  1. QUOTE (The Gooch @ Mar 1, 2014 -> 04:58 PM) I'm heading to Vegas again in April. Staying at the Wynn, gonna try to see Avicii at XS or Encore Beach Club. Somebody always has some Vegas tips no matter where you ask, so anyone recommend anything? We are traveling 4 guys deep, so anything from nightclubs/bars to strip clubs, etc. I spend a lot of time in Vegas for work, for dining check out Wazuzu (Encore) and Public House (Venetian), great food at both. XS is amazing, never been to EBC but I have been to Marquee Day Club which has the best selection of women I have seen in one space. Personally, I would go see Steve Angello at XS on the 19th, I just think he's the better DJ. If you are in true party mode, you could do EBC for Avicii during the day and follow that up with Steve Angello at XS but that would be tough. You might want to see what's going on at Hakkasan and Light, two new superclubs as well that are both supposed to be incredible. Just looked: Calvin Harris is at Hakkasan that weekend, I would strongly suggest doing a pool party no matter where it is at though. If you aren't buying a table, make sure you buy tickets ahead of time.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) Ive started using a 36in-38oz bat. its hard to resist the urge to try and pull it through the zone quickly and just let the bat do the work. I have been using smaller bats my entire softball career. 2 weeks ago I decided to give a 36 a shot, hit 3 homers in our doubleheader all to the opposite field. I would highly suggest giving a bigger bat a try if you haven't before as I have been smoking balls ever since and I am not very strong.
  3. Currently we have Manny Machado as a 23rd round keeper, we are being offered straight up Yasiel Puig as a 25th round keeper. Do we take the last round keeper or keep the more premium position? Team is tanking and probably won't make the playoffs so this trade has no implications on our season this year. Edit: we have Longoria and David Wright, may do one of them for Puig. Keepers for next 10 years equals - Puig and Machado
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 05:17 PM) He just had incredible usage last year. Usage = stats. He shot 43% and turned the ball over 4 times per game. What is Russell Westbrook then? Lower career FG% and AST/TO ratio of under 2 which is horrendous even with a top 2 player in the game on his team. Isn't he considered elite? Jrue is 23 years old and will only get better with more time under his belt Difficult to be efficient when the you are on a team where Thaddeus Young is your second best player. Have we already forgotten the Sixers being a game 7 away from ECF led by Holiday? Now he has Eric Gordon (if not traded) and Ryan Anderson on the wings and some guy named Anthony Davis to practice alley oops with
  5. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 02:02 PM) I'm not really understanding the Pelicans right now. First they give up a ton to get Jrue Holiday, who's a decent but not stellar PG. Then they make a 4-44 offer sheet to Tyreke Evans, who can't shoot and can struggle when he's off the ball. Oh, and Eric Gordon is still on the roster and will be difficult to move. Their one saving grace is that their pick might end up in the top-5 next year when Gordon inevitably gets hurt, which means they get to keep it. Well, assuming Anthony Davis doesn't dominate and single-handedly send the pick to Philly. I'm going to go ahead and say that Jrue Holiday is much better than a decent point guard. Guy is 23 years old just off his first all star game, very bright future and still getting better. Now he'll have some more weapons (as sad as that sounds) than he did in Philly
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 10:52 PM) Far as statistical and overall on-court (LeBron will never be as loved/popular) impact? Better? I wouldn't say that. Just as good? Definitely. If you want to break it up some and compare their individual skill-sets, etc, I see it like this: Getting to the rim and finishing: LeBron Ball-handling: Tie Post-game: MJ Mid-range: MJ Long-range: Tie (and I'm being generous here. Three of Michael's four best seasons from deep came when the 3-point line was moved in. Another year or two like '13 from LeBron, and he's got the edge) Rebounding: LeBron Passing: LeBron Defense: LeBron (his freakish size and versatility or the ability to guard every position on the floor well trumps Michael's insane on-ball defense) These are the things that you can either use stats or simply your eyes (though I'm sure some will disagree). I look at Kobe and the level he was playing at before his injury at age 34 and then think about LeBron, who's bigger, stronger, more athletic and injury-proof, and it's easy to project that he could very well still be the best player in the game at 34-35 if he plays until then (much like MJ). What about TWTW???
  7. Out of that list, I would choose John Smoltz. Many people carry guns in their pockets (which is also stupid) but who the F**K in their right mind would take a scolding hot iron and try to iron the shirt that you are wearing?!?!?!
  8. bought one at Oscar's in Bridgeport on 35th and Halsted, they treat you very well and give you good prices. Definitely a place to checkout
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 22, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) LOL, Glenn Beck LOL just checking
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 22, 2013 -> 12:55 PM) LOL. It amuses me at no end that there are people that ridiculously stupid in this world. Me or Glenn Beck?
  11. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 22, 2013 -> 12:36 PM) Thanks for the warning. I'll get out the tinfoil. http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/...boston-massacre
  12. i don't watch Glenn Beck but he's supposedly dropping a major story today regarding this at 2 PM.
  13. OK, who has some insight into Nassau, never been before. Going in a couple of months... Day trips, bars, restaurants, etc. are all welcome. I like to focus more on the Local places to go, of course I'll check out Atlantis one day but I am mostly looking for the unknown.
  14. QUOTE (Joxer_Daly @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 06:23 AM) Best of luck with it and everything that follows. Thanks from across the pond! Was supposed to be there this past weekend for my cousins wedding but couldn't make it..
  15. QUOTE (Joxer_Daly @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 07:06 PM) I wouldn't stress it too much, whatever you do. I didn't actually ask mine, but he was on the other side of Europe, so it was no big deal. It would never have ocurred to me to do so, to be honest. But, having seen how my Da appreciated my brother in law doing it, I'd definitely say it's a nice thing to do. But don't go mental. Just do something you'd normally do - would you go for a pint together, at all, from time to time? Goin to dinner with him, it won't be a big deal, just throwing the question out there!
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 05:45 PM) Must be something younger couples do as this never even crossed my mind when I proposed. My wife was independent and living on her own for 15 years or so when I asked her to marry me. We are both independent and living on our own as well, it's been something that I've known was somewhat traditional since I was young.
  17. How did you all break the news to her father that you want to marry his daughter? Golf? Dinner? Bar? What seems like it should be so easy, is actually very nerve-wrecking!
  18. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 11, 2012 -> 08:06 AM) I scored 150 points and lost by 3 because I played Rashad Jennings (5 points) and Ben Tate (5 points). I had MJD (who I thought was gonna get like 8 touches), Richardson (who was bad) and Michael Bush (who i was gonna play until I saw Foster might be here). Ugh. What terrible decisions. I lost because I got no touchdowns out of my ridiculous group of McCoy, Fitzgerald, Dez, Nicks. Nice
  19. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 03:52 PM) LET'S GO UBALDO!!! too bad he absolutely SUCKS against the Tigers, let's go UBALDO
  20. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 04:13 PM) Urlacher tells Lou Canellis that he's going to play in the opener. I fully expect Urlacher to not play in the opener. Idiot. RIP Off topic but I saw Lou Canellis at Trader Joes on Roosevelt over the weekend, hot wife. Ironically, I saw her in the melon section
  21. I had Kromarczuk's at two seperate games within three days and did not think they were any better than what is currently served at the Cell. Left field corner there is a guy serving a fresh roast with a bun and horseradish sauce, that was awesome. Yes, Surly has awesome beer and the lines are atrocious as the game is going on, get there early and grab one

  23. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jun 6, 2012 -> 05:55 PM) Is there a beer better than 3 Floyds Zombie Dust? I'm obsessed with the stuff. Too bad you can only get it at the brewery. Time to make another trip to Munster.... Not true, you can get it at Maria's in Bridgeport, they bring in quite a few shipments and my past 3 or 4 visits they have had it on tap
  24. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) 2nds are pretty useless, but maybe the Bulls will pick a guy like Jared Berggren who could do a lot of what Asik does, but also can shoot. Korver himself was a 2nd rounder, Michael Redd, Manu, Boozer, Monta Ellis, Rashard Lewis, Stephen Jackson, Marc Gasol, Mehmet Okur. All somewhat recent 2nd round picks You never know
  25. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 03:24 PM) Yep, get him in Chicago, let him see the UC (and let him play half a year without Rose where hell be the man), and then see if he wants to stay. As long as you dont have to move Noah, it really shouldnt matter. I've heard in the past that Adidas doesn't want both (Rose/Howard) of them in the same city, anyone else hear this?
