  1. Started Bortles and Hurns this week as bye week/injury replacements...HOLY GARBAGE TIME POINTS!!!
  2. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 02:15 PM) More than one guy at an OF position can win. Nope. That used to be the case but not anymore.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 01:13 PM) Ken Griffey Jr will be on the cover of MLB 17 The Show. What I found kind of interesting is that he's wearing a Sox hat in one of the pictures on the cover. Cause he had his best half a year ever on the Sox, duh. That's kind of dope though.
  4. I'd be surprised if Heyward isn't back to himself next year. Whether that's worth all that money is certainly debatable but I'd be absolutely shocked if he doesn't have a comeback year.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 09:35 AM) I know, I just didn't like when the ball would stop at him and he'd dribble for 10 seconds and turn it over. But I love his energy for that team. They need to stand up now and assert that they belong in the NBA as players, and he needs to lead that charge. I agree. Shame that Simmons is broke, I would love to watch those two try to grow with each other this year.
  6. Embiid is fun to watch. He is kind of all over the place right now but also got to remember that this guy has been injured for 2 years so who knows where he'll be in a few months, he's got a chance to be a star. Decent start from AD, hope that dude can stay healthy.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 03:45 PM) to video footage of someone's head getting bashed in repeatedly. I gotta start watching Walking Dead.
  8. The call for Uribe's catch and hocus pocus are actually probably my favorite.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 10:24 AM) One game people. That said, I do think the whole Durant thing will be interesting. He is just a very ball centric type of player and Curry was already so explosive with the ball. The experiment might end badly, but yesterday's game is nothing more then a one game anomaly at this point. If two months from now they are struggling, then I think everyone can start talking. I wouldn't even worry about them after 2 months. There's going to be some growing pains but come April or so they're going to be deadly. We'll get some fun freak outs from the fans and the National Media though.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 01:09 PM) Speaking of the last out, I'm glad replay wasn't used back then. He was out, but it would have been super awkward. Ha I never thought about that. Good point.
  11. I'd just run my car through his garage. That'll learn him.
  12. That was fun, we should do it again.
  13. Brandon and Dan Haren are the two best twitter follows.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 10:35 PM) So can anyone tell me why Maddon got so cute with his lineup? Did he really start a guy who hasn't seen live pitching in month higher in the order than Baez? So overrated. Here's hoping this trend continues. If he's healthy and they think he's ready to go then he's one of their best hitters against rhp, that's not getting cute. I'm not sure why fans are so adamant that they know how Kyle is going to react in this situation. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 10:44 PM) Why did Maddon let Ross face Miller with the bases loaded instead of pinch hitting Soler? Ross was replaced defensively anyway so what was the difference? Seemed like a waste of their best opportunity, get a power bat in there. This I completely agree with. I was baffled by this as well.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 12:51 PM) They deliver beer? They actually do in St. Louis, yes. I very rarely drink at home though so not really an issue.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 03:42 PM) Bulls starting 5: Rondo Wade Butler Gibson Lopez no comment. All of the floor spacing.
  17. I'm too lazy to order pickup so I've never had that problem.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 11:31 AM) The one realistic place I have heard suggested where a stadium actually could have been built in the late 80's was the south loop. The rest are ideas from crackpot fans who have no grasp on reality. No, there will never be a lake front stadium. Friends of the Parks would have that shutdown in about two seconds. There is no "should have". It is like saying I "should have" married a supermodel and invented google. Yeah, reality called. I thought you did invent google?
  19. Is there any type of precedent for what Schwarber is doing? I have seen a lot of people say that they don't think he'll be able to hit with such a long layoff but I'm in the who the hell knows camp. I could easily see him being just fine or being completely awful because I have nothing to go off of.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 09:03 AM) I think the person who would say no to this is Steve Bartman. No doubt about it.
  21. And Cleveland doesn't have a hockey team so just a great graphic all the way around. CBS screwed up a few things yesterday too. Saying it was the first World Series in Chicago in 71 years and what not. It is what it is but we're definitely one of the most irrelevant franchises in the 4 major sports at the moment.
  22. It'll be interesting to see how long they have until Lester gets old. Hendricks will definitely regress a little bit next year as well. Their staff is solid going forward but it can definitely be better.
  23. QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) I do think that everything went in their favor this year and they really need to take advantage of it while they can. Yes they will be early favorites for years to come but everything doesn't go right for a team year in and year out like it did for them this year. They still wont be guaranteed a WS appearance every year, they need to win it now and if they don't they should still be afraid that they will never win one. Thats a haunting truth that holds on to you until the very last damn out of a WS winner. They did lose Schwarber right away and didn't miss a beat.
