  1. If he gets drafted by the twins, will you cut his arms off???
  2. Well, his numbers have been great this year no doubt about that. I'm not just saying I think he can be a solid everyday player though because of the those numbers, I've been a big fan of Ross since I've seen him play for the sox. I love his hitting approach, I love the way he takes what pitchers give him, unlike a lot of guys on this team he's not pull happy, he'll hit the ball opposite way. I know a ton of people got down on him cause he dropped a couple of flyballs in the outfield, well he's not an outfielder. He's a very good defensive firstbasemen, he's got very good speed for a firstbasemen. Imo, gload can hit .280 over a full season, 20 homers, 75 rbi's. He's also one of those guys that hawk would say "don't tell me what he hits, tell me when he hits it," there aren't many other guys on the sox I'd want up more in a clutch situation then ross. I really do believe gload can be a very solid firstbasemen and maybe help the team more then pauly would and I know pauly puts up far better numbers but sometimes guys like Gload can help your team out more with his style of play under our current manager. With Konerko's value so high I definitely believe we could get a solid leadoff man and maybe a bullpen arm to go along with, the trade jason proposed a week or so ago Pauly for Furcal and Cruz doesn't seem that far out of the realm of possibility. Imo, it just makes perfect sense to trade Pauly when his value is at his highest, with a good replacement in place, and our manager and gm wanting to change the look of this team to more speed and defense.
  3. Well gload doesn't have a lot of ab's against lefties but he's absolutely mashed the one's he's faced this season. With the way he stays closed against them I think he can hit them pretty well. If you trade pauly for a good leadoff man by putting a better defender and more speed at 1st, obviously less power and a worse hitter, although ross is a better clutch hitter then I think your filling a hole instead of creating one.
  4. I don't care that's he's been a journeyman. Ross can hit, he can play first base and he's definitely one of the faster firstbasemen around. I don't care how some of their pitchers are pitching now that the sox are out of the race, they have a very nice rotation in place for next year especially if they add another top of the rotation starter. Add a couple bullpen arms, tweak the offense through trades or fa and the sox will be a serious contender next year.
  5. I agree 100 percent. Retool don't rebuild. This team can be a serious contender in 05 if they add a top of the rotation starter.
  6. Gload's playing first base again tonight. It really looks like it's a good possibility he might be the sox starting 1 bagger next year.
  7. Woops, completely forgot about him. Your right, koch is a stud.
  8. Lidge's stuff is disgusting. Unfortunately for them he's their only good reliever. I'd like to see them add a closer flame throwing or not, unfortunately the only 2 descent closers out there are Percival and Benitez. We might have to look for a closer by trade.
  9. Exactly jim. I do however love this staff kenny has put together, sox need to add one more starter and it's going to be one heck of a rotation. However we need bullpen help, hopefully adding two new arms.
  10. Pretty solid list. I agree with some of them but I really don't like some of them at all. Alba is close to the top of the list for me but that's a good list you made there.
  11. Ditto. I also think the dodgers are coming out of the nl(I know no one else agrees with this) unless the marlins miraculously get in the playoffs.
  12. You guys are hilarious. :headshake
  13. I'll ask just for the hell of it. Who do you think?
  14. She's got one hell of a body, she's real hot.
  15. Thanks for naming your cat after me.
  16. I disagree he NEEDS to start somewhere, a middle infielder that can hit .270-.280 with 20 plus homers and gold glove caliber defense needs to be playing somewhere.
  17. I completely agree. However if we signed Pavano that would still be one hell of a rotation.
