QUOTE(timotime @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) if you are addicted, get some help, see a doctor. please dont even try to say its hard to get help for alcohalism, because its easy. you could even get hypnotized- i personally know two people that worked for. dont complain unless you are willing to help yourself. it's their house, so they can keep whatever they want in the fridge. you have to be willing to help yourself if you want to be helped.
  3. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) So now you get why I asked? What about the winterspring©? 5. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) Whatever problems he presents, Manny is still one of the top 5 hitters in baseball. He can have a monstrous impact on a team's lineup. For all the talk about him being a team cancer, he's been on an awful lot of winning teams in Cleveland and Boston that didn't always have great pitching, and he's a major part of that. His antics have to reach T.O. levels to really decrease his value. The Red Sox almost certainly would eat at least some of his money, in fact they almost have to. If you can get Manny for $15 mil a year for 3 years, you're getting a hell of a player. Even when he is pissed off he still hits better than 99% of the league. On the other hand, Prior is a guy that has not pitched a full season yet in his major league career. Two of his injuries were a bit of a fluke, but he still had an achilles problem and his elbow was acting up earlier this year. He hasn't exactly pitched up to his talent in the last few years and it seems that he is regressing a bit (although injuries might play a role). Manny has a lot more value to his team than Prior does right now. If Prior were such a sought after pitcher that was going to put up Cy Young numbers for the next few years, he'd already be in Baltimore. He has the talent to do it, but it is far from a certainty with him at this point. You're still taking a risk with Prior in terms of his performance, whereas the only risk with Manny is team chemistry, something you're not too likely to worry about when you haven't won the division in that long a time. One pitcher doesn't make a pitching staff, so Manny would almost certainly have a bigger impact in Baltimore, since the O's would still be at least 2 good pitcher short of having a playoff-caliber rotation. his contract would be gone too
  6. i think we should change the term lastest in the title to latest...

  14. i realize there is some fight going on but this is directed to the bears were picked to finish last in division... we were also picked to be last in the league...which would have been fun to go after reggie bush(hell, i'd pick him no matter what) but obviously would have been a painful year. Then again, after the white sox winning, i wouldn't have really cared..of course, i do care...but still...less immediacy, i don't wanna be too greedy you konw
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) He was drafted out of high school. Basically he was a consensus as the best player to ever come out of Canada (highest drafted Canadian). The O's ended up totally low balling him (scouts loved this kid and immediately thought super star potential). He ended up going to JC and turned into a draft and follow and the O's signed him hr's before the deadline (when he would have re-entered the draft in 2003) to a major league deal (got a good signing bonus too, something in the upper 4's, maybe even low 5's). awesome, no further questions your honor

  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) Not bad, you get yourself a package like Loewen, Bedard, and than a major league reliever and I could live. I think we could do better, but I'll admit that I think if healthy both Loewen and Bedard are good pitchers. Loewen has some filthy stuff but is still raw. He's had control problems but made some strides and can flat out blow away people. i'm guessing he was out of high school?
  18. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) Loewen is a lefty who seems to have massive control problems. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/L/adam-loewen.shtml I do like that KW is trying to collect a bunch of lefties for Garland. loewen was their former 1st round pick from canada correct?
