QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) Ditto PBP is much appreciated as always I can get it on MLB Radio -
QUOTE(Randar68 @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 09:29 AM) Can't wait to start reading/writing game day reports and checking out how some of these guys start their season, particularly last year's draftees in the lower levels... I should get to see a bunch of W-S and Kanny games this year with a few Charlotte games sprinkled in... Should be a riot! I get to see all 70 Barons Games at the Met. I am also glad to do game day Reports.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 07:43 AM) Will the Sox still hold onto the kid? Any chance he could be released to send a message? Razor didn't say anything like that last night but he was very dissapointed he said that Jose's first violation and it will be 15 days suspension

Great evening tonight was finally able to put faces with the names I have heard. It was a very casual evening with half of the room split between u of I and North Carolina. Team looks very good on paper on a sad note Jose Espinal was the first White Sox's Farm Hand in 2005 to violate the Minor League Steroids policy.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 2, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) I'll be keeping a close eye on this years team at Birmy. Lots of interesting names -- Bull, Honel, Tracey, Reynoso, Jenks, Rogo, Gonzalez, Fields, Owens, Sweeney, Young -- all guys that I'll be looking out for. I get a front row seat

QUOTE(ShySox72 @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) Is BMac going to Charlotte or Birmingham for the beginning of the season? What would be the advantage of putting him in AA vs. AAA? Just wondering and trying to plan on when the Knights will be in town to watch the young guns. . Charlotte

Kerry Wood blames Stone for '04 discord

QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) Please, dude, take off the goggles. The announcers had absolutely ZERO to do with the Cubs' failure last year. The Cubs gagged on the pressure of finally having expectations, then they paid WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much attention to what the announcers were saying and their substitute teacher of a manager didn't tell them to shut the f*** up and play better. There is NO EXCUSE for Kent Mercker to call the broadcast booth whining DURING A GAME. None. The announcers didn't fall apart like wet cardboard against the Mets, Pirates and Reds in the last week of the season. The PLAYERS did, and the MANAGER did. Blaming the announcers for "distracting" them is a classic example of scapegoating. OOOOPS, I SAID "GOAT"..... The Cubs have enough talent to compete seriously for a championship, but it reamins to be seen if they have the stomach for the pressure. Totally agree I hear all of this Prior and Wood stuff and can't help thinking this team had the WC Lead with 15 play and a schedule that involved @ NYM, Cincinnati at home and Pittsburg. It is a simple fact that Houston wanted it more than the Cubs -

QUOTE(CubsPride34 @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) Wood's my favorite player. Stone was out of line criticizing all last year. He needed to stay in the booth and stay out of the players' business. I am sorry but if a professional Baseball Player gets that upset over a TV broadcaster then he needs to find a new profession. -

QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) Baj, then went 3-0 on Corey Sullivan, before getting a strike and then serving up a home run. 9-8. Then J. Owens hauls in the 27th out with a fine running catch in left. That's a White Sox Winner! Good come from behind win to leave Tucson. And great PBP. -
QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) FWIW, the U.S. beat Guatemala 2-0 on goals by Johnson (his 8th in 8 career games) and Ralston. They are now one point behind Mexico for first in the region through 3 games That was good game yesterday, I have to admit I am not a soccer fan but I left there impressed.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) "White Sox make five roster moves" http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws 28 players in camp. 3 more cuts left to be made to the 25-man roster. Thanks for the update I didn't know about any of those moves being in Bham Tom

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) White Sox | Buehrle Starts and Plays Without Pain - from www.KFFL.com Tue, 29 Mar 2005 16:50:01 -0800 Associated Press reports Chicago White Sox SP Mark Buehrle (foot) started Tuesday, March 29, and did not suffer any pain in his foot. He pitched five pain-free innings and pushed off doubts about his status for opening day. As far as I am concerned today was a victory becuase Mark is ready to go. That is better news than any ST game
-
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) Was he as sharp as he was before? No, but it was expected. He just really looks like a guy making a start after some time off. I know that is stating the obvious, but that about sums it up. He looked fine, all things considered. That is good news
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) Bout like you'd expect after a week and a half off in spring training. Their good hitters got hits when he left stuff over the plate. There were a couple of bloop hits in there. Most important of all of course is that he looks completely healthy. That is most important I expected Mark to give up a few hits since he hasn't pitched in 10 days
-
How does Buehrle look today?
-
QUOTE(ptatc @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) Sad but true. How did he win two league MVPs with that approach? 2000- SL award should have went to Rowand instead he was third behind Crede& Patterson
-
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) Cheat, that's good stuff you are working on. A couple of things to keep in mind about minor league rosters.... 2. AA rosters are 24 for the first and last month of the season, 23 the rest of the time. You are right on Rex May 8th Southern League Roster has to be cut to 24-23. That is always an interseting time around the clubhouse and usually see some great play out of those people on the bubble

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) Well, I wasn't really expecting to see a thread about it, but I might as well throw it out there to see if anybody else watched the game. It was an excellent World Cup qualifier game today between USA and Mexico played in Mexico with Mexico winning 2-1. The Next qualifer will be in BHAM!! @ Legion Feild. I hate that place though. But I will still go
