QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) That is correct. The one thing I will say though is despite that, his average and on base are about the same (.280/.370 this year in comparison to .277/.377 this year). For some reason (maybe I'm crazy), I usually expect a guy's average to go up when he strikes out less, since the ball is put in play more (ala Crede this year IMO), and you have a better chance of getting a hit on a ball in play than a whiff obviously, but Young's hasn't. Maybe that's just me, and maybe the change of home parks can explain this for Young. He really started off slow and is coming around he is also hitting in the 2 hole since Drew has been called up and it took awhile to get used to that role his AVG on July 20th was .252 now is at .280. He also struggled with some off speed pitches which he is now hitting much better.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) Reed came to mind when comparing Young because both were top flight OF prospects. Young sure looks like the goods this year though (.280, 26 doubles, 20 HR, 48 BB in 353 ABs). Those are quality numbers, basically what you would expect out of him. Granted the PCL inflates his power numbers (and probably all offensive numbers from what I hear), but I'd take that. Still, he does strike out a lot, who knows how that will translate in the bigs. Young has gotten a much better idea of the K zone this year and is it 65K/48BB which is far better than last year. He has put up those numbers in the 2 hole. BTW it was fun watching the Iowa Cubs have to sit in the White Sox's dugout and have 2005 world champion banner staring them in the face.

QUOTE(minors @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 03:33 PM) The injections are out of Joe's hands. And one can dream about just giving them an injection but I know it is still 10 years away because of the great ACLU. I doubt Dale Hausner ever gets Death I really think he is sick he in the last year went off the deep end with the death of his 2 kids when his wife fell asleep at the wheel and he tried pulling them out of the car but was too late, then his wife died of some freak illness and now his only remaining 2 year old daughter is dying of cancer all within the last year. By no means is this any excuse for what he did he deserves to pay for his crimes but I really think a hospital is better for him. Also Arizona has 114 inmates ahead of these guys right now and there is still trial and sentencing and AZ has not executed a person since Bill Clinton was president on November 4th 2000. So if they do get executed it will be at least 15 years if ever. -

Latest update a 22 yrd old was shot and killed in Mesa Sunday and a would be victim was able by alertly using her pepper spray and and car alarm was able to fend off being another victim. It appears as the shooting was the work of the Phoenix sniper and other case is related to the baseline rapist. But this would be victim was able to give a picture of what the person looked like. Also Joe is requiring all his officers on and off duty to be carring there service weapons 24 hours a day 7 days a week. -

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:44 PM) His name is BJ. Can anyone revert me to some of the things Dukes has done that make him such a cancer? Since 2003 4 arrests in Tampa including beating his girlfreind Led the SL in ejections (10) serving a 3 and 6 game suspensions. Fights with teamates including a couple of walkouts Fights with coaching staff which lead to 6 suspension and another 5 game suspension And the comments he made about the Durham Bulls organization And of course the most funny his challenge to Sean Tracey and no teamates came to his rescue and serveral of those players the next day went on record saying they hoped he would get the spiff knocked out of him. Here is the comments made about Durham: In the big leagues, you throw your uniform on the ground and it's washed and hung up nicely in your locker. Here, you do that, you come back the next day and find it still on the floor. Those guys up there (in the big leagues) shower in Evian. Here we use sewer water."
-
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 03:13 PM) Maybe they want to see Dukes try to beat the hell out of Crawford first hand? I still would have liked to see Sean Tracey beat the spiff out of him. It is pretty bad when your own teammates want you to get beaten by an opposing player not one of his teammates came out to defend him, Rogo, Fields and Stewart had to separate them.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) Find those serial killers yet Joe? No he hasn't and looked like a complete fool on the press conference. He looked confused at times really doens't do much to set a side all of the panic here in Phoenix. -
Not sure if this is old news or not but he is starting against the Biscuits tonight.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) It's still a mystery to me how Rogo has so little power, considering he's such a big guy. It is in his swing he hits mostly line drives and hits them hard. I did see him lift one and it went a long ways but his swing just doesn't allow for many homeruns.

QUOTE(minors @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) Jail have been given permission to strip down to their government-issued pink boxer shorts. On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing boxers were either curled up on their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which reached 138 degrees inside the week before. Many were also swathed in wet, pink towels as sweat collected on their chests and dripped down to their pink socks. " I heard about this and I believe this is definitely cruel and unusual punishment. If he is such a good sheriff then why have these 2 serial killers been on the loose for more than a year now. He is clueless on these cases while more people are becoming victims of these people. Lets see him do something about these killers. -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 11:13 PM) Very lucky for the Dodgers they had Saito to fill in. I have seen Baez a lot this year and he is struggling badly. Missing not only out of the zone but in the strike zone also. He also has been bailed out by pitching at Dodger Stadium. Saito I can bet at the begining of the season never thought he would be closing games for the Dodgers starting in June considering Gagne, Yhency Brazoban and then Danys Baez ahead of him.

KTTK poll here in Phoenix shows Kyl leading by just 6. And if Kyl is looking for Bush to help him out he might be in trouble Bush only has a 39% approval rating.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 04:46 PM) Wait.... you have baseball scoring software? SWEET! What type? I wrote a program in High School for scoring a baseball game, but it was text based and writen in C++. Really lame, but fun to write! You Bet, I got it through Baseball Info solutions to be able to do my scoring for Tucson. It is called BIS version 3.26 it is kind of neat. It also has complete rosters (everyone who through the system as well).
