QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 08:50 PM) Another Running back in the top 10 for the Bills. I'm so glad to know that there's a solid new regime in place. Who have they chosen in the top 10? -
In other news, Willie Harris is batting 3rd for the Nats today

QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 09:27 AM) The highlight of the program was Rik Smits, bar none. I will never forget about the day I found out what Rik Smits does now http://www.sportable.com/wp-content/upload...06/10/smits.jpg

First we face Dana Eveland Then we off to Cleveland -
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) He's too dependent on the homerun. 60% of his hits so far. I thought that this was the year of Ozzieball. WTF?! If they keep throwing them in his wheelhouse, why shouldn't he keep hitting bombs?

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 03:34 PM) Milwaukee's pen is not much better than the cubs though, so it is far from over. For having a great line-up the Brewers have three good hitters and that's it. Their pitching is terrible. 2 of those 3 good hitters are elite though and that helps big time.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 07:12 PM) All I know is wsox pitching has walked Bautista 3 times too many. He has quite the potty mouth too after that swing and a miss! -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 01:57 PM) Anybody who thinks those "mows my lawn" Tshirts are funny is a moron. Who would buy one of those? The Mexican guy in my dart league, no seriously

Really underrated and always a favorite of mine is Oh's, they keep their crunch after sitting in milk for hours (by hours I mean minutes)

QUOTE (The Beast @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 09:09 AM) I've heard from a few people that UPS pays your tuition if you work there for a certain amount of time in a co-op program. Not sure if that is true or not. Yesterday, I read this too and thought about how great it would be, making $74,000 doing this kind of work. But honestly I'd rather just get my degree and stumble into a career. Though that is something I wonder - what is the difference between a job and a career in soxtalk.com's viewpoint? You could also never get me to be a lawyer, but I would consider being a paralegal. Any job that consumes your life where you are working long hours for virtually nothing in return but money doesn't fit me. Similarly, long hours for $20K doesn't fit me either. Is there a happy medium between the two? Worked there for 3 years, they start paying your tuition the day that you start but if you were to quit or something before your semester is over, you must pay it back

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 10:23 AM) Sat through both games. Sunburn Monday, frost bite last night. 8 hits through 2 games....... I think we will see Jones as Kotsay is not adding anything. I felt that the chiliness last night helped sooth by sunburn! -

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 11:23 PM) Bosh can't hit a jumper? I'd rather have a big man who can play at least passable defense. Is this the same Chris Bosh that is a Center for the Raptors who averages almost 37 percent from 3 point land this year LOL? -
QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 11:09 PM) I'm not a real fan of your starters. Too much inconsistency there. I know, hopefully the offense can help carry
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 11:00 PM) May I ask how many teams are in this league? No way it's 12. 10
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 07:15 PM) That's wayyyyyyyyyy too many batting categories. Triples? lol. I doubt Longoria will still be on the board by the time you make your second pick. But Zimmerman, Sandoval and Reynolds should all still be there. So I'd no doubt go with Utley. I felt the same way going into my first year in it last year, not so bad after a couple of weeks getting used to
-
Longoria lasted and we actually ended up with a very nice team C Ryan Doumit 1B Adrian Gonzalez 2B Chase Utley 3B Evan Longoria SS Jose Reyes OF Carl Craword OF Adam Dunn OF Hunter Pence Util Nate McClouth SP Josh Beckett SP Yovani Gallardo SP Ricky Nolasco SP Gavin Floyd RP Francisco Rodriguez RP Andrew Bailey BENCH C Geovany Soto 2B/SS Asdrubal Cabrera 3B Casey Blake 3B Alex Gordon SS Elvis Andrus OF Corey Hart OF Colby Rasmus SP Homer Bailey SP Ryan Dempster RP/SP Justin Masterson Took a chance on Reyes in round 7 since we had a lot of good offense by round 6, hopefully it pays off - Taking Utley definitely worked out well
-
I have the 3rd pick in a draft tonight for a league the scores as below. We have it narrowed down to Utley and A-Rod (Pujols and Hanley are 1 and 2 already) - who should we go for? We are thinking Utley since there is a chance of getting Zimmerman/ and MAYBE Longoria on the way back. I usually do fairly well in fantasy each year but I am stumped on this one! Scoring for Batting Categories 1B - Singles 1 point 2B - Doubles 2 points 3B - Triples 3 points BB - Walks (Batters) .5 points GSHR - Grand Slam Home Runs 5 points HP - Hit by Pitch .5 points HR - Home Runs 4 points KO - Strikeouts (Batter) -1 point R - Runs 2 points RBI - Runs Batted In 2 points SB - Stolen Bases 2 points SF - Sacrifice Flies 1 point FWIW, A-rod and projected to have 744.5 points int his league while Utley at 732. We were originally A-Rod but now that Ian Kinsler could miss some time (we were high on him) we like Chase.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 08:49 AM) Ridiculous... Why can't we get some love here? CHANGE is why, remember?
-
So we are now choosing our keepers and losing the draft picks, I originally put in the following but can change Hanley - Round 1 Kinsler - Round 3 Zimmerman - Round 13 Justin Upton - Round 16 (chosen by someone else) I am only questioning Kinsler in Round 3 vs. Adrian Gonzalez in Round 9 (yes 9) vs Justin Verlander in Round 12 (I am kind of questioning JV because of all those innings last year and I am unsure because Pitching is pretty deep this year it seems)

Miracles can happen, Twinkies may consider trading Mauer
Chi Town Sox replied to chisoxfan09's topic in The Diamond Club
I mean things can change but I know him and Justin Morneau are real tight and in SI last year Morneau said he wouldn't talk to Mauer ever again if he didn't resign. Should be interesting
