Wainwright was also good last season(sample size I know) and Lester wasn't so there is a difference here. Saint Louis is cheap as hell but not bringing him back for 5 or 6 mill makes 0 sense.
So he's just going to fall off a cliff at 34? Could happen but I don't know that and neither do you. The contract puts him right around 25th or so in the league for total value which is pretty close to in line with where his value has been as a player for the last 6 years. People have had it set in their mind that some of these big names were going to get a lot less than they're worth because most teams don't want to spend money but the Springer deal is far from a bad one.
Ya, having too many starting pitchers isn't going to be an issue. Even if it were best case scenario, that shit will figure itself out. Like most, I love the idea of Kluber if he's healthy, hope Rick can make it happen.
Colome seemingly is the rare guy that can out pitch his peripherals/stat cast numbers. He's done it for a while now so I don't think tossing out his era/save numbers is a fair thing to do. That said, Hendriks is better, he's quite possibly the best reliever in baseball right now and is the much better bet to keep on that path where as I think there's a good chance Alex starts to regress.
As of right now every proven major league starting pitcher we have is gone in 3 years. Hopefully we’re not at our peak but we sure as hell may be. I keep saying it but the time to make something happen is absolutely right now because as much as we all hope we’re building some type of dynasty(we’re not), we have no clue what this roster is going to look like in 4 years.
I don’t think anyone believes that Bummer wouldn’t be a capable closer but then we lose him in high leverage situations in earlier innings and no thank you on that.
I can tell you it was the Blues Stanley Cup theme like Don't Stop Believing was for our WS. As someone that lives in Saint Louis and had to hear that song 8 billion times during that run, it's an evil, evil song, so fits perfectly.
Just so I got this right: Antifa stormed into the Capitol to stop the certification of Biden's win, just to make Trump look bad one more time even though he's gone in 2 weeks anyways? Yup, adds up.
