  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 11:42 AM) ^^^ Love that dude on and off the court. This needs to be said again. Not sure I love a player in sports more than this dude right now.
  2. I've never been a Yankees hater so I don't care that the Sox helped them out. That said, that was the one trade Rick has made in the last year and half that seemed a bit light to me from the beginning. Hopefully Blake takes a huge step forward in his development next year.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 07:37 AM) Please stay healthy, Joel Embiid. ^^^ Love that dude on and off the court.
  4. That epic ab + the lazy ass defense by Cleveland is one way to(possibly) put the final nail in the Indians coffin.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 08:26 AM) My parents told me Santa Claus was real too. Fake news Why'd I have a feeling you'd be the first response to this thread?
  6. So disappointing. The World Cup is seriously one of my favorite sporting events and it really kills it for me to not have the US in it.
  7. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 03:06 PM) When I see Trubisky, I see a mobile Chad Pennington. I don't think he has the arm to make all of the throws. Super accurate, but I don't see the zip on his passes. Eventually this will get exposed. I think Loggains doesn't go deep and stretch the field because he knows that none of his guys have the arm to do it. Dude what? I'm not a Bears fan and I really couldn't care less if Mitch is great or awful but this is one out there comparison.
  8. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Oct 9, 2017 -> 04:40 PM) It's impossible to know for sure, but I would be very surprised if there's a single front office still using W/L record to evaluate pitchers. As an evaluation tool I'd be shocked if there's any that do.
  9. Just like the weird Shield reboot, if we're rolling with the Sami-KO story I'm going to f***in mark out no matter what. They got me tonight even though I thought Sami would be involved somehow. Love it. Besides that, I think I've said it here multiple times, I'm not convinced that Jinder isn't the worst pro wrestler under the WWE umbrella. He's literally made Nak boring. Tha'ts super impressive.
  10. QUOTE (Wanne @ Oct 8, 2017 -> 01:27 AM) Cam Newton said what most guys actually think...then everyone gasps in PC accordance. Honestly...all these networks have been doing lately is trying to cram women in their broadcasts down your throat in the name of equality. Honestly...no big whoop...but sometimes the stuff that comes out of some of these women's mouths trying to be "jocky" is actually kind of funny. Newton is young kid...bfd. I had a problem when he acted like a cry baby after the Super Bowl...but he'll learn. But honestly...the dude takes more unnecessary shots that don't get called more than any QB I've seen. If Sharon Rodgers got hit like he did...they'd call a congressional hearing. I do find his presser outfits pretty comical...but overall...I don't sweat Cam Newton. Well this is absolutely horse s***.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 6, 2017 -> 04:10 PM) Can't stand that guy. He hates you too.
  12. This might surprise some of you guys but Rongey's radio show down here is really good. I enjoy the hell out of it.
  13. Kopech would have 6 K's and 0 baserunners allowed so far.
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 5, 2017 -> 09:48 AM) I think he's a much better hitter than he showed this year. Definitely agree. This upcoming year will be a big year in his development.
  15. QUOTE (ptatc @ Oct 2, 2017 -> 11:28 AM) I told you I failed spelling. I was especially poor on the exam for QB names. I only called you out on this because you were on a roll with the spelling errors haha. Wouldn't have even crossed my mind otherwise.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 4, 2017 -> 01:50 PM) At the time of the trade, I personally didn't read one thing how Fernando Tatis Jr. was going to make Rick Hahn rue the day he made this trade. I think James Shields' performance did that. There were people out there that were plenty upset about Tatis, thinking he might be a pretty prospect, I certainly wasn't one of them. And I don't agree with Greensox on anything but I think it's completely fair to say that the Sox didn't know what they had in Tatis. I mean, they clearly didn't.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Oct 3, 2017 -> 06:17 PM) If Stanton was a FA in 2019 with Bryce/Machado class, would you want the Sox to give 10/285m to a 29 year old corner outfielder? I'd rather offer that same deal to a 25 year old Machado Machado is probably going to get a good deal more than that.
  18. Rutherford is the name that I think could make the most sense on both sides to kind of start a package. Once again, I really have no clue what kind of trade value Stanton has as he's such a unique case but Blake is the name that keeps popping up in my head for some reason.
  19. I'm all over this if the price is right(prospects wise). Dude's prime fits The Sox window and has a chance to make the team absolutely special in that time frame. It's an absolute risk but one I'm willing to take if once again the price is right.
  20. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Oct 3, 2017 -> 08:52 AM) I've got a lot of concerns about Giolito. I understand why the broadcasters are trying to sell that 2.38 ERA, but I'm finding it very hard to buy, as it comes next to a 4.94 FIP, .189 BABIP, and a staggering 92% LOB rate. The only positives I can see are the 2.38 BB/9 rate and the fact that his homerun rate looks about where it should be, or maybe a touch high even, which at least suggests he wasn't getting lucky there. That said, I had the opportunity to watch him live and up close when was in Lehigh shortly before his call-up, and from that look and what I saw on TV, I remain mystified that his stuff isn't leading to better results. The curveball, especially, is stunning up close -- but I guess that we've always known the problem is with the fastball, despite its velocity. He's an enigma; he scares me. This is all fair. That said, he's still very much a work in progress and he improved dramatically as the season went on. I wouldn't say he scares me as he was a 22 year old with mechanical issues that made huge strides as the season went on. But your opinion is definitely fair and valid here.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 3, 2017 -> 06:18 AM) So Sheamus and Cesaro attacking the team that took their titles makes no sense? I love people who read results, don’t watch, then throw hot takes. I’m more into a SHEILD reunion match vs Miz/Bar than Miz/Miztourage obviously. No Brock for next PPV so need that draw. Aren’t we all? It semi makes sense but it's still all over the place. It definitely seems like they just decided to throw the reunion back together to pop viewership or whatever but like I said, f*** it, I'm in.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2017 -> 05:38 PM) But, he had 100 more collegiate innings than Chris Sale. Like I said earlier, I didn't see him having any evidence of getting his S*** together - I saw the same sort of occasionally dominant run we've seen down the stretch the last 2 years. But on August 26, he went out against Detroit, gave up 5 runs and a couple HR. A few weeks of occasional dominance when the slider is on, then bad games he can't overcome when he doesn't have his best stuff. There wasn't enough evidence this season to determine anything. He struggled when he was going through his Spring Training period then went on a pretty damn dominant run before making a bad start which happens to everyone. If you've decided that a 24 year old can't improve then that's fine but I think he's close to getting to where he needs to be. This of course is all dependent on health which once again is a big if at the moment.
