QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) Do we have any Spanish speakers here? Could we get a translation? I love how they call the Sox average.... For that part, I think Socks (Sox)/Media translates into average

Eh, you should be okay if you check on feedback, do a little research, return policy, stuff like that. Even can buy some gift card credit card thing if you don't want to use an actual credit card. Was GREAT for me for Sox tickets last year. Got good seats for way under face multiple times at the last minute. EBay + ticketfast/ability to email tickets = Good.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 3, 2006 -> 06:02 PM) As sad as it is that this guy is a homosexual child molestor (no Ozzie, he LITERALLY is!!), it's almost equally as pathetic that now he's going on making up all this stuff such as being a alcoholic, gay, mentally abused man who was molested by a preist. Yes this damage control is just as bad as the acts themselves. Sorry bud, no sympathy, you are scum. -
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 2, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) Statistically, he might have been the worst reliever in baseball. McCarthy also was not as effective as most thought, and that falls on Mac IMO. I think Kenny made a mistake with the pen in 06, and Williams has seemed to gain more and more knowledge and smarts while on the job, and I expect him to make the pen a top priority. "that falls on Mac IMO", not my opinion. For me, that is the equivalent of having frustration on Mackowiak's defense falling on Mackowiak instead of Ozzie who put him out there. With one trade, KW hurt both the bullpen and the rotation. Trading for a #5 starter when we had one, a prospect that was actually panning out (helped save the season, shut down top offenses on the road), tried to fix it when it wasn't broken. Viz was solid too. El Duque would have been a nice long guy and if he didn't like it, bye bye. KW made and has made great moves, but I would have to say thumbs down on that one This is not factoring in the prospect we gave up btw

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 30, 2006 -> 11:58 PM) I think the wording is key here. if it doesn't say 'anabolic steroids' and simply performance enhancing drugs, I think we have to suppose that it's some other banned substance. HGH

QUOTE(Soxy @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) Link Intro: A judge in America has given the go ahead to a class-action lawsuit accusing the tobacco industry of misleading smokers into buying light cigarettes as a less harmful alternative to regular ones. Judge Jack Weinstein of US District Court in Brooklyn, New York, said that there was enough evidence for the plaintiffs to push their case as a class-action, potentially enabling tens of millions of smokers to join the lawsuit, which it is estimated could cost tobacco firms between $100 billion and $200 billion in damages. What do you all think about this? Eh, you could say the same thing about drinks/foods that are 'diet' or 'fat free', but in the end might be more harmful than the normal version. I am not into cigarettes so don't know how light ones are advertised or what's on the label, but common sense here, a cigarette is a cigarette

I don't think amphetamines would be that far fetched. -
she looks better, really sexy in the 3rd one (with chicago on it) and thumbs down to the site, making such a big deal about it and then not having a 'before' picture to compare

I won't say bye to Buehrle but how do you not change something in your preparation when you give up runs in almost every 1st inning of every start? I think he is one of those guys who maybe got a little too content with last year. I'm not behind the scenes though and Kenny would know those kind of things, so I trust him to make the call

Pods, LF; Iguchi, 2B; Dye, RF; Thome, DH; PK, 1B; AJ, C; Crede, 3B; Cintron, SS; BA, CF. Garcia pitching. -the blog not giving up yet -
Yeah, what's wrong with them, going 20 games over .500, bastards. It sucked lately, but if you really remember corpseball and a real bad pitching staff (hell, it wasn't long ago, unless some of you are bandwagoners? ) ughh, we were just spoiled (though rightfully so, payroll went up, [though the Sox were one of the teams that prices went up the least ]etc). BUT IT'S NOT EASY. The same way you criticize the team for just 'showing up' and expecting it to be handed it to them, I criticize you for expecting it to be that easy. Teams get better, there is competition, other teams are allowed to be better. Players don't set out to lose, though effort can be controlled, you somehow think it can be measured by the stats or results, it can't. You thought they gave up last year during this time as well, and then in a snap of a finger it was a love fest. YOU'RE MAKING IT OUT TO BE TOO EASY THEN IT REALLY IS. You don't just say 'uhhhh, we'll try now'. The #1 thing in this game, country, world, etc is Money. Believe all you want, it's about the money, they all want to do well and cash in, to think otherwise is absurd.

Paris Hilton's album peters out at 120,000

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 09:35 AM) when i heard the first single from Paris Hilton, I was in complete disbelief because I didn't think it sucked total balls. however, anytime Paris makes a fool of herself, I'm all about it. It's not even her voice, a heard a quick blurb on the radio that there was a big thing online about how someone found out that some girl in a underground/indie type band sold out and is singing on the CD for her (someone at the same recording studio saw it) Paris meanwhile was quoted as saying that after she listened to it, it was so good that she cried -
QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) I am in favor of KW blowing up this team while the value is high on many of or players. ... What could we get if we traded Konerko, Crede, Uribe, Pods, Garcia, Buehrle and Vazquez ? ... Some players I would like to see in a Sox uni would be Rollins, Crawford, Wells, M. Young, Ichiro, Nomar etc.. I thought this forum was about the team in real life, not MVP Baseball 2005. Yes, it sucks the way the team has played lately, but as inconsistent as they've been, they're only a few games (think of the games the bullpen blew or a SP giving up 1 extra run) off from the best record in the league. A few tweaks and this team will be fine IMO. The offense getting dissed as slow is being based on a dry spell these last couple weeks, on what otherwise was one of the best offenses in the league. Pitching (esp bullpen) is the #1 priority for me

"So you're telling me there's a chance!" I know it's ova, but we have to make it fun for those who have tickets to this week's game. I was thinking about it as I couldn't sleep over Sox disappointment. The Wild Card is the target, 4.5 back of Minnesota. We have 9 games to make up at least 2 games on the Twins before we face them. Not impossible. Pitching is getting better, hitting sucks, but who knows. I'd at least like to see them go down with a fight

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 12:13 AM) I'm gonna need an Ozzie/KW spat and I'm gonna need it now. I heard a theory that Ozzie and KW really hated each other, that KW was one his way out in the 03 offseason and Reinsdorf made him hire Ozzie (he wanted Cito). Since then they've had many issues, Ozzie's been behind some of the moves (KW didn't want to do Freddy deal) and had fights, including about KW going into the clubhouse. I took it all with a grain of salt since it was a Cubs fan, but he claims he is with some of the Sox investors/board members (through friends) and got the stories from them, Still don't buy it, but you never know what happens behind the scenes. I don't understand Ozzie's BA quote. I think he gets better AB's if he's in the lineup more, and doesn't have to platoon. He is a rookie after all, and gives you defense. Maybe he just has it in for guys who are single.
