I disagree with the sox getting steamrolled, they would have really really been tough in the playoffs, loaiza might have been a little gased but bartolo, buehrle and garland were all pitching great. I said I agree the sox should go and look for an ace if possible but it's just not that easy. I'm just saying it's not time to look to the playoffs just yet.
-
That's a pipedream my friend.
-
That's fine, but last year I thought if the sox got into the playoffs they would have absolutely been deadly with their rotation but they never got there. The first step is to make it into the playoffs then worry about the rotation. Trust me I would absolutely love to get an ace such as R.J. but that's going to be very hard to do. IF the sox were to make the playoffs I wouldn't mind any of the pitching matchups, our top four starters keep us in every game. While I definitely understand brando's point I'm just saying it's premature to set the playoff rotation.
-
I'm rooting for Joe very much so. He's been one of my favorite prospects for a while. I think if he can keep it up for a while he gets a call before reed because of the fact he's been in the system longer. Aboz the homerun and rbi numbers look damn good in your sig. Go Joey B

Brando can we let the sox get to the playoffs before we start setting the rotation.
-
To much right handed power. It seems everytime there is more balance in the lineup the more runs the sox will score. I'm taking this proposal back Benson for Lee was a stupid idea from me. I still think one of pk or clee must go but Lee for Benson was just a dumb idea.
-
Your right he bats something like .350 batting 2nd so of course I'm the moron and Ozzie tells me "I make the f***ing lineup not you."
-
I'm not that high on Benson either, I'd much rather get Garcia. Basically I was just throwing it out there for a couple reasons. I don't like Lee, he's just to dumb a player for me, but I'm not sure if you agree but I really think for this offense to be consistant they're going to have to unload either pk or lee, I through Benson's name out there because Pitt would probably be willing to do something like that. I'd much much rather have Freddy or Schmidt as you mentioned in another thread but I doubt the Giants would trade him.
-
So I was saying Rowand batting 2nd was a bad idea. I luuuuuuuuv being wrong.
-
Agreed has fielding has sucked, stats won't tell you that you have to watch him play. As far as my name goes I've always been a fan of aaron but I won't the sox to win and rowand batting 2nd doesn't give them the best chance to win imo.
-
Rowand is batting 2nd again :puke uribe 2b rowand cf ordonez rf thomas dh lee lf valentin ss konerko 1b crede 3b olivo c
-
Well he's the best option the sox have right now other then to make a trade, if there is no trade made soon then yes neal has to go out there again.
-
Well after what rex said that the sox won't need a 5th starter until june 13th, then the right thing to do is probably wait if Garcia could be available close to then. If the sox could trade Lee and Valentin for Garcia and Winn that would be absolutely awesome even with Winn having a down year right now. That would give the sox another very good starter and a true centerfielder.
-
Fair enough I see your point, I happen to think differently but we'll agree to disagree.
-
To be fair to everyone else, I'm the only one who has been in favor of this trade. Even if Carlos gets hot, he still won't come up with clutch hits and is a bonehead on the basepaths and at the plate and I'm tired of his play, even when he was having a good year last year.
-
He wasn't pitching smart he was throwing offspeed pitches with 2 strikes on the hitters when he should be throwing high fastballs that no one can catch up to.
-
Like I said change of scenery could help him a lot. Maybe working with coop would help too. I think at worse benson would be a solid 5th starter and atleast give the sox a chance to win. To me getting rid of Carlos is a huge plus and one way or another has to be done. If the sox could get rid of Carlos and get Garcia, I'd much rather have that then benson, I just don't think Lee for Garcia straight up would go down, but if that deal was possible I'd absolutely love it.
-
Haha, I knew someone was going to say that. I just think either Carlos or PK must go and I'd rather it be carlos. I just think pitt would be willing to make a trade right away and if the sox were to trade for Garcia it's going to take a while. I also believe the pirates would take Lee straight up while the mariners wouldn't. Addition by subtraction for the offense.
-
I hope your kidding, his era is .52 which means he's obviously let up a run or two what a bum.
-
Looking at the baseball america mock draft, it says the sox have been targeting college pitchers: Diamond, Hoyman, Perkins, Purcey and Vargas, I see their stats but what do you guys know about these pitchers?
-
I don't care how good he is, I hope they don't draft an outfielder with their first pick, I'm wit jas and want to see pitching, pitching, and more pitching.
-
Ok I'm sure some people aren't going to like this but I thought I'd bring it up. In my opinion not only would this help the pitching staff it would help the offense. I know Benson would be a risk but I think at worse he'd be a solid 5th starter and who knows with a change of scenery he might start living up to some of his potential. Salary wise for this year it's pretty much a wash and the Pirates would probably do this trade and probably do it right now. They could use a power hitting outfielder and they've wanted to trade Benson for a while now. With Lee gone you could put Gload in left field and see if he could produce and balance out the lineup a little more with another left handed bat(it's amazing how well the sox hit with three lefties out there) and if gload couldn't produce as an every day player(but i think he would) then reed could still be an answer in aaa. I personally would love a trade like this but I'm sure there are many of you who would be real opposed to it, I just thought I'd bring it up.

Yup exactly, everyone hates when the sox lose and some games hurt more then others, but get used to it, it's baseball teams are going to lose games, I do agree with jreed that these dumb threads after every lose have to stop....UNBELIEVABLE. -

I completely agree it's dumb for someone to post one of these threads everytime someone has a bad game. But the thing is there is always one person who is going to post one of these dumb threads. Like I said before..... deep breaths.
