  1. Durant is going to be back for the playoffs most likely, I wouldn't bury the Warriors yet.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 26, 2017 -> 06:27 PM) We say the same thing every year and usually fail but I agree. ISU seems vulnerable and I'd love to end their NCAA dreams. We always fail ha. I'm not predicting we make it to the finals but we've played ISU tough both times. We definitely can't beat Wichita though so nice to be on IlSU's side of the bracket.
  3. Gotta think Wichita State takes this the way they've been playing but who knows. If we can get by Loyola on Friday I think we at least have a punchers chance against the Redbirds in the semis.
  4. Alright, face palm for real now. I'll leave this conversation on that.
  5. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 04:08 PM) You guys are delusional if you think 2 top 5 picks is some kind of guarantee. Next year's draft is supposed to be pretty good, but what about 2018? What if you get stuck choosing between Anthony Bennett and Victor Oladipo? If it's 2 picks plus Brown and some scrap, I would consider that. Just picks? Hellllllllllllll no. Not one person has guaranteed anything about those picks. I have guaranteed this team isn't winning a damn thing the next few years with Jimmy here though. You're delusional(to use your term) if you think this team is going to be a contender with Jimmy these next 3 years. And you're absolutely delusional if you think Jimmy is a superstar on the same level of guys who lead their teams to championships like you keep insinuating. Dude is a great player but he's not leading this team to a championship.
  6. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) Again, you're trading a proven, starting All-Star. He's a top 10-12 player in the league on an insanely cheap contract for a few more seasons. It would be criminal for the Bulls to get rid of him for 2 draft picks, even if they are 1-4. There are no assurances those top picks will pan out. http://www.nba.com/history/draft/all-time-...ry-draft-picks/ (edit: sorry, this is the right link) Go look back at the top 5 picks. There are far too many busts for my liking in there. I think best case you get one guy that comes close to Butler's level and the other would be just an average NBA player....4-5 seasons from now. Not nearly enough. Are you still going to be arguing this same position at this time next year or the year after? Because we're going to be in virtually the same position. You can argue your trade values all you want but holding onto Jimmy just because you have a perceived value on him that nobody can reach is the way to keep the Bulls where they are. Nobody is guaranteeing anything with these picks(though a lot of us certainly love some of these players) but eventually you have to take a chance because I do guarantee you they wont be a championship contender with Jimmy in his 'prime' here.
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 03:00 PM) You would be getting two top 4 picks. I'd do that without thinking twice. Butler is great but this franchise isn't winning a f***ing thing with him and you aren't getting more value than two top 4 picks for him. You certainly are better off doing that then acquiring the mediocre players that you usually accompany such a deal. Yup.
  8. Jimmy has gotten better the 2 years Fred has been here as well. So once Fred got here that's when Jimmy started getting better on his own? Gage said yesterday that Niko has gotten better defensively so I guess that's on his own too. Marquis Teague was just the front office's fault I guess, not Thibs. I don't know, just seems like an easy way to blame Fred for player development. Like I said, if you think he's a bad coach then fine, I'm just not sure lack of player development is an actual thing here.
  9. Can I ask for the developing talent people what exactly that means to you guys in the NBA? Do we think like Niko's shot mechanics are wrong, maybe he dribbles funny? Did Doug run flat footed on the Bulls? If we want to say their system might not be the best fit for these players then I can at least buy that but I just don't think 'player development' is something a coaching staff in the NBA has that much ability to control.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 02:21 PM) Great as LeBron is, i'm just sick of him walking into the finals every year unchallenged for the most part. I REALLY wish the Wizards had traded for Cousins. I get that from a fans point of view. I wouldn't have faulted the Celtics either making a trade involving that Nets pick and Jaylen but I wouldn't have thought it was a good deal either.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 02:15 PM) Celtics are the real losers to me. Unless you really believe that all of Ball/Fulktz/Smith are high-level all-stars if not superstars in the future I don't get why you don't make a move. I really don't blame them for not wanting to give up that Nets pick, not with this year's draft.
  12. Niko and Doug and Portis and whoever else you want to throw in there are still going to be bad players when/if they get out of here, I'm pretty positive on that.
  13. Mixed tag matches always suck. Nobody would be complaining if it was Miz-Cena, that'd actually be pretty great. The build up will be fun but wasting those 2 in a mixed tag when they've been 2 of the best guys on the roster for the last however long is annoying.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 22, 2017 -> 01:08 PM) Just so I understand, you couldn't care less? I could not.
  15. Y2HH I get why they're doing things, I don't want care to see it. I've been surprised how well people have responded to Greenberg and Orton and Bray but they have so I get it but I couldn't care less about any of it. Edit: and bray is super over right now everywhere so I don't agree with you there. I couldn't care less about him these days but others absolutely do.
  16. To me this is shaping up to be a lot worse than last year cause they have a full roster. Waste Styles, waste Cena, waste Miz, Goldberg/Brock is the ME. At least adding Luke to Bray-Randy makes that semi interesting. Overall just bad.
  17. Yup, one of the reasons him getting booed at Soxfest a few years back really bothered me. He's bad though, like real bad.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 11:25 AM) Name me a better frontcourt in the past better than Davis/Cousins? Don't give me Robinson/Duncan. Robinson was past his prime at that point and a full-blown role player by 2001. Davis and Cousins are 23 and 26. And I use shook only when it applies. It definitely applies here. The Warriors would much rather see a no-defense playing squad like Denver than this new monster. You use shook like in 80 percent of your posts in this thread now. I f***in love the idea of this AD/DMC front court and my post had nothing to do with that, just saying that you have absolutely killed those two words.
  19. J4L I defend you all the time in this thread but you've officially killed the words GOAT and Shook.
  20. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 08:23 PM) While we appreciate everyone's feedback we've decided to go in another direction, instead of highlighting the exciting young players in the org the site banner will instead be honoring heroes of years past. First up: White Sox legend Adam Dunn, i think all can appreciate his contribution to White Sox history. This is absolutely a no brainer. Thank you for putting this together for us.
  21. I'll be there for his jersey retirement at the Cell.
  22. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 02:26 PM) I'm not sure he was serious in his post. Also, gotta factor in that they're going to lose some depth due to the WBC so there will be extra playing time out there. Wite? He's never been sarcastic in his life, always serious.
  23. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 02:06 PM) Why not Zoidberg? Count me in for that.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 02:03 PM) Holmberg! Definitely saw this as Hoiberg at first.
