QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 02:08 PM) square one? Who are you kidding, this team is set up to compete for many years, this isnt a flash and burnout And even if something strange happened and this is their only playoff appearance they still got over one of the hurdles. No, it's not winning the Series but getting there is still a huge deal.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 12:29 PM) Justifying the price is entirely up to you if you only play a few games. That said, the system is super easy to use compared to the PS3. Playing online is usually seamless if you have halfway decent internet. I'm going to be buying the PS4 this week at some point. Pretty excited, I haven't had a video game system in a loooooong time.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 11:15 AM) Probably Joe West cause Joe West does what Joe West wants. lol. This is actually the only reasonable answer.
-
I'll add that there's nothing worse than rooting for a team that "goes for it" every year and is still miserable. You brought up the Lakers and Phillies, these are teams that are in some sort of a rebuilding phase and as a fan you know they're going to have down years and you can deal with it or even enjoy it some. The way the Sox have been for the last 6 years now is about as bad as it gets from a fan stand point.
-
Joe West is umping this series? Whose idea was that?
-
I think for me a lot of it has to do with how much more information there is available now compared to when we were younger. I see and read about the misery of this franchise all the time and it definitely starts to wear on you. When I first started on this board I honestly didn't realize how pathetic the Sox franchise has been on the whole. And we're old too.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 09:24 PM) Cubs in 5. Baseball is weird so you never know but I'd be surprised if the Cubs don't destroy Cleveland.
-
No matter how the series ends up, I want a game 7. Kick some ass, Kershaw.

QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 01:18 PM) Wow Cubs considering activating Schwarber if they make the WS Wow indeed.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 11:38 PM) Ok, so anyway, should I make the trade or what? Yes dude.
-
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 11:23 PM) Should I make this trade? He gets - Matt Stafford I get - Amari Cooper My #1 QB is Tom Brady, so Stafford is my backup. 10 team league, and my best WR right now is....Doug Baldwin and Will Fuller? Your league makes me sad.

Sunday is the last game of the season for fall kickball, sad times. Besides that, this is the first weekend in I don't know how long that I actually have nothing planned...it's awful.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 01:17 PM) Exactly. Dodgers are an inferior opponent and Cubs win. It would take just what Harry says. And if it 'somehow' went game 7, no way in hell the Cubs would lose to an Independent League pitcher in Hill. They would bash him. Kershaw the best pitcher in the game? I disagree. Face facts. Like we all suspected from the regular season runaway, it's the Cubs year. The Giants and Dodgers players are 1/3 as good as the Cubs. Rizzo is this year's Hosmer; Bryant is arguably the best hitter around and the Cubs defense and bullpen and starters are amazing. The parade is coming soon. If greg isn't trolling here I just kind of feel bad at this point.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 01:05 PM) I watched Deadpool again recently and wasn't entertained but I appreciate the fact that I don't get a splitting migraine when I watch it Let me speak for the rest of the Films thread when I say that we're pretty shocked you'd go against the grain on something.
-
History or not they still have to face the best pitcher in baseball and(if they lose game 6) face another guy who they match up with terribly. This series is far from over.
-
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 10:12 AM) the Sox have ruined themselves. This is absolutely the bigger issue. Of course when the Cubs are good and the Sox are hot garbage the casual fan is going to jump to the Northside.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 02:27 PM) Should I bench Jordan Howard tonight for Jacquizz Rodgers??? Never would have thought I'd ask that a month ago. Uhh yup, yes you should. Glad I could help!

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 09:02 AM) Such an awful pick. Even though he hasn't been much better, I still would've rather taken Tim Hardaway Jr at that spot. We know, Brian, we know.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 11:30 PM) I don't know how I can further explain it. Kershaw pitching at home in Game 5 gave LA the best chance to win prior to coming to Chicago. That's it But the series doesn't end either way. If you want to pitch the exact same guys these two games you're telling us that you think Kershaw on short rest and Maeda on two days extra rest > than both of them on their normal schedule.
-
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 11:17 PM) Maeda. It's not that he's better than Kershaw under any circumstance, I would have just preferred Kershaw at home Game 5, Maeda 6, Hill/Kershaw Game 7. He gave LA the best chance of winning entering Wrigley up in the series I don't get how that makes any sense but ok.
-
I'm not trying to be an ass but I actually would like to hear what you guys would have done for game 6 if Kershaw started tonight? You'd be good running Hill out there again on short rest?
-
Who were they going to start in game 6 if they started Kershaw tonight? Hill on short rest? Cause he looked like garbage last series. It's a tough spot and I don't think it was the wrong move.
