  1. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ May 5, 2017 -> 11:24 AM) Zack Burdi has been dominant this year. Throwing strikes. Had a rough outing or two but besides that he's been fantastic. Like you said, he's throwing strikes and if he does that then watch the f*** out.
  2. Sox or Cardinals for Robert. The Rowand guarantee is always right! *Disclaimer...the Rowand guarantee is almost never right.
  3. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ May 5, 2017 -> 08:54 AM) It would be so awesome if this Kardashian-clone goes undrafted. Ha.
  4. I've been as skeptical of Avi as anyone but I'm at least starting to think this might have a chance of not being a complete fluke(avioulsy he's not going to put up a .371 average all year, etc). We all know the story at this point with the strike zone discipline being very much the same but the launch angles and what not being extremely different so I'm interested to see where this goes from here on out. It's still a small sample size and he could fall completely on his face but I'm paying attention more at this point.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2017 -> 08:21 PM) Not sure how runs are unearned. Can't assume DP Wasn't watching but strange. When I originally looked at the box they had him at 3 er's now it's at 0.
  6. Kopech doing Kopech things with out a ton of walks so far this game.
  7. If I come out with a $500 shoe will you guys buy it? I'm a nicer guy than Lavar Ball, I swear!
  8. That .340 ba next to Moncada's name is just fun to look at.
  9. Can we ban heads for not posting a scoreboard link? Yeesh! http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20170504
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 4, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) https://sports.yahoo.com/news/jay-cutler-ma...-160311630.html I'm surprised by the lack of interest in Cutler. You'd think some team with a QB deficiency (49ers, Jets, Browns, etc.) would at least take a flier on him. The Texans would still make the most sense in the world to me. Let Watson sit for a year since you have a SB roster(outside of QB) and let Jay take a shot at it for a year before handing off the keys to Watson.
  11. QUOTE (steveno89 @ May 4, 2017 -> 01:17 PM) Giolito is only 23 and pitchers with large bodies like his often do take longer to develop At the start oi the rebuild we have plenty of time to be patient in our prospects development 22
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ May 4, 2017 -> 11:45 AM) This wouldn't be my pick if we were to acquire something like this for Butler, but man the Bulls looked so good when they were busting teams out in transition. I would be so pumped if they could somehow land Deaaron Fox in this draft. I'm a fan of Fox. Problem is the one skill he's kind of lacking at this point is kind of an important one. If he can develop any kind of jump shot he's going to be pretty nasty.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ May 4, 2017 -> 11:14 AM) Yeah, Hinrich was fine. But I think they were less willing to make that reasonable trade up for Wade knowing that they didn't really have a point guard (Crawford was pretty injury plagued at the time, it is amazing, I'd never have pegged him of all those players to be a 18 something year vet) Didn't everyone at the time think Wade was going to fall to the Bulls anyways? IIRC(which it was in 03 so I certainly might not) people were a bit surprised when the Heat took him.
  14. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 4, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) Yep. Having a core of Jay Williams/Dwyane Wade/Jamal Crawford/Eddy Curry/Tyson Chandler would have been nice at the time. How would we have gotten Wade? And despite how much all of us were done with Kirk during his last stint here, he was the best player left after Wade in 03 so not sure the Jay injury forced them to do anything.
  15. Kinda crazy how young Adams is. Feels like he's been in our organization for 90 years now.
  16. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 4, 2017 -> 08:03 AM) I think it's because for some reason, Adam Eaton is criminally underrated. Something like that was always the price for Eaton and some even thought it wasn't enough. I think it's the combination of both. Eaton isn't a name and Gio was a huge name in the prospect world. When you add in the fact we got one other pretty well known guy along with a 2016 1st round pick it just looks bad from the Nats side if you don't actually dig into it more or know Adam like Sox fans do.
  17. So Micker has been hitting the crap out of the ball lately. Be a pleasant surprise if he keeps hitting, he is only 20...
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 3, 2017 -> 04:14 PM) No need to do that. Just marvel at the current NBA as a whole for the time being. We're about 5-6 weeks away from what is shaping up to be the greatest nba finals of all-time. The Bulls, at some point, will get with the times. Can't be this inept forever. You've flip flopped on the Cavs like 47 times this season. Now this is going to be the greatest NBA finals of all time?
  19. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 3, 2017 -> 03:12 PM) mike trout - year in and year out the best player in the majors, and STILL manages to be possibly the most underrated player in the majors. I know that everyone realizes he's the best player in the majors...but do they? this is rhetorical btw Everything in this post makes too much sense ha.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2017 -> 02:13 PM) Ha, gotta be quicker than that. Work, always messing with my Soxtalk edit speeds!
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2017 -> 02:10 PM) 2020. Ya, I'm an idiot. Thought that was the case originally then saw something that said otherwise then figured out it. That's why I edited and re-edited ha.
  22. So if Avi is indeed a big league regular now what the hell do you do with him? He's a free agent like right when we expect the team to take off but he's still only 25. Interesting conundrum.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2017 -> 01:52 PM) True, but I would like to thing relevant here. Moncada has been playing well, but isn't exactly FORCING himself to be called up yet either. His strike out rate is still a pretty significant red flag. He's still sitting just under 1 out of 3 PAs with a K. It's not quite Joey Gallo territory, but you also aren't getting his ridiculous power. Moncada's #1 asset is his speed, which does you no good if he isn't making contact. If Joey Gallo was in the minors he'd still be striking out at a stupid rate, it's just who he is. I've said my opinion 8 million times on this so I really shouldn't be getting back into it but I'll always believe the best way for these guys to get better is to play the best competition. I think it's best for Yoan's development to be in the majors as soon as possible but I know a ton of people are going to disagree with me.
