  2. 1-0 Seattle going to the bottom of the second. Weather is really giving my game feeds trouble. So if anyone else can help I would be really thankful Tom
  3. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) Do you know the lineups? No my Gameday audio has gone out on me. I do know Sox's had a hit in the first
  4. Felix Hernandez Starts for Seattle one of Mariners top prospects
  5. I didn't see a game thread so decided to start one. I am not sure how much of game I will be able to see because severe storms are moving in.
  6. QUOTE(GSBF @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) Any idea of what it will look like during the spring training games ? I can give you these names as they have been officialy been assigned to the Barons Sean Tracey (SP) Chris Stewart © Pedro Lopez (SS) Casey Rogowski (1B/LF) Kris Honel (SP) Hope this Helps Tom
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) There's been some good vibes about the Bull in ST and I'm hearing talk about him being in Charlotte at the beginning of the year. That's the talk, anyways. That is great news. What the Bull did for the Barons last year was priceless and I am glad he gets that shot in Charlotte. Tom
  8. I was just checking to see if there is any information on where Yofu will start this season. Tom
  9. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 05:13 PM) 5'11", 280 pounds. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/prince_fielder.shtml What a fat bastard. And he is a cocky as any minor leaguer I have ever seen. Last year at the Met after drilled one of his moon shots he strutted around like he all of the sudden is the best player in baseball and I think it was Josh Fields who was pitching the next time Fielder came up and Josh threw one behind Prince and to watch his fat butt hit the ground was priceless. Tom
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) No offense but this shouldn't be in pale hose talk, it has nothing to do with the sox. That's my bad I didn't even realize I placed it here until after I posted it. I am still getting use to the site Is there anyway I can move it out of here Tom
  11. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Garland walks Fielder, missing with sinkers. I know he ended up walking Prince but from what I seen of him last year the pitcher needs to keep the ball low on him. Tom
  12. Som much for the flubs using him as lead off hitter if he is going to look that bad swinging at pitches in the dirt that is not the mark of a lead off hitter Tom
  13. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 03:44 AM) BHAM -- You'll love the pet project i'm working on. sneak peak... That is awsome keep me posted with new updates Tom
  14. Transactions Accoring to Rotoworld Brian will be in Bham I am not sure where they got there info from but they do say he is a lot closer to the Cell than Ryan. On a personal note I would sure like to see the hoover met become more hitter frendly I am not sure if that effects our prospects or not but I have seen a LOT of deep drives that would have been long gone at the Cell get caught or go for Doubles. Tom
  15. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) Nothing scares me more than foolishly rushing a prospect through the system. History shows that is NOT the way to go. Sure, there are exceptions, there always are. But, when you are sitting on a prospect with as much talent as McCarthy, it scares the hell out of me to rush him to the show. Make no mistake about it, McCarthy is the best option. However, that doesn't mean it shouldn't scare the hell out of me. For once, I'd love to see a Sox minor league pitcher pan-out. Who was the last one, Buehrle? We've had some rotten luck. I'd hate to F this up. EDIT: Truth is, we have a lot of people looking at this situtation through McCarthy colored glasses. In reality, we have our best pitching prospect at 20 years of age being rushed. That is never a good thing, no matter how prosiming he looks. Normally I would agree 100% but BMAC has a very good head on his shoulders and will take getting sent back to the queen city very well. I was worried when Dan Wright said he was prepared and ready for the Bigs But Bmac doens't strike me as a Danny Wright.
  16. Good luck Corwin Good Luck Indeed hopefully you can have a break out season
  17. QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) i saw it to except the one i saw wasnt stuart scott interviewing him it was someone else It most likely is the same one I just happened to see Scott's name and assumed it was him
  18. Great interview Stuart Scott on Bud Hot Seat. At first the interview started out about Balco and AJ beging asked to testify at Balco hearing in 03 AJ clearly stated that he was cleared of all wrong doing and said that if " Anyone who wants me to prove I am not on the juice just allow me take off my shirt that will clear it up very quickly". Then the conversation turned about the situation in SF and called a "Clubhouse Cancer" he named Tomko and Matt Herges as the people responsible and made another great quote " The way I figure it Herges and Tomko have already taken money out of my pocket what is another $100." AJ handled himself very well and made a few laughs along the way good for you AJ. Tom
  19. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) I thought all he had was the greatest curveball ever in the history of the game? By my calculations, Munoz curve breaks exactly eleventeen inches. Seriously though, after watching Munoz and his invincible 'curve', I've come to the conclusion that his curve takes a predictable motion, loops the exact same way and doesn't have serious enough bite on it to matter. Eleventeen inches or not. From what I have seen of Arnie in Birmingham he does have a good curve best in the history of the game no way. Arnie does own the SL Record for consecutive wins at 13. And nearly got a no-no in his 4th ever start @ West Tenn which is the cubs affilate. So I wouldn't give up on Arnie yet but he has lots of work to go.
  20. This Slime Ball is truely cold person to risk his own escape to murder a judge and court reporter. Living this close to Atlanta will make it a very disturbing night.
  21. Just wondering who might be on the next round of cuts Tom
  22. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) Sweeney & Anderson may be the future of the SOX OF but they are not Borchard. What I hope most Sox fans will understand is that Joe is a power threat from both sides of the plate. That makes him the rarest of players in the MLs. Joe's potential remains MVP type caliber. He's been hampered by injuries that slowed his growth which was already behind in college. Do you remember when the Sox traded Sosa? Sosa was a below avg hitter with a lot of K's before he was dealt. He had a ton of potential. It took him about 5 yrs of ML service before he clicked and went from being a below 250 hitter to a 300 hitter. The last thing the Sox need is to make a mistake like that with Borchard. He's out of options next year. That gives the Sox one more year in hopes he realizes that potential. Having invested 5M in him already they should let it ride one more year. Try to imagine this scenario: Borchy hits 275, 100+RBI, 30+HR at Charlotte. As a late season call-up he puts up similar #'s with the Chi-Sox. What's his trade value worth then? I hope Sox fans will realize that all Borchy needs is to show more than glimmer of hope to other GM's that he can be the real deal & his stock will soar quickly. No GM in the league looks at him like they do other players. That is very true I had the pleasure of watching Joe when he was a Baron in 2001 and he did things at the Canyon AKA the Hoover Met That i have never seen before and most likely won't see again 31 Homers and Hit 450 ft Shots from both sides of the plate in the same game. And yes with Charlotte's park kind of playing like a sandbox I think those numbers are not out of reach. I don't see any thing wrong with letting him have one more chance as you said Switch hitters with that kind of power are hard finds. Tom
