  2. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 24, 2006 -> 12:05 PM) What reason would they refuse to go on the View? i can think of a billion reasons to refuse to perform on the view.
  3. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ May 23, 2006 -> 12:04 AM) On "Illinois", Sufjan Stevens' blatantly copies the riff for "Close To You" by The Cure. there is so much going on in that god damn song...
  4. QUOTE(beautox @ May 22, 2006 -> 06:57 AM) But wasn't that part of the Femmes deal? i mean their drummer played a laundry basket as a drum. but isn't a cover supposed to put their spin on a new song? If the violent femmes were covering themselves, i'd say, "man this sounds hokey, but in a good way"
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 22, 2006 -> 03:56 AM) Even further proof that you suck. oh, ok
  6. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 22, 2006 -> 03:49 AM) Because you watched on CSN and not on WGN. ******* ************ ****** ********* *******
  7. if we are gonna complain about D, we should complain about the Botched perfect double play ball we had where we would've gone into the ninth with a 4-2 lead.
  8. whoa whoa whoa whoa hold up... hold up... why the hell did i have the cubs announcers for the whole game?
  9. i can't even take the "why didn't AJ slide" thread because some are so f***ing delusional. I'd like to think in that situation i'd have the clear head of the posters who are saying "because he's blocking the plate"
  10. strange...i didn't like gone daddy gone because it sounded hokey...but no doubt, the 1-2 punch of go go gadget gospel and crazy is pretty ridiculous
  11. he's right. And the thought of "29th amendment - marriage shall only be between a man and a woman, even if the woman looks a lot like a man" just sickens me.
  12. lol, they drew a picture of a raccoon and put "description of intruder" at the top
  13. i was wondering where fields was gonna play...thanks for clearing this up
  14. QUOTE(FLsouthsider @ May 18, 2006 -> 05:07 AM) I called the Trop for tickets and asked what time the game was. They said, what time can you get here? Thank you, thank you, be sure to tip your waitresses and bartenders. Seriously, I'll be at the game tomorrow night. Got some ridiculously sweet seats down the first base line. BRAVO

    this storm looks BAD

    QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 18, 2006 -> 04:17 AM) I took some pics of the cloud formations in my area this afternoon....got some great results. There were a few cells in my immediate area, but we didn't get a lot of actual rain from this. Some of the pictures between the high clouds and dark clouds and sunset and such are really good though, I'll post them if I remember to eventually. i smell some Tom Skilling "Weather Pics!""""

    The DaVinci Code

    QUOTE(Steve9347 @ May 18, 2006 -> 02:58 AM) That book was an incredible read. I'm hearing rumblings that if you don't read the book, you're pretty much screwed when it comes to this movie because they crammed so much info into 2.5 hours. btw, Dan Brown might be a "terrible" writer, but he put it together, and he'll be "terribly" driving to the bank more than you could ever imagine. ditto so is britney spears...this book is nothing that Holy Blood, Holy Grail didn't already cover in greater style, i've no idea why that wasn't as popular..

    The DaVinci Code

    the reviews for the movie are hilariously bad... per the boston globe "its almost as bad as the book" LOL
  19. i just got back from running, to a hard division of bright blue skys and the most ominously dark looking clouds with lightning cutting all through them...i hope there are no tornados about...

    The DaVinci Code

    QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 17, 2006 -> 01:22 AM) No. No I am not joking. Why do you ask. Jackass.
  21. scott walker the drift...is verrryyyy good...which is absolutely amazing considering. Scott 4 =
  22. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 16, 2006 -> 07:41 PM) Yep, you know me, radio, MTV and Coverdale are some of my favorite things in life. i'm not sure why you took it like that, but whatever... QUOTE(The Critic @ May 16, 2006 -> 07:26 PM) I'd take a myriad of Ronnie James Dios... Actually, no I wouldn't. Some of my favorite singers can't "sing" - John Lydon, Doc Neeson, Lemmy, James Hetfield ( drunken growling James, not dried-up, dried-out, post-therapy crooning James ). Some could sing okay, but not great singers ( Phil Lynott, Bob Geldof, Paul Westerberg ). Some are really good, I think ( Geoff Tate, Dio, Rob Halford ). It's all about style and how the voice fits the music for me. i agree, i know jeff mangum is horrible at singing but i love it, and i know Jeff Buckley is amazing at singing and i love it. Ian Curtis just halfway sang baritone and it sounded so cool
  23. QUOTE(mr_genius @ May 16, 2006 -> 06:49 PM) i heard one of the new songs on the radio it was total crap but i'm not really a Pearl Jam fan in the first place the single was the worst song on the album...i think its their best album since Yield but that said i'm tired of pearl jams sound. It sounds old. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 16, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) I bet you forgot the green, but that's a perfect example. Dylan the songwriter, good, Dylan the singer, not so much...... and like I said we are the complete opposite on this. but he had a unique voice, if radio was myriad David Coverdales i'm sure you'd change your tune.
  24. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 16, 2006 -> 06:00 PM) I'm the total opposite. Sound great first and if you have something to say, it's a bonus. If you have something to say, but can't sing worth a damn, go write poetry or a book. Leave the singing to singers. yeah, what the f*** was bob dylan thinking
  25. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) The whole reason that the remodel of Soldier Field had such a low capacity was to try to keep the historical standing of it... now that it is gone, why not just expand it to 80K+ God knows they could sell the tickets for the Bears anyway. great point!
