QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 08:59 AM) You got a point there, I have no idea why Young, Quentin, and Stephen Drew (to a lesser extent, he does play more) aren't starting every day. There's no way Eric Byrnes, Jeff DeVanon and Craigh Counsell should be playing over those guys. It'd still be pretty pre-mature to worry about how great Young is though, you just don't know how he's going to develop yet. Also add Tony .180 hitting Clark and Damien Easyout as well. It is so tough for the young guys to play once every 3 or 4 days and sometimes it is just a pinch hit or run. Next Year they are planning to throw them out together at once. Since The call ups happened July 19th this unit has never played together in a game together now Melvin thinks they should be thrown out there together next year of course it will fail. Why doesn't he play them together or at least get some of them on the field everyday right now to help them learn? It is because Melvin has no clue how to manage a team.

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) Young has all of 2 homers and 9 RBI with a monstrous .259 average this year. How about we let him prove something at the major league level before we start designing his Hall of Fame plaque? Well it would damn nice if our Dumb Ass Manager ( Bob Stupid ass Melvin) would actually play him a little. Instead he plays washed up has beens and we have fallen to well below .500 As you can tell I hate him and reactionary managing skills the guy is a born loser and shouldn't ever be an MLB manager. He is by far the worst MLB manager now.

I live here in AZ so could someone enlighten me on what was said. I knew what Kenny said in Feb, but didn't hear what Ozzie said. Tom

Gonzalez to leave after season Thanks for the 8 years of great memories. Now he will most likely be a DH for some AL team.

Well the SUN network started talking about Sanchez no hitter after 6 and it didn't "Jinx" him one bit so I hope no one believes that Mariotti garbage.

Napolitano leads here in AZ over Lee Munsil 52% to 37%. Munsil faced a stiff challenge by Don Goldwater who was an extreme right winger who wanted to arrest all illegals and make them work on a fence to surround the AZ border. Also in AZ-8 31 year old Gabby Giffords won the democratic nomination and is taking on Randy Graf. This is an interesting race it is to succeed Jim Kolbe who is a republican and completing his 11th term after after starting in 1985. Giffords leads by 10 but it is worth noting that this district has never sent a woman or democratic candidate to the House and Arizona has only sent 3 women to the house in its history. Also polls here which seem to rebuke Rasmussen have Jon Kyl and Jim Peterson with in 6 points. Kyl is having to defend his pro Bush record which is hurting him according to the Senate's voting record Kyl has Supported Bush 95.8% of all votes. Kyl is also having to defend his pro oil stance which he voted for tax breaks 6 times and voted against penalties for price gouger's while valley residents are paying $2.70 a gallon. Kyl is also taking heat for his votes against min wage increases and his votes to cut Social Security.

Greg Sorry to hear this. I had an experence like this back when I was a Junior in 2000 we were playing a baseball game I was the first baseman and throw was high and towards the dugout and I leap to get throw and I made the catch the next thing I know is I am being plowed over he got me right in the chest and I fell to the ground my knee snapped and my head slammed the ground. Next thing I know I am at St. Clair Hospital I had a concussion, a damaged eye cord, my eye was swollen shut, had a broken rib and damaged some ligaments in my knee which needed surgery and it was grueling time recovering. So best of luck and hope for a speedy full recovery Tom

QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 02:50 PM) Sounds like the mother might be responsible for the boys disappearance, Nancy called her on it, and she killed herself. Yeah I think something else other than the show did this. She either knew who did it and was to scared for some reason to talk or did it herself.

This is a real sad story that has gone from bad to worse.

This is a long story so stay with me: I lived in Alabama at the time. I was 17 at the time getting ready for school mom always had the morning news on and I was standing right behind the couch and I had my Organizer and was getting ready to walk out the door when the Fox 6 said "We have a breaking story out of New York" so I paused they said that a plane had the WC and they though it was an accident, I though to myself how in the heck does something like that happen but I knew that it was time for school and I left. I always had my radio on Rick and Bubba but for some reason (most likely because I was in hurry) I didn't turn it on until I got halfway there. They are now talking about a second plane hitting, I knew this was no accident and I got to school and couldn't believe that they were treating this like another day and I finally walked out of my room and into the English and it finally dawned on me that maybe they didn't know so I told them that this was a terrible day, they all looked at me including the teacher I further explained the teacher turned on the radio we started listening to it and was just horrified about not only what had happened but there was all the other threats like car bombs at the Supreme Court building and other threats. The Principal at the school came in asked that anyone who wanted to come to the auditorium and pray were welcomed to I went down there as I walking down there the first tower collapsed the other suffered heavy damage then in the auditorium which was unwatched usually would have been a field day most of time was eerie silent lots of sobbing and then someone came in and said the second tower I went back to the class room the Principal who was a jerk said there would be no more radio or TV or discussions about it and classes would go with no more discussion's about of course this was very hard to do even for the teachers and the English teacher who also lived close to campus he had the radio on low and always on the lookout he also had his wife tape some of the coverage and he played the tape of it. For some reason I remember the day part of 9/11 vividly but the days afterwards were a blur. Sorry for the long story

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) I like Chad Tracey. Decent 3B, really cheap, and putting up some decent numbers this season. He will also be on the trade block according to the AZ media.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 11:10 PM) The club is filled with AAAA power guys with high K totals. Think Dallas McPhereson. Our pitchers fanned him 10 times our series.
-
QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 07:22 PM) 5-2 Mudhens in the 10th Jeff Farnsworth gave up a 3 run HR in the 10th Josh wasn't in the starting line-up due to a bruised thumb. The Knights just lost 5-2. Season over. Darn I was hoping to see a Tucson/Charlotte in the Bricktown Showdown.

Goldman suing to take OJ Simpson's likeness rights
BHAMBARONS replied to southsider2k5's topic in SLaM
I believe that he is guilty but the investigation was so flawed that it left the door open I couldn't imagine being on that jury thinking wholeheartly that he was the killer but not knowing 100% because of flaws during the investigation. -
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 12:21 PM) OK. I was thinking of the serial shooters. Thanks. They could have came up with a better name than serial shooters for the other guys.
-
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 12:02 PM) Didn't this happen weeks ago? We had a whole thread on this, didn't we? No this is serial killer #2 the other was the serial shooter both were terrorizing Phoenix and now both are caught. This guy I think is the worst of the killers. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 12:07 PM) It's a new development. We debated the techiques being used to catch the person(s) Yeah I remeber that, this guy started out as the baseline rapist then started killing his victim's. The other guys (Serial Shooters) picked out random people and shot at them. They were a lot less organized than this guy was.
