  1. How is Jeremy Reed anything like Joe Borchard, Reed continues to hit and he hasn't done anything but hit since the sox drafted him. Borchard had one good year and down hill from there. Also Borchard is a power hitter with a long swing, I really haven't seen Reed play that much but he's more of a contact guy right now that doesn't strike out a lot.
  2. I'll add a couple things to that cause that's what I'd do also. But I'd then stick willie in center and uribe at 2b and reed in left. And my lineup would look like this: 1. willie cf 2. uribe 2b 3. Maggs rf 4. Frank dh 5. Jose ss 6. PK 1b 7. Reed lf 8. Crede 3b 9. Olivo c
  3. I agree with everything you said. Maybe the sox biggest question mark coming in to the season is batting .301 right now, way to go willie but all the other bats have just fallen asleep. Also I never thought I'd say this, willie harris has a better obp right now then maggs.
  4. Man do I miss Carl. I know he's injured but even with his short stint with the sox he became one of my favorite players in baseball. He did provide a spark and came up with so many clutch hits, I wish the sox still had him to play left field instead of carlos or dh with frank playing first.
  5. If it's not for Crede the sox don't win 2 games this road trip, his average is bad right now, but he's about the best clutch hitter the sox have right now.
  6. This happens every year, they're never able to get the big hits when they need them. It's about time this lineup gets shook up a little bit. I'm tired of carlos lee and it's time for Jeremy Reed. It's time to get all these right handed power hitters out of this lineup.
  7. The problem is every single year they all go into slumps together. Eventually hopefully this year the sox will be able to trade pauly or carlos for a solid pitcher to break those 4 up. What I would really like to see is carlos get traded, bring up reed to play left, put willie in center and move jose down in the lineup that way the sox would have more left handed hitters and break up those clump of right handed hitters down in the lineup.
  8. That's a pretty cool list brando, it is pretty weird how some of those picks work out.
  9. Yup we already got rid of valentine
  10. Except he's pitched real well.
  11. I hope that happens soon, but I doubt that happens tonight will Lilly on the mound.
  12. I agree that choosing between clee and pauly is real tough. It's actually an odd situation, because 2 offseasons ago when there were rumors that the sox might trade pauly for russ ortiz nobody wanted that, but if it was carlos everyone was fine with it, now this offseason there were the rumors with perez and everyone was in favor of getting rid of pauly, but no one wanted to get rid of carlos, with those two it's just an odd situation.
  13. Thanks Rex, what do you think of Arnie, do you think he has a chance to be a descent starter some day in the future or do you think his future in the majors is still in the pen?
  14. Wow, I've never laughed at a thread so hard in my life. Good stuff.
  15. Thanks a lot. I think your right about his fastball too, I think I heard along the lines of he can reach low 90's.
  16. Hey jas, what's his 3rd pitch right now? I know he's supposed to have a nasty curve and a low 90's fastball.
  17. So many people bashed jm for tinkering with positions and lineups(myself included) it seems all the sudden people on this board want the sox to tinker with their lineup, leave the damn thing alone, they're 16 and 9, Joe Crede is our 3b. The one thing i see as a good possibility is moving willie to cf when Jose comes back, but please leave Joe alone.
  18. First off I agree billy is our closer until he blows another one, he's 4 of 5 in opportunities. Second, B.J. Surhoff is out on strikes if he doesn't argue with the umpire about strike two, the ump flinched and wanted to call that strike three. Billy got the job done, he let up two runs... yes, but got the job done. Also the only save he blew was a game when he came in with a three run lead. Today he also comes in with a three run lead. He's looked pretty damn good in the one run ball games. Billy seems to lose a little bit of a mental edge when he comes in with a bigger lead, which he has to get over.
  19. I love Aaron as you can tell, but right now the best option we have is to put willie in cf, and put juan at 2b, Willie is batting .273 right now with a descent obp, and aaron is batting .237 right now, and willie is a better cf then aaron, right now you have to put willie in cf once Jose comes back.
  20. Yup same here, but just skipped ahead in the game so I know it's not live, and they took finch out of the game.
  21. Yeah, I'm watching that to, but it's not live so it was probably taped some time ago.
