Royals at ReyLo Game Thread -The ReyLo Game-

ReyLo it is. -
QUOTE (SonofaRoache @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 02:54 PM) We don't want to be the top farm system anymore. What we want is to be 5-10 and have our top guys in Chicago and playing well. While we sucked most of the year beyond belief having the top system got us through stage one. Now we are at the point of seeing some of these guys blossom. If we play our cards right with these next two top picks, we should have a top 5 team in baseball and a top 10 system for years to come. I say we just become the best team in baseball and have the top farm in baseball.

I'm not going to pretend to know a ton about him but looks like he has a good arm and has good numbers so what the hell.
-
I'll take the Sox cause it's super close and I'm biased.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 11:49 AM) I think the point here is how hypocritical the NFL is. Guy wasnt charged with anything, how does that warrant 6 games? And if he was and convicted, it should be more than a 6 games suspension. Instead a guy who was convicted of domestic violence got 4 games. Animal cruelty gets you 2 games. Drugs get you 4. With the appeal I bet it lands on 2 games, which makes the process even more of a joke. Man, he has to give up 8 million bucks too, but not being convicted or charged with anything. The NFL sucks, no one is going to argue that. Zeke also sucks so I'm not going to shed a tear for him.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 11:31 AM) The thing that sucks about that is, since some of our top prospect position players likely won't be up next year, you don't really know who is a "hole." And even if a guy or 2 do come up, a small cup of coffee at the MLB level isn't enough to know if a position is a hole or not. The good news about that is we'll get a good long look at some of the non top tier guys to see if they might be something. Guys like Gillaspie, Cordell, Engel, Delmonico and maybe if Tilson comes back from the dead should all get some good ab's to see if they're actually something. Not to mention guys like Leury and Davidson will get to try and prove that they're useful on a contending team. We'll learn a lot about a lot of guys in 2018.

Where there's smoke, there's fire with Zeke. The NFL is definitely weird with this stuff but I'm not going to cry about Zeke getting suspended.
-
Fulmer needs to get his arm back. I wouldn't be so worried about the results if his stuff was still there but it's not. If that stuff doesn't come back then he's just not a quality prospect.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:19 AM) What ? Are you saying the Sox decision to rebuild was based on Sale's behavior ? Or maybe you are saying that even if the Sox rebuilt if Sale was a model citizen they wouldn't have traded him ? That is way out there man, either theory . The conspiracy theory out there at first was that the Sox weren't rebuilding but they were just trading the bad apples(Sale and Eaton) but like I said, any even small thought of that being true went out the window with everything else they've done.
-
QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 07:54 AM) Regardless of what the board thinks, that is why He was traded in the first place. Unprofessional + the laroche saga is what started it all. FO was sick of him. Same with Eaton. Considering what's happened in the last 8 months, I think it's fair to say that this theory is bs too.

QUOTE (Real @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 06:02 AM) I find it interesting that many here were so quick to jettison Sale for Kopech and Moncada. I often hear about the shredding of a jersey and how Sale's attitude was unprofessional and not liked by coaches/mgmt. Kopech's attacking of a teammate resulting in a broken hand injury, as well as a 50 game suspension 2 years ago so quickly gets shoveled under the rug and forgotten, lol. Ya almost no one here wanted Sale traded just because of him being "unprofessional." This is just silly.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 10:58 PM) This has got to be a thought process for next year. Anderson has no pitch recognition ability never has had it at any level. Definitely not. If Anderson sucks again next year then I'll jump on that bandwagon. Dude absolutely gets another year to prove himself. Leury will get his chance to play everday in the of.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 10:14 PM) If the sox lose this one, it's what we call a good loss. Would like to see TA get a hit next inning...then we can lose ha.

I like this Yoan kid.
-
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 09:48 PM) He ripped one to the warning track in deep center in his last at bat, too. The game was ugly overall, but some dudes are hitting. Pretty awesome you got to see Gio though!
-
Gio's night is done. 6.2, 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, 6 k's.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 08:04 PM) Ump was no fun and called low strike. Ahh fair enough then.
-
Why didn't Yoan walk?
-
Maybe he's not the best overall prospect in the game but is it safe to say that Eloy has the highest ceiling as a hitter of anyone in the minors?
-
I mean it's a sample size and all but this dude is putting up an ops of over .1100 in 25 games with us now. This isn't a 5 game streak. f***in incredible.
-
Splitting up the best trio in baseball history(Moncada, Nicky and TA) will go down as the worst managerial move of all time.
-
Seby went long ball again...
-
Gillaspie 2.0 starting to get some hits lately.
-
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 05:39 PM) f***ing sheets of rain coming down in Algonquin, instant flooding. I just hope no one gets hurt on that s*** field tonight. Perfect way to prepare for Soldier, no?

Whether you think it was mostly Kenny or whatever, Rick deserves plenty of blame for the mess the Sox found themselves going into this last offseason. He also deserves all the credit for those deals that are hopefully going to help us get out of the mess that he helped put us in. Point is, he can be blamed for what happened before and praised for what he has done since December.
