I think he’s probably the same. All the players say he’s pretty chill. Gonna be Caleb 24/7 if bet -

I feel like that was the case the first decade and then the nfl took a bigger grip and now I don't think it matters that much personally. -

I have started to trust apple weather most and they say it holds off until 10 -
Let’s gooooo Let’s see what happens when the cubs face the red hot white Sox
-
For the record I’m still a bit colson fan. But just remembering that judging our prospects is like rooting for the kid at the science fair who clearly had no help from his parents. He’ll figure it out.
-
Oof that’s a scary write up
-
I still think it’s aggressive, especially with no June draft pushing anyone in.
-
His approach that vaulted him has been what has disappeared against better competition with better command. It's tough to watch, because he came in like a unicorn unlike any other prospect we had and now it feels like he's getting sox-ified. But reality is the sox don't help these kids at all and he'll just have to figure it out on his own so hopefully he does. It's gotten a little better recently. However, each month has been a little better (march was a few games but miserable games) April - .217 / . 317 / .386 slg with 35% k rate May - .242 / .340 / .429 with a 23% k rate His walk rate has stuck in that 11-12% range. But this will be a big month. We've seen prospects struggle to start, get their head above water and then crater. Time to see if he can thrive. But if I was Baseball America or a ranking org I'd definitely start to drop him unless he can get his contact rate improved.

I would have been super pumped about hard knocks ten or so years ago. But it is so boring now. You get basically nothing except some UDFA formulaic storytelling. -
I would have a big open mind for all the position players we've discussed, though just can't pull trigger for the 1bs. The big reason : there is no big chasm between Keith Law's rankings and these middle infielders even if their profiles don't scream out to me.
-
I don't hate him, but I would say the worst pairing in the world would have to be Wetherholts soft tissue and the chicago white sox.
-
as the one pro Sal Perez poster...I will claim vindication
-
I think Grifol is getting closer to turning this around, the spirit of the players seems really strong. He's avoided the double loss. We have to just keep believing.
-
But my other side of this is if Colson hits, brooks is a Michael Massey level guy, and we keep Robert… this pitching coming up looks good. As much as I hate this org, we have once again still hovered above the Rockies. We have a shot if we can be lucky on pitcher injuries and need Colson to hit.
-
It’s such a bummer because good ownership is such a wild card. Kansas City’s rebuild was so DOA. They did the same “what if …all pitching”? But with just one real dude, some veteran surprise, and dominant pitching, here they are. But it’s because being smart on the margins matters, and god is our org the most wasteful, idiotic team on the margins. It’s so funny to me that even in our complete tank years of 2017-19 we were running higher team salaries than the Rays and As. If you can’t do more with less, you definitely can’t do more with more.

I don't really know what to make of it in college because he also crushes the ball however it's so weird to me caglianone only has 4 doubles.
-
I still feel like benintendi is that case. We had $8 million to spend and finally benintendi says "sure i'll take $8 mill next year as long as you give me a 4 year deal". His deal was pretty small for a player like that. Corner outfielders with no power aren't who I'd have banked on, and it appears so for other teams. They all must know something sox don't know, which is where I find it to be a scouting issue.
-
The k rate scares me with Montgomery but at least he has a true cannon that makes him a more interesting guy as a corner of.
-
TBH what stands out for Pillar is actually succeeding after it. I think sox Player Dev is what has destroyed the decade, but for the vet stuff I think that's just a mixture of bad scouting and needing to take chances on cheaper players who were cheap because they were 30+ You could just feel hahn walk around like "I have $12 mill, who will take it? Castellanos, no? Moustakas? no? Ozuna? Edwin? you'll take it? You were pretty good, we'll give it to edwin"
-
One question I struggle with is - have the sox actually performed better than you'd expect with pitchers like Smith or worse? I actually lean a little better - feels like they did better harnassing stuff then getting guys with command to play up as well as the guardians do. I'd be ok going smith. Would be nice if we could supplement it with an intl class with some big swings.
