  1. I really think this arod deal is going to get done, but is the nomar for maggs trade still on the table, cause it doesn't seem thats for sure right now, but i'd love to see that happen then trade nomar for washburn, donnelly, and eckstein, then get randy wynn too, I really love that scenario, but it's just not going to happen anything us sox fans want just isn't going to happen, thats how life works.
  2. I agree with Rex, beastly stop making so many f***in threads, we know you don't want maggs dealt, but just shut the f*** up already.
  3. There shouldn't be any argument over who is a better pitcher wood or garland there is no doubt that its wood, but that being said wood is and always has been an overrated pitcher, this guy is one of the most inconsistent pitcher in all of baseball, and I think thats a reason his win total has never been great, when he wins he dominates, when he loses he sucks plain and simple, and yes he did dominate the braves, but I really believe that a ton of pitchers could have shut down the braves, they became to much like the whitesox in that series, they were all going for the long ball and all trying to hit homeruns, even though they had one of the best offenses in the regular season, when you have a primarily power hitting lineup you will most likely get shut down in the playoffs.
  4. I do the same damn thing, I remember last year, I woke up in the morning heard that the sox might be close to getting bartolo, had finals that day, finished my english final right away left the room and listened to my radio and hear they acquired colon, that was a great day, something needs to happen soon, I'm gettin very very unpatient like everyone else.
  5. Beastly, we all love maggs, but is he worth 14 mill? I don't think so, it would be real tempting if you could get garcia and soriano for maggs, plus jerry would save 5 to 6 mill(depending on what freddy makes in arbitration) that move would fill the rotation, plus giving us extra money to maybe sign todd walker or some bullpen arms, then you've just filled tons of holes trading maggs. Personally I would do garcia and soriano for maggs.
  6. If we were desperate for Garcia before, we're even more desperate for him now.
  7. First of all kenny did do the koch trade last year, but he also got us Bartolo, 2nd of all I wouldn't say we lost top 5 prospects, Webster maybe but he's expendable cause of all the outfield depth the sox have in their system, rupe I would say could turn out descent, but I just don't think he'll be anything special, and trading a reliever spect is not that big of a deal, we can find a royce ring with some of the additional picks we have recieved in the draft this year.
  8. whitesox61382 I was thinking along the same lines as you, get garcia, wynn, and a bullpen arm, that way you fill 3 holes while trading maggs, then we'd have another starting pitcher, and a pretty good leadoff hitter, with another solid bullpen arm, I think that would be a pretty damn good deal.
  9. The Mariners also want to dump some salary if they're going to trade Garcia, I don't think they want to add anymore salary especially if they end up signing Tejada which it looks like is going to happen, I think another major league player would have to be added from the mariners side of this deal.
  10. The one reason I believe this, is because it just goes perfectly along with everything else thats happened this offseason
  11. O boy, I don't know what to say about this, if this is true, this offseason just keeps getting worse and worse.
  12. I guess the sox are missing a rear end.
  13. Maybe a maggs trade to the yanks is still not of the equation, because it looks like sheffield isn't a done deal anymore, and someone here posted that Vlad will not play for the yankees, if this is true I think the sox and yankees could do some business, maybe a deal revolving around soriano and others, I don't know if the yankees would be willing to still trade soriano, but I just thought I'd bring this up, cause it's not a dead possibility anymore.
  14. um, do you mean why did they sign ibanez, if thats what you mean, it's because they know they were going to lose Cameron, and that way they can move Wynn to centerfield.
  15. O god please no, why the hell would the angels do that?? That would be a great trade for the flubs, garrett anderson is one hell of a player, and a left handed bat the cubs really need.
  16. I don't know how you can say that, look what the sox have in their bullpen right now, marte, and thats about it, this bullpen needs to be improved and this would do it in a big way.
  17. Beastly I won't make fun of you hear, even though it does seem like fun . It's tomorrow night, I believe from 7 to 9 or 8 to 10.
  18. I disagree with you, what makes you say he'll put up garland like numbers in the al? The numbers he was putting up before he got traded definitely weren't garland numbers, and don't forget he's still young, and keeps getting better every year, I personally think he'd be a great sign.
  19. Yeah I know they didn't offer him arbitration, it just strikes me wierd that it seems no teams have been interested in him.

    Ponson

What's going on with this guy, he's a pretty big free agent out there, and I thought and still think that the sox are going to be in the running for this guy, but I haven't heard anything about him since the offseason started about him, do you think teams have just been waiting to see the giants decline arbitration on him or what? I'm just curious to what's going on with him.
  21. Yeah that is huge, but the real question is how much of that money is deferred, because we all know, that it's not all up front.
  22. Beastly it's not KW's fault that Fatolo is an Angel, he couldn't put up any more money, and yes we haven't done anything yet, but wait until the end of this week, if nothing happens I'll be real pissed off too, but don't blame colons departure on kenny, blame it on the chairman.
  23. Brandofan, it also should be mentioned that it was crede's first full year in the majors, yes there is 2 halves, but he showed improvement in the 2nd half which is very important, hopefully meaning he's ready to have a solid whole season this year. I don't know how you can say he didn't make any highlight plays at 3rd, cause he made plenty.
