  1. QUOTE (DOWNTOWN PANTHER @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 10:22 AM) Disgruntled fan??? My team won the NL Central last year. I think I speak on behalf of the Reds fans when I say that not having Dunn is a good thing. For the Reds at leat. I think we can politely agree to disagree. All I can say is lets hear your take on your 56 Million dollar man come July. I think you may be taking this a bit too serious. I think that is easy for you to say when the man that came up behind him at first was NL MVP which is fine, but I think the Reds success has more to do with their young pitching/hitting finally maturing and a lot less to do with Adam Dunn being in the lineup
  2. Per Marc Silverman's Facebook, Matt Garza to Cubs should happen today
  3. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 10:10 PM) Yep, watching Deng miss those FTs was damn frustrating. I didn't realize he's only shooting 69% from the stripe this year. That's awful... That is pretty bad, maybe he needs to come off a make-believe off the ball screen and shoot a jumper from the corner of the FT line as his free throws. It's amazing how solid he can be from 2 feet farther back while the game is in play, just a choker from the line, that's all
  4. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 08:32 PM) Money isn't really the issue, Deng works and so does a pile of non-essential players (Brewer or Watson would help a lot). The problem will come from a talent perspective as I'm not sure Houston is that anxious to move a solid player signed to a reasonable deal for 3 years for what the Bulls have to offer. They did bring in Terrence Williams for a reason, maybe he could be a reason they ship K-Mart out!
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 04:53 PM) It's not like guys like Spud Webb and Nate Robinson dunk(ed) all day long, but they've supplied some pretty memorable moments. All I am wondering is if anyone has been voted to the dunk contest with a lower number than 2 dunks, I understand that these guys are voted in based on creativity but we see Nate Robinson dunk on fast breaks more than 2 times, we have seen Spud Webb drive baseline and dunk on Manute Bol and on breakaways more than 2 times. Brandon Jennings has 2 dunks this year. Thought it was just kind of a weird stat that someone may have an answer for, I couldn't find anything online
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 04:28 PM) I'm actually really looking forward to this contest. I've seen that before, it should be pretty good, but seriously has anyone ever had a smaller number of dunks than Jennings and be asked to participate? Jennings has some ups
  7. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) Goose Island Green Line is delicious. And I love beer flights. and good for the environment lol
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 12:29 PM) Now why are you going to beat up a woman who could make you such amazing meals... If she actually MAKES me a meal, then I'm sure I could hold the hatred back. Until then....
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) I would like to fight that guy who said Mike Vick should of been executed. Not because I like Vick a lot, just because that guy is a pompous douchebag who tried to make it into some sort of Christian speech Best part is I read somewhere he was an avid hunter LOL
  10. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 01:10 PM) There hasn't been a ton of good music out there the past year or two so that has killed the talk. The hipster trend has died down, hard rock is god awful nowadays, and rap/rock is poop. The only thing worth talking about is hip-hop and even that is uninteresting most of the time. I have been wanting some stuff that is new and fresh myself. Actually electronic music is probably the most interesting topic, pretty much everything else is garbage now. Electronic artists are blowing up like rockstars were back in the day
  11. Has anyone ever taken part in the dunk contest with less dunks than Brandon Jennings has up to that given date? I know he was injured but he has 2 dunks. 2, Two, To, Too, Dos, Du
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 10:37 AM) http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/01/05/ano...nba-super-trio/ I really don't think those 3 players are as dumb as LBJ, Rose and Westbrook are both PG's and Russell currently plays with a top 2 or 3 player in the league. But WOW
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 08:36 AM) No surprise at all. Sounds like Mayo hasn't grown up at all since high school, which is what scares me about him. Tony Allen said "Don't F*** with Chicago"
  14. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 07:43 AM) I'd be embarrassed if I were him. Yeah he is in the NBA, but still. He is like that white walk-on that everyone loves on the team because he sucks and only plays in blowouts. How soon before they chant his name near the end of games? I'd love to sit on the bench in the NBA, it's not like he is making $12,000 to sit on the bench for the D-League Rio Grande Valley Vipers
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 03:33 PM) Not me. I'm following the game... not dot races, big macs, kiss cams, or any of that crap. Again, if that is more of your energy than a key AB, go home. I respect that because I go for the game as well, but if you can honestly say that in between a break in the game that you don't pay attention to when they stretch and blow up goofy looking bald men's heads on the jumbotron and can say you haven't cracked a smile or laughed, I don't believe you
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 03:36 PM) Really? I can't even count how many free McMuffins I have eaten in the past 3 years from Blackhawks games. Maybe thats why they look at me funny.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 03:19 PM) I'm not talking about Chicago Stadium. But since Jordan has been gone, the fans at the UC have been bad. I've seen them cheer for 100 points even in losing efforts. Scoring 100 doesn't guarantee a win in the NBA. I blame the crowds at Bulls games on Cubs fans really. More of a thing to do/social event rather than a sporting event. I go to a fair amount of Bulls game each year and I can't say I have witnessed (whether at the game or on TV) cheering at the UC for the Bulls because they scored 100 points while losing and the game is in the bag, isn't most of the crowd gone when it's pretty much a loss? Maybe some young kids and their parents getting excited for 100 points LOL
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) If you are cheering louder for a big mac, than for anything else at a Bulls game, you need to stay home. I know it is just my opinion, but I hate it. That's not just at a Bulls game, its at all sporting events. That's why you see the "Loud-O-Meter" or whatever you call it, or if you everyone is cheering for Biggy Bagel or Cuppy Coffee at a Sox game. It happens at every sporting event in the country, not just the UC for a Bulls game, but I do agree that there is a lot of corporate BS at Bulls game and not nearly as many true fans and this has a lot to do with the costs of going.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) The 100 points cheer is one of the most pathetic things in sports. You paid $100 for your seat, and you are going crazy for a free big mac? Really? Cheer for a game, not a free heart attack. It's called sponsorships, and really, who cares if people are cheering really loud for a free Big Mac? That means the Bulls have won and scored triple digits, not a big deal. I worked at McDonald's when I was a teenager for 3 years and only one person I can remember (because I actually knew the family) came in and used the ticket stub for one so I don't think it is people that are really overly excited about a free sandwich more so than most of the stadium giving a sarcastic applause And I think many people are going the Stubhub way now (at least I do) and spending $5-$20 on a ticket, so maybe some people really ARE excited about the Bigmac LOL
  20. The lady on the show "Barefoot Contessa" on the Food Network, I HATE her
  21. I would search around for a great deal on a used car, I found a completely spotless, fully loaded '08 Grand Prix (leather, ground effects, etc.) for a little over $12,000. The sticker cost of the vehicle from earlier that year was about $31,000. 2 years later, the car has had no issues and I have loved it. I purchased it from the Community group which looked like they priced all of their used cars to sell quick.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) You may be right....I guess I saw a very average NYJ offense put up some points last week against Pittsburgh, so I think the Panthers may be able to put up a few too... I know this is a fantasy playoff question but figured I'd get the quickest input here, got a little dilemma my lineup as it is now RB-Turner (not moving) RB-Mendenhall (not moving) RB/WR - LT WR-Vincent Jackson (not moving) WR-Mike Wallace (not moving) WR-Sidney Rice on my bench currently that can fill the RB/WR slot - Jonathan Stewart, Steve Smith (Carolina), Percy Harvin I was 13-2 this year and this is the first round of the playoffs and now have a pretty good sized dilemma with some injuries going on. Do I go with the hot hand in Stewart against the best Run D in the league while there may be a good chance that they will be throwing all game from behind? If that might happen, should I plug in Steve Smith in place of Sidney Rice, since him and Percy Harvin may be catching Joe Webb throws (but with a chance that Favre may be back AGAIN, I'd have to play one of them), or should I stick with LT (who I have not played in forever because of obvious fantasy reasons) who may be taking alot of dumpoffs with from whoever is playing QB (Brunell or a hurt Sanchez)? I don't know why but I just cannot get LT out of my head even though he's been on my bench the second half of the year. Any suggestions? Or I can just eat the $5 and pick up a Tashard Choice, Michael Bush or a Rashad Jennings (if MJD can't go)
  23. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) When Cutler wins a single playoff game in the NFL, he will start getting more respect from these types -- and not until. I love Cutler, he plays hard and takes risks, and he's fun to watch because of these things...but in the NFL, he's proven absolutely nothing yet, to pretend or to say otherwise is false. This has always been my problem with Bears fans and their general arrogance that they get from who knows where. They're so easy to dislike because they have that "Cub" like mentality that they're the most awesomeist thing ever when in fact, they aren't. They want praise for everything their team does, but don't like to give praise to anyone else. When they win on a fluke play, it's part of the game, when they lose, it's not because the other team beat them, it's because they didn't show up, or some other such nonsense. I don't apply this mentality to all Bears fans, either...but there are the many, as I like to put it, 'Da Bers" fans...and this is directed at you if you're amongst them. I don't think the majority of people are pissed about Dilfer because he says what Cutler does wrong, it's just that unlike some of the other analysts, he completely ignores any type of positives surrounding the Bears. Which, honestly, I could care less about but I know what you are getting at Sure he mentions his great tools and whatnot, but the hatred is very noticeable. Cutler is having a really good season for having a TERRIBLE offensive line that has been moved around like a game of chess and also in a new offense with a large group of #2 receivers (but with talent) at best right now. Sure he makes mistakes, everyone sees that and knows that but if you are an analyst, analyze. Don't bash all day, he has literally bashed the Bears (now the first team to clinch a playoff birth) more than any other team that I can remember. It's hilarious If we were the Cleveland Browns/Buffalo Bills playing out of our minds like this, everyone would understand the hate. This team has a very talented QB with some talent around him and a very talented defense but overall is inconsistent BUT has gotten the job done and is in the playoffs. Recognize DILFER
  24. http://www.clevelandleader.com/node/15481 What is Yao Ming up to? Just in case you were wondering...
  25. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 11:32 AM) was it a neck injury? I thought he blew out his knee Actually, it seems to be a little of both http://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/old...k_slide/2606612
