They're good. That's my analysis on the 2017 Cubs.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 03:07 PM) If Q wins the Cy Young I'll never want to let him go. You will once you see what we get back if he were to win the Cy.

I literally have no opinion on this either way but I decided to post in this thread anyways.

QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 01:31 PM) They are getting some pretty good pop from the fans and the shock factor of Goldberg squash is still there. Outside of that, it's mostly Heyman doing this thing and minimizing matches and physical confrontation between those two before Mania. I'm definitely not denying the crowd factor as they've been hot for this for some reason. And this wont be popular but I'm a little bit over Heyman at this point despite him being one of the best ever. As far as minimizing the matches and confrontations I think it's the fact that Goldberg just can't do anything, nothing more. Anywho, despite the fact that I've watched less wrestling these last 2 months than I have in about 7 years and the fact I don't care about a single match on the card, I've still managed to get myself excited for Sunday. -
Update: Luis Robert has been cleared according to Rosenthal

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 01:05 PM) PERSON Sox signed this guy Robert, never heard of him. ME Yeah I scouted some video. Really ...short and ... nice swing. Uses...hips correctly. Definitely has the height you see in some players that are successful. Don't forget that the ball jumps off his bat. For real though, it's pretty hard to not be impressed but at the same time who the hell knows what we're actually seeing with something like this. -

QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 11:22 AM) Least excited I'm about Mania in a while, and it's not that the build up for the matches are bad - Jeri-KO, Brock vs Goldberg, Seth vs Hunter, Cena vs Miz all has some pretty good build ups (on the other hand, the Orton/Bray storyline was just bad the past few weeks), but I don't think any of the matches will be Mania worthy, for various reasons. On a side note, the Alpha vs Usos tag match last week was awesome. It's unfortunate that they aren't getting a match at WM. Has Brock-Goldberg been good? Granted, this week has been the first full Raw and SD's I've watched since the rumble but holy hell that go home segment was garbage. -
So that Warriors-Spurs game last night was something, eh?

So next week is the vote down here to see if the city of St. Louis is going to fund the build of a new Soccer stadium. Everyone I know is voting yes for it but we all got a feeling it wont happen.

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Mar 29, 2017 -> 04:20 PM) Yep. And, if I remember right, the Bulls had a shortage of roster spots at that time. I can see the mindset that led to the Bulls making that pick. It obviously backfired terribly, but I get why it happened. Ya, good call on that too. I was never a fan of the trade and never wanted Doug but I at least understood their thought process.

QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 29, 2017 -> 03:06 PM) I don't see that, at least for now. But agreed in principle that the dude could score, and efficiently. Him and Butler would have been a good combo. Question is I had is would we still have selected those two had we not decided to trade with Denver? Did Denver scouts see something in those guys or was it our scouts? I think it's as simple as they needed a shooter and just fell in love with the idea of McDermott despite the concerns with him.

As long as I can binge drink on Bud instead of Miller I'm a happy Rowand.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 03:08 PM) It was amazing how bad of a coach that Romar was at UW. Not shocked at all they moved on, in fact I applaud them for knowing that no matter the talent, Romar was not going to get the job done. Ya, it was time to get rid of Romar. Might hurt them for a year but sometimes you have to do that for long term gain. -

The IU turnover has been higher than UCLA in recent memory. -
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 01:52 PM) It'd be unbearable, the entire broadcast would just be Hawk gushing over AJ and what an incredible player he was. Ha fair point.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 01:49 PM) Maybe they will, but I imagine they would wait until Hawk is gone. I don't think the two of them would mesh very well. Hawk loves AJ, he'd probably bring some life to Hawk if they teamed up for a little while.

May is the type of guy where you need to figure out what you have in him during a year like this. Let him get some bats and see if you actually have something there because who knows. If he sucks then at least you know and he can 'help' you lose some games, if he's better than expected then hey maybe we have an outfielder going forward.

QUOTE (brett05 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 07:59 AM) No Seth Beer? Wrong draft.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 07:10 AM) So you would have cut him, but you are annoyed that the Sox traded him for cash considerations? lol exactly. Anywho as others have said, good for May. I'm excited to see him play.

QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 27, 2017 -> 04:27 PM) Here is a thought, just slap me hard in the face once you are done reading, is it possible the Bears could actually trade for Brady with the number 3 and then some? The Pats have always been proactive and it would immediately legitimize the Bears team. I know, slap me. shipps -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 27, 2017 -> 04:13 PM) But the new stadium isn't supposed to be ready until the 2020 season. I haven't read up on this at all yet today but I had a buddy tell me that they might try and make the UNLV stadium NFL ready and that could be good to go by 2019? -

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 25, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) So one of Florida, Xavier, Gonzaga, or South Carolina will be in the championship game. Xavier, Gonzaga, and South Carolina have never made the Final 4 Well Gonzaga by literally everything you can look at is pretty great so not sure what the point is here. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 25, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) To be fair the Wisconsin shot to tie it was lucky too Right. There were crazy shots everywhere at the end of the game, I'm not really sure who 'deserved' to win the game but Florida made the last one so here we are.
