  1. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) I love the new White Stripes album. He throws in a sweet banjo into some of his songs. My Doorbell rocks, Little Ghost is about as good as it gets, Denial Twist is good, Instinct Blues is a pretty good rock blues song, Passive Manipulation has a great sound (though it's only 30 seconds), Take, Take, Take might be the best song on the album, As Ugly as I seem is awesome, and then the single Blue Orchid is good. You want to talk about pretty bad? Check out the new Coldplay album. What a disappointment. thats what you get when a band steals someone elses sound, shaves anything offensive about it off, and once it sells records remains complacent in the formula so you have every cd sounding the same...those unoriginal scamps don't deserve a penny.
  2. soulseek...i've found my musical horizons have been broadened ten fold from that program...

    Summer Concerts

i'm going both days because i want to see tortoise and the Go! team ... but i might just go see the go team at the double door on the 15th...day two will be awesome...i want to see the decemberists (whom i saw at the metro in april and were phenominal...picaresque songs sounded so great especially mariners revenge!)...The wrens excite me to see and ANDREW BIRD!! if you haven't heard his album andrew bird and the mysterious production of eggs go get it. Its got a wilco-esque(beatle-esque) production value to it while he has a great voice and uses the violin exquisitely...a wonderful album... also xiu xiu but i'm kind of luke warm on them but i'd like to see them live... all for only 22 bucks!!! AND i'm gonna see modest mouse on the 28th i think it is...that should be awesome especially in that venue...i just hope we have a more retro lineup...nothing beats moon and antarctica and lonesome crowded west songs live..
  4. i'm actually suprised there aren't more pink floyd fans here...and to anyone who isn't because of unfamiliarity, i encourage you to actually go and purchase a floyd album and really listen to it... i know a number of friends who have been converted just cause they never actually listened to it
  5. i encourage nobody...NOBODY to check out lifehouse
  6. remember in swingers he was playing with the blackhawks on nhl 94... chicago love
  7. this was awesome news...i'm a big floyd fan and it was painful to see the watered down crap that was pink floyd touring without roger waters... waters is an asshole but thats prolly because he is what one would call eccentric...what others would call crazy... anyway...ugh...no way U2s over produced garbage compares to the originality of floyd. PLUS...you better hope for a tour...because if i'm correct from the last time i read...bands aren't getting a very long set and for pink floyd that would be like 4 songs...
  8. The part about him giving her a diagnosis we agree...he did not give her a "diagnosis" yasny...but what we are debating right now is a question he was asked on the today show, where lauer asked did he sway other senators...being that he was a practicing physician...by saying that shiavo does respond in the video he saw...and he just said that he never said she responded...in which he clearly stated she did...in fact he said she responds... the only ridiculous part of that conversation is you were trying to make them seem wrong because they weren't proving a point you made...
  9. they'll never make duplicate album...thats for coldplay...but i think we will seem more instrumental compositions.
  10. i think they took it as far as they could with electronics...and i'd welcome the change back to instrumentals especially with how good they all are with their instruments. i loved hail to the thief and every album minus pablo honey...and i can't imagine not liking this one. Especially if they are gonna have an album where they change their styles... in other news, jeff tweedy said wilcos next album will be a dance album...
  11. thom opens up on new album Kid A like change? I'm fairly sure that this album will revert back to more instruments and less electronic backgrounds. More acoustic compositions...i think jonny doing Bodysong was great for his confidence and i think the 7th LP will see personalities such as jonny emerge. I think this will be the best album since OKC...and yet kid a was my favorite album...so i don't know why i always do that. It should be phenominal. I'm so psyched. House of cards and arpeggi sound great. I love radiohead...i love them so much.
  12. in response to wharris i know it. But mroczek easily could have closed and done well. He's pitched a no-hitter this year.
  13. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 06:17 PM) Two kids from Flower Mound HS just went back to back? What's in the water there? steroids
  14. wharris...do you go to waubonsie??? bernatowics has had an awesome playoffs and i think the way our offense has come through we should do well...we have no bullpen except for mroczek...so hopefully we'll get to see bowden pitch on saturday.
  15. Bowden to boston!!! holy s***... he'll pitch saturday at Kane county if we win on friday
  16. sometimes i think he should just get rid of the stretch...forget about the men on base ala maddux...i think hes got good enough stuff to know he can get out of any jam
  17. no...its a pretty big story when you pay all that money for a team and they suck...
  18. yeah, i know...but we've had offense for four years and we never got coverage like the orioles...
  19. i stopped reading half way through but i thought i should mention that when school is in session, especially with finals...parents bring their kids less often then in september because there is less going on in the beginning of the year...once school is out we see it spike up in attendance...thats always been my logic...i can't go to any games until i graduate.
  20. heres the article link Bowden fires perfect game this kid threw a perfect game with 19 Ks...he has something like 112 Ks and 5 walks...goes to my school Waubonsie...hits 94 on the radar. Its pretty insane going to baseball games and seeing like 12 scouts behind the plate...after this year...when i'm gone though, we really don't have anybody behind us...pretty amazing big three we had this year: Mason stewart: U of Northern Iowa (bball) Paul Blalock: U of I (football) Bowden (ASU) but really draft
  21. i remember when he hit that grand slam for the cubs
  22. we are getting attention...but for a while it seemed like they were forced to talk about it...i think my least favorite comment was one that said : "the white sox have led in 26 consecutive games...of course that leads us to say how come they haven't won every one" they cover us...but they always threw in shots that they thought this was temporary...and maybe it is...but they sure do love talkin bout the orioles.
  23. hahaha... i DO think he be a graffanino like util guy though. I really like his swing. It makes me want to go outside and play baseball but then i realize its cold out.
