People have had it set in their mind that some of these big names were going to get a lot less than they're worth because most teams don't want to spend money but the Springer deal is far from a bad one.

Colome seemingly is the rare guy that can out pitch his peripherals/stat cast numbers. He's done it for a while now so I don't think tossing out his era/save numbers is a fair thing to do. That said, Hendriks is better, he's quite possibly the best reliever in baseball right now and is the much better bet to keep on that path where as I think there's a good chance Alex starts to regress.

As of right now every proven major league starting pitcher we have is gone in 3 years. Hopefully we’re not at our peak but we sure as hell may be. I keep saying it but the time to make something happen is absolutely right now because as much as we all hope we’re building some type of dynasty(we’re not), we have no clue what this roster is going to look like in 4 years.
