If you could guarantee me one of the big 3 receivers at 9, then I would not really want Mike Williams, who would barely see the field in 12 personnel or push our rookie to not seeing the field. If you guarantee me that one of the big 3 receivers are not there, then getting a big receiver would be extremely helpful. You can't guarantee me one of the big 3 are there, the bears sign williams, they are there, and we pass on them for jared verse...well I will just hate that. So I guess I'd prefer the risk and go after a renfrow/samuel smaller slot guy. Or Noah Brown/craig reynolds.

Maybe what caught up with the bears is none of those trades - wentz, darnold, rosen, etc worked out at all so now league may be super skeptical on that growth path. ESP with 6 QBs in top 75 or so.

For all the discussion of Fields passing, I do think the number one thing that teams don't want to deal with is possessions being DOA because he adds another 2-3 sacks per game. It just makes it really hard to be a high scoring offense with those kind of things happening.

people love the joke about the legal tampering period, and though it is probably different than what NFL intended, I think there is value to having a few days for publicly known agreements where players could see if they misjudged with their agents and still had opportunity to back out. It isn't common, but if so, it allows a player who may be in their "one shot" at a big deal to evaluate. Their agent will get crunched, but it's their fault anyway.

Some chatter about this being a missed opportunity for the mccaskeys but I dont see, as a bears fan, why I should care about their loss revenue in sucking money from gambling addicts in AH will truly affect the bears operations.
