QUOTE (lord chas @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 08:24 AM) Plus the 30 minute wait in line. Good but little overhyped to me Really delayed but if you want a very comparable burger for much cheaper and no line, Fatso's Last Stand on Chicago Ave. Funny enough, I just did a search of both comparing each other and alas, found an article that suggests going to Fatso's instead. http://www.thepizzle.net/so-hows-shake-shack/

and Please God, don't go to Cheescake Factory. It's a chain, find something true to Chicago. Pricepoint will help, Low, Mid, High-end? What is your group looking for?

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 10:23 AM) Yeah or Xoco may make more sense for lower cost. Their milanesa is so good. I think I like it better than Cemitas Puebla. My wife and I go there weekly, there has been 2 times in 5 years where she has NOT ordered the Milanesa.

QUOTE (bjm676 @ Aug 11, 2015 -> 11:50 AM) just got back from a long weekend in New Orleans. Awesome trip. Food - excellent, music - excellent. Must go back soon. Where'd you eat and see music? Been there a bunch but always looking for rec's. Thanks!

Going to Tulum, Mexico in October... 1. Anyone ever rented a car in Mexico? We'd like to tour some of the Yucatan but heard that the paperwork/insurance can be ridiculous! 2. Any daytrip recommendations?

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 12:29 PM) Leaving Friday on our honeymoon for 21 days. Flying in to Milan then heading to Rome, followed by Antibes, Paris and Reykjavik. Very excited. I lived in Germany for a few years when I was a kid but haven't been back in 20 years. And this is the first time out of the country (other than Canada) for my wife. Nice, Reykajavik looks great. We loved Paris...I strongly recommend doing Bike About Tours. They take you to all the "less-talked about sites", for example, they took us to the place of Jim Morrison's death and many secret gardens/alleys, etc. AMAZING tour.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jun 29, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) Edley's Bar-B-Que in Nashville is really good. I've only been to the location in East Nashville (right across the river), but I'm pretty sure there's another one too. Loveless Cafe is just awesome, even if it is touristy City House has an amazing Belly Ham pizza with a fried egg on it...I was talked into it as I am a pizza snob like most Chicagoans and it's just awesome.

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Mar 15, 2015 -> 11:19 PM) LA for a weekend in mid April. Saturday night I will be at the Home Depot Center for a boxing match. Free Friday and Sunday. Thinking, Venice Beach boardwalk, Hollywood and star walk, perhaps the wax museum. Might venture to Little Tokyo to find some sushi. Staying in Culver City, found decently priced room and close to everything. Will have a car. What am I missing? Kang Ho-Dong Baekjeong

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 07:31 PM) Hanauma Bay snorkeling is the best thing by far I did in Hawaii. Didn't really like Hawaii though. Rained too much so hopefully you avoid that. Spain for me tomorrow yay It rained one day out of my 12 day trip there. Before you go, download all app's by "Revealed" - Kauai Revealed, Oahu Revealed and so on. This will save your ass, app tracks your whereabouts and tells you everything there is to do around there and they star the best or most local places to go. Best things... Kauai Must Do's Anything to do with Kalalau Trail/Napali Coast - hike it, helicopter, boat tour. This is a MUST do Eat at Puka Dog Check out every beach that you see on the Kauai Revealed app, the best beaches in Kauai need to be hiked anywhere from a couple of minutes to 20 minutes but you will not be disappointed Queen's Bath - must see to believe Hee Fat General Store - They do shaved ice differently in Hawaii and this is the best Waimea Canyon - Hawaii's Grand Canyon...drive all the way to the end of the road, crazy awesome lookout Oahu Must Do's Spitting Caves during sunset Hanauma Bay is cool, water was very choppy when there so it was tough to see, I'd love to go back North Shore, check out Bonzai Pipeline, even when it's not "going off" - the waves are enourmous Eat at Opal Thai in the North Shore, on Triple D, was one of the best meals and funnest times I've had at a restaurant.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 01:00 PM) Yeah unfortunately, there isn't a lot that can be done without making some waves. I'd be looking to leave that place ASAP. Too many positives, work from home, not much pressure, Fortune 200 company, lots of opportunity, great salary....I have had this happen before at another company and got my money (at another company).

Sorry if I missed it but I remember a thread about anything related to work, career, etc. I am getting screwed out of my annual bonus... I began early August 2014, as written on my agreement, I can receive up to X% of my salary prorated from my start date. I was told as recently as last month, I am eligible and will be receiving a bonus. I did not get the bonus when they went out last week. I was told that when it was checked with HR, that June starts are the cutoff date for bonuses with extensive apologies from the boss I took the lower end of the salary range contingent upon my bonus, received both written and verbal notification of it, have held up my end of agreement as well as rated myself in our company system. This system is tied to our bonus program and is reviewed by upper management, everything was "met expectations" as I am still fairly new. I was going to let them know all of the above and that both parties are responsible for the agreement AND if I wasn't eligible for a bonus, why am I rating myself on the company website if it is tied to your bonus? Also going to mention that this has happened to me at other positions and I do not want it to get to that point at this one where you are promised but not given. I have my own tactics but I think it is always helpful to hear what others have to say or have done in order to coax the money out of them.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 05:30 PM) I love those quotes, so what happens if they do not? I can't stand it. It would be great if it was like an everyday job, if you come in with promises and don't deliver, you get fired.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 26, 2014 -> 10:09 AM) Twice, with what doesn't appear to be much effect: Somebody punching you in the face twice doesn't generally justify deadly force in response. True but then again, if he connects in the temple which he is pretty close to judging by his small wounds, goodnight.

I have this pain behind my knee (more towards the back side of my knee). It is very weird how it comes and goes... If I am sitting for a while and then get up, I can feel it. If I were to bend my leg as far back as possible, I could feel it. Sometimes it feels like it could give out at any moment. Never a ton of pain but soreness, moreso. I can play sports, sometimes I will feel it, sometimes I won't. I tend to sleep on my side with my legs bent so I can definitely feel it in the morning until I work it out but it's not just a morning thing. -
QUOTE (kevo880 @ Sep 12, 2014 -> 04:47 PM) Yeah I plan on not worrying about money too much while we are there, but I don't think it would do enough for me to drop $700 on it. My wife and I did the Napali helicopter your last week on our honeymoon, it was $180 a person. The most expensive I had seen is the one that drops you into the Jurassic Falls for around $270 a person. A $700 ride for two better come with a 4 course meal lol Kauai and Oahu are both incredible for their own different reasons

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 05:34 PM) Fantastic sign. It is either yours to offer or you are in the final 2. Normally companies don't spend the money / effort to go through references until they have made up their mind or at least put you into the final two or three spots. I got it, pretty solid week for me, wife and I got a new place and a new position within a 48 hour span.

My wife and I got our first place in Bridgeport, $850 a month, 2 years old. Place is beautiful and an absolute steal. Oh and Schaller's is steps away, score

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 17, 2014 -> 12:32 PM) THe rug just got pulled out from underneath me. My wife was expecting her job to allow her to work from home if we moved to Iowa. They just told her now that she cannot (even though all 3 of the people above her were ok with it). Looks like I have to turn down the job now. I am so pissed. That's just s***ty. I wonder if mentioning that you had accepted a job because of what she was told would do anything?
