  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 7, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) Thru 7 innings...90 pitches aaaaand it's ova
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 7, 2011 -> 04:30 PM) Moscoso of the A's no-hitting the Royals thru 6. Good timing for a spot start on my fantasy team today, ay?
  3. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Sep 3, 2011 -> 08:04 PM) Will the Bears add anyone to their secondary now that teams are getting their rosters down? Brandon Meriweather
  4. QUOTE (vandy125 @ Aug 9, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) How many teams in the league? Because of what the Steelers defense is usually like, I wouldn't be incredibly high on Roethlisberger since they can switch to run mode pretty easily. He is just not consistent enough for me. Depending on what your league is like, I'd even think about keeping Gates. Otherwise, no one really stands out to me there except Wallace. I would see him as a pretty good keeper. I also have a dilemma in my keeper league. We are able to keep 3 of our players in a PPR, 12 team league. I'm definitely keeping Aaron Rodgers and Ray Rice. My final decision is between: Matt Forte Peyton Hillis Frank Gore I really don't know where to go with this one (I also have Wallace and Gates but am sure I should go with a 2nd RB). It's a 10 team league, I'm not Ben's biggest fan either, just the fact that I get a probably top 10 QB in the 10th round (where I can draft another one in the top 9 somewhere) is a little appealing. I think I am leaning towards Wallace though. Is there a lost draft pick associated with keeping any of them? Just looking at them without knowing I'd say Forte. I just don't see Hillis having the same year, Gore always finds a way to miss a couple or more games (coupled with Alex Smith) just doesn't do it for me. Forte is a horse
  5. In a keeper football league, anyone in 4th round or later is eligible and you lose that round. Without a doubt keeping Mendenhall and I think I'm going to go with Roethlisberger but I have some other decent ones. Mike Wallace? Steve Smith NYG and Rice both are big if's. 4 Steve Smith (CAR) - NO CHANCE 5 Antonio Gates 6 Percy Harvin 7 Mike Wallace 8 LaDanian Tomlinson - NO CHANCE 9 JETS D 10 Ben Roethlisberger 12 Steve Smith (NYG) 13 Rashard Mendenhall - BEING KEPT 15 Sidney Rice Wallace or Roethlisberger? I keep wanting to lean towards Rice because of how late he was drafted but his injury and QB status push me obviously
  6. Good call on both, thanks!
  7. So I am trying to update my resume but have never run into an issue like this before since I am a fresh college grad... My last position was as a manufacturer's representative, dealing with pretty much each and every type of marketing you could imagine.. My new position which I have just started, there are many things that I do the EXACT same as my last position because it is the same in scope, just for another company (example: trade shows, process of setting up, working it and the end product, blah blah blah and all the good stuff you put on a resume) - how do you distinguish the differences between these two duties when listing what you do at each position. I hope this makes sense, kind of hard to explain I guess. I will elaborate below... Company ABC - Current Position Using four plus years of trade show experience - setting up of, sample ordering, working directly with retailers, shipping of product back to offices or stores Company XYZ - 2004 - June 2011 Over four years of trade show experience - setting up of, sample ordering, working directly with retailers, shipping of product back to offices or stores It is OK to have the same wording for two different positions as I am doing the exact same thing? Not sure how companies view things like this - hopethis makes sense!
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 04:07 PM) Oh man. That sounds like a headache. Sorry dude. Yeah kinda, the good thing is I can look for another position in the mean time and you can't really beat working from home as your first job out of college. It is there loss because it is difficult to find people that are actually motivated enough to work from home! EDIT: what timing, I finally got a list of retailers we are in, oh the irony. Now for the other 100 things I need...
  9. Took a sales executive position for a company working out of my house, started on the 1st of the month. Numerous things have taken at least a week to answer that should take 5 minutes. Have asked for listings of current stores we are in, listings of sales numbers to see which stores are ordering the most, business cards, an e-mail address with my name listed rather than "[email protected]" etc. 3 weeks in and nothing yet - while they ask how my sales are going, gotta love the corporate world always giving people the tools they need to succeed. Best part is I have wasted quite a bit of time trying to contact various stores across the country (some probably about an hour of time on) to find out they already have our products and I sound like an idiot in the process because I don't have a listing. I can't imagine its in anyones best interest to be reporting directly to the president of the company, he has already pulled every excuse out of the book why I haven't gotten answers. LOL, as long as I'm getting a paycheck
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) I'm shocked at how bad Greinke's pitched in the NL so far. I really thought he'd dominate people. K/BB ratio of 70/9 too
  11. They are OK looking per their facebook profile, how is this guy not fired? It's pretty much equal to a racist comment and we know he would've been fired for that
  12. Juan Uribe Ryan Braun old Vladimir Guerrero Jon Lester I've always liked Doc Halladay but the past few years I love him
  13. I like to Wiki old WWF and WCW wrestlers, it's amazing the lives (whether successful or in trouble) that some of them have now. Lex Luger has some issues
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) That guy just shot and robbed him in 94. That's not the night he was murdered in 96. Your right, I jumped the gun
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 03:09 PM) Last time I was at Bull & Bear Antoine Walker was there and it was slightly more crowded than I enjoy. I was at B&B on Thanksgiving night with a friend of mine and a bunch of guys he knows from downtown, we had the table right next to Wilmer Valderrama. pretty funny
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 03:09 PM) Last time I was at Bull & Bear Antoine Walker was there and it was slightly more crowded than I enjoy. A bar close by would be English which has 3 floors and therefore you can somewhat camp out on one of the floors. Are you mainly looking at River North (I ask because I only suggested English as its a block from Bull & Bear). (edit) And absolutely do not go to VIPs. Just get super drunk and go to the Admiral, drinking in a strip club does not offset pasties. English may be a good one, we are not looking for any areas in particular, just something that would be good for a party of around 40 people Amen on the VIP's, I was actually thinking about Boss Bar (may not be ideal for a large party though) because a lot of the bartenders are dancers at the Admiral
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 03:21 PM) It's probably cause I'm old now, but Bull & Bear was one of the worst bars I've ever been to. I'm not a HUGE fan, just trying to think of something a little different (IE table taps). A lot of suburbanites flooding the place now just like what had happened to Rockit
  18. We knew that Tupac was dead but now a man that shot him that night stepped forward!! http://www.xxlmag.com/news/2011/06/convict...james-rosemond/
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 01:59 PM) Bull & Bear actually gets really crowded really quickly. It's more narrow than it looks. I know, I figured we'd get forced into getting close to some females a little quicker
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 02:00 PM) Public House has the same tap deal and there is a back area that can accomodate 40 people. Can you pre pay and get any booze or beer on tap that you want and drink till its all gone. Yes! I actually already e-mailed them about their table tap area and am waiting to hear back
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 12:35 PM) I would do that and then if the weather is going to be nice, try to rent out a patio at a bar up north like Cody's or even something more on the main drag. I say Cody's because they have outdoor darts and bags. That is definitely a nice one, thanks!
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 01:00 PM) What area, and what type of bar? If you could narrow down to the general area you will be we could probably throw some suggestions out for you. Area isn't a big deal, like I said earlier I know pretty much every bar, club and restaurant in the city. Just looking for anyone that has experience with certain bars with a group of people that large to accommodate with drink package, service, etc. I was thinking Bull & Bear (renting out 2 of the table taps so that more ppl can fit) and thought that might be cool for a large group in their back area. I guess if it were to come down to area, up north would be great with all of the different bars but I don't think we are going to have 40 people bar hopping A bar open until 5 am would also be ideal!
  23. Thanks - The groom is a Cubs fan so that is out of the equation, we are already going paintballing, strippers on party bus, etc. Just looking moreso for bars that anyone has had experience with a group of about 40 at!
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 08:57 AM) Generally, how old is this group of guys? Might make a difference in the types of places recommended. Sorry, should've said that, we are 25. His brother and his friends are around 30, lots of uncles and dad's friends going too. So, all over the board really. The older guys are all cool so they will be up for anything that involves partying
