind you that the US was 18th in math scores, the best way to change that is to remove the drug use and prominant cheating in high schools. Higher level public schools are more halfway houses than institutions of learning. I applaud this kid.
  21. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) I just bought some wilco albums and their pretty solid yankee hotel foxtrot is probably one of the stronger albums of the 2000s from what I've heard i think kicking television is the best produced live album of all time. Nels Cline + WIlco is just a whole new experience. He makes the "a ghost is born" songs so much more vital and wonderful.
