  1. i'm starting to feel like we should keep him for this year...i'd be willing to sacrifice a couple of years in the future for back to back
  2. the only thing i worry about, is if we make this trade i still have questions in our staff...Bmac would have to be lights out like he was, contreras has to be consistent, and javier has to not be the new javier... i unno...it scares me, i'd almost rather just got nothing for him and have a go at it this year...but those are just thoughts created from fear of failure, we really have to go for this
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) And interestingly enough, that law would be passed with a Congressional pay raise, a suspension of Habeus Corpus, and a few tax cuts paper clipped to it.
  4. i'd like to get past all of this partison B.S. and just like to know if people think their government leaders should be held accountable if they break the law? Because I do.
  5. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) We should ask for Michael Young too. and teixera for good measure
  6. i think we should wait to trade him, and have that blow up in my face if he fails this year... so REMEMBER THIS POST!! if i have to eat crow post it if i was smart as hell, please please please post it
  7. QUOTE(rowand's rowdies @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 05:45 AM) i dont know why the sox would want to trade for pitching prospects. we dont give them a chance really ever. jenks doesnt count bc he was always major league ready, he just had mental problems. cotts was put in the bullpen immediatly. instead of giving one of our minor league amrs a chance, everyone (including KW i think) wants to plug in a major league reliever via FA or trade. if we trade garland for any minor league prospects i will be pissed. we use our prospects to trade for mlb players, which is fine and it has worked out for us so far. im not bashing the sox's way of going about things, im just making the point. i agree with it to a degree, although i would like to see a prospect get a chance to take the 4th and 5th OF spot and last bullpen spot. we gave dan wright, jon garland, kip wells, and mark buerhle all chances ...
  8. for the record, the angels were pretty hot too going into the playoffs

    My rant

    the only attitude i worry about that we picked up is vasquez...or however you spell his name, i'll have it down by spring training, and thats not even because i know he has one, just that there aren't reports about it that are so positive as have been written about thome and 'bobbie' mackowiak
  10. umm...lack of bold confused me

  15. boy, i do hope we can keep don cooper for as long as atlanta kept mazzoli
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 07:14 PM) Of course you agree as should everyone. The next person to make a Carl Everett trade joke should be banned. to be fair i think some people believe we'll trade for carl again, BUT I AGREE WHOLE HEARTEDLY secondly,(not directed to you) if anderson has a .320 OBP i'll be happy with him, That would be very nice if you ask me

  19. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) I rather have Blalock and Tejada
  20. QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) Looking @ the resviour bear sig makes my head hurt. the sunglasses look so bad yeah i used to make sigs a lot that looked purposefully bad, but then i got bored with it, and frankly i don't care about sigs anymore. I keep this just cause its easy for me to identify... Clearly by the oversized heads you should've realized it was a joke, and the uneven painted colors in the background...ahh, i should show you my old tillman one, i wonder if its lost
  21. but see, i just see a difference between howard stern, who is downright entertaining, i mean, he actually makes jokes that are funny... everytime i hear north on he's talking about some lasagna he got at some restaurant for 30 minutes...who is listening? Well me...s***!
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) And with that, your credibilty is shot. hahaha, don't i know it...but i've Matured! i think. Ahh well, i guess we'll see if i laugh at the next potty joke made... I'll get back to you on that yas
  23. being at u of missouri, i think this one kid said he wanted some of these players...its a terrible situation down there...i really thought they were ognna have a great rotation when runelvys hernandez or whatever and miguel acensio were pitchin so great in 03...shame it didn't work out...not for us but for them, how terrible would it feel to absolutely KNOW you won't do s*** and its not just because you are rebuilding, its because you will NEVER be winning
  24. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 05:55 PM) What if Tejada said that he wanted to stay if this and if that. Then you could say Tejada said he wanted to stay. sure yes, tea and cake, i realize this is all fun off season speculation, but i don't think that the orioles would WANT to trade the best SS in the game right now unless he threatens not to play, and from the sounds of it, he was just saying he wants to win. Now i realize they need pitching, but they also need marketing and such and such and angelos is a bottom line type o fella and with the nationals looking better and better, he might be worried about losing some of the marketability, scumbag he is. So all i'm saying, is compared to other trades, this really seems crackpot to me at the time. Although i was a part of chaveztalk.com
